no power, no power!

For two nights in a row...we have had NO POWER up here on the hill....the whole hill...so, I don't have a lot to post except to say, I'm tired, I'm hot, I'm overwrought and I'm very pissed at the DWP...!

There is something weird about the power going out two nights in a row at about the same time and coming back on at about the same time after 9 count them 9 hours, each night!

Whatever it is they are doing is just a little too planned....So, we may have the same thing happen tonight...and I won't have any power again...and I'm wilting fast here from the incredible humidity....!

Help Me Oh Nurse....!

Update: 1:45pm- The Power went out again....Yes, my dears, A-F**cking-gain....at 11am...And came back on about 20 minutes ago! I am living in a Third World Country, for sure! So I hope it stays on, but I'm not counting on anything here...

And all you movie buffs will get this reference:
PRAY FOR ROSEMARY'S BABY!

More Later.....

Me again, Naomi.
Thank you so much for your nice comment about my family's photos. I love also seeing other peoples family pictures. I have a lot of photos of my mother and father as a baby and young and I have also a lot of photos of me as a baby, toddler, little girl, adolescent etc. I have many photos because the brother of my grandfather was a photographer and he must have carried a camera with him very often, I think. My godfather liked to take pictures very often too, so I have many albums and box full of pictures.
As I have a twin sister, almost all photos from my childhood were taken of me and my sister together. It’s too bad she don't like to see her photo on Internet.
Goodby for now!

Power outages are much easier to tolerate in winter. You can just get under covers and go to sleep. Good luck and hopefully they will have this done before tonight.

Now, now Naomi... let's not pull out our hair over this lol.. you have to admit.. 20 minutes is better then 9 hours! (of course it's not night time yet either).. I had a funny vision just now.. Naomi head-butting Arnold S. over the electric in CA lol lol...(however, he's a big guy and you are not that tall.. you just might head-butt the right area and get some action from it! LOL)

Power cuts are definitely not good in the heatwave I understand is sweeping most of the US.

Hope that you can keep your cool. I'll pray for a good stiff breeze!

Oh my lands Naomi! So sorry about the power being out. I hope it stays on now permanently for you. It's so hot here and humid too. Going to be a hot week.

Fingers crossed that it'll stay on.

Oh no that is just lousy, I would be beyond annoyed by now.
We had a big power cut a few weeks ago it is amazing how much we depend on electricity isn't it.
I hope it does not continue for too long.

Hi dear Naomi,
I'm back online and am sorry to hear about the power outages. It sounds like Nigeria or Burma.

I also agree it's mighty fishy that the outtages are so predictable. Many years ago the same thing happened one summer when I was visiting the kids in Los Angeles. However, at that time the power company announced the outtages in advance so folks could prepare. Not that it made things any more pleasant!

I need to catch up on my Naomi- reading so I'll sign off for now.
Sending love and prayers for patience,
lucyd

I hate power failures as well. Especially if you are working on something on the PC and suddenly everything goes blank and dark.

Did I hear you call for a nurse? Maybe I can hop a flight out to LA.
I did hear about your power outages on the national news tonight...they told people to conserve because of the extreme heat you're having there right now. Sounds to me like THEY are doing the conserving for you.
NOT good not to have a/c in that heat, so do try and stay cool. Hope this is only temporary for you.+6

Good grief! That is more than annoying. One doesn't realize how much they use their power until it's not there. I'm so sorry!

They've ruffled the sweet lady into saying the "F" word!!!!! Sorry that I'm laughing!
And if it was me, I think the lack of computer would piss me off more than the lack of air-conditioning.

But, it sounds like they're doing rolling black-outs, I heard that on the National news, large cities were worried about how much load they could take because the whole COUNTRY is in a heat wave right now (except Seattle!)

But, it's not right not to tell people, there are sick or older people that need air-conditioning and water and God knows, maybe medical equipment. That's really bad.

If these outages are planned, they should have informed all the residents beforehand. I'm sure you are hating it without AC for hours at a time.
I hope you have some good, high powered fans going to keep the air circulating.
You have every reason to be PISSED!!
We are spoiled with our conveniences, by golly, and we want them. I wilt without AC too, so I feel your pain. Hang in there, and keep on cussing to get yourself through it!! :)

The flowers are so amazingly beautiful!
All I can say is..... WOW!!!!!
Nature's magic indeed.

ILLEGITIMUM NON CARBORUNDUM!!!

Fie upon the DWP!!

Some jealous sniveling servant was probably chortling, "heh-heh-heh this'll fix those plutocrats who have view property".

Unplanned power outages are bad news-that's for sure! But planned ones can be fun. Florida Power and Light used to turn off the power before a hurricane hit to prevent shorting out the transformers. Hurricane party!! kerosene lamps! Candles! corn popped over the glass lamp chimney.....Grady Norton tracking the storm...
