Very pretty greenery!! Today is very yucky so it's nice to see something so pretty!!
Hope you are doing well my friend!
Just when I think I've seen it all in your garden, you post more exotics. I guess because they are always changing.
What fragile beauty are those prickly thorns protecting?
Good Monday morning Naomi ! How did you sleep ?
Hope that you have a really good day today - it is so sunny (even though it is s cold this morning !) and clear, the view must be excellent !
There is such amazing variety in your garden. Obviously you love your succulentls, and they bloom profusely for you, basking in the attention you give them :)
Do you do it yourself, and/or do you have an excellent gardener you have had for years to help you with all this ?
Either way, clearly all the plants are beautifully taken care of - and it shows !
Loving Annie
I'm always getting scarred by rose thorns etc in the garden and wonder if you manage to avoid those spikes?
I hope so:)
So green, and tropical... I can feel the sunshine! But rather spiky, I wouldn't want to fall into a garden full of those beautiful plants!
One wonders if anyone looks as closely at the sculpture of nature's array of plant-life the way the lens of your camera sees them. Rhank you for showing us what we probably might never have seen through the same eyes.
Your photograps are beautiful, much more impressive than what I saw at the art show over the weekend.
Thanks for sharing more of your view from the hills, Naomi.
Naomi, I knew absolutely nothing about cacti before I started reading your blog. Thanks for educating me! These photos are wonderful.
I always lack words when you show your garden, it is more than amazing and beautiful! and you have the right eye to capture everything.
You know I opened your page and thought you had lettuce growing! What neat and unusual cacti...I always just love your garden and you have so much variety!
soooo, you learned a new word from Emerel eh? hehehe.. "bam!".. I love the fact that just at the right time of year your plants put out their presents for the birds !
I remember "winter in LA" and miss it! Sure nothing like the East coast! brrrrrrrrr lol
Beautiful photos. It's one of the things I always notice when I get to LA in the winter-- the green and the flowers blooming when up here it's so different
those are beautiful
It's still hard for me to equate winter with green, being a Canadian lol...One yr I was in AZ and Mexico during the xmas season...I remember being in awe of the weather, oranges on the trees, walking around in shorts...I just posted a pic in blog today of the snow we got this week, in one day ..LOL What a contrast to your pics !!!
Definitely not what I see when I look out the winter at our SNOW!!!! Wanna trade?
Living sculptures alright. You couldn't make this up even if you tried. Isn't nature wonderful?
I *heart* succulents.
Naomi, I love your gardening posts. For one thing you have fabulous gardens with really interesting plants, but more than that I think it's the passion and evident joy that it brings you that you transmit when you write your comments and show your plants from all their best angles. Thank you for sharing that.
Always attractive photos and intriguing plants. The needles or stickers are really vicious looking up close. Sounds like you've tried most, if not all, the cacti fruit in your garden. You must have really studied all these plants. Don't know how you can keep track of them all.
What lovely pictures, the cacti almost look like corals from under the sea.
It is FREEEEEEZZZINg here, it is nice to see sunny pictures.
With all the Bam Bam Bams going on in this post, I thought I'd accidentally gone on to Emeril's blog.
:-)
Luckily, we are not having any of those awful ice storms like they are having in MO and other states.
My hubby's family are all in the St. Louis area.
They are dealing with the ice.
It's pretty, but it's very dangerous.
Your cacti really are natural sculptures.
It would be hard for an artist to top the beauty that's in your garden!!
I like that you take more than one angle for your photos.
Amazing photos as ever! I love the irony that plants so well suited for the desert, can look so lush and green. They are simply gorgeous and such a riot of colour, texture and shape!
Amazing Naomi!! You take such great pictures!
What an amazing plant, that Euphorbia! I've never seen one in real life. I particularly like your gorgeous closeup shot of it, 2nd one in the series of green, but it's hard to choose a favorite. Your photos are a treat.
(Sigh, I agree about your observations regarding the mansion being built near you. Those animals and nature being displaced is so sad.)
Hope the shredding goes smoothly and leaves you feeling much lighter very soon.
