I am loving these shots, are they Senecios macroglosus by chance?
Also, what camera are you using, is it a DSLR or a point and shoot??
Oh so many questions... sorry!
Here from Michele's this evening!!!
You are so good with that camera. I'm pretty good myself. Glad that I found you.
You are sooo good with that camera. So am I (he said modestly).
I have a theory that you Naomi, and F:lux who is a photographer on my side bar, have a special lens in your eyes that enables you to see with the naked eye something that we lesser mortals can only see when it is captured on film for us.
Lovely! I am referring to both the photographs and the subject! Those seed puffs look so delicate and soft! I love how the light shines through them.
I can't help but notice the similarity with a certain fine young fluffy gentleman that keeps you com pany and purrs, LOL! But of course Sweetie is even more gorgeous! :)
I feel like touching these flower puffs. I think it's funny they remind you of Ted Danson's hair, and I know what you mean! LOL (And for the record, I don't want to touch Ted Danson's hair!)
Thanks again, Naomi, for sharing more of your beautiful world with us.
This is truly one of the most amazing plants I've ever seen.
And your expert photography skills captured it all perfectly for us to enjoy.
Those whisps of white borders on the mystical.
Thanks for sharing.
I looked at the previous post and this one to get the full effect. What an amazing plant and what great photos! You should do one of those giant coffee table photo books I've seen before with all of your flower and nature shots in it. It would be a best seller!
So much detail in the pictures, Naomi. You must have a super camera.
Michele sent me this way.
Naomi,
the combination of your dedecation to "the small things" like bees and flowers combined with your knowledge of entertaiment: The Bees and guys and dolls - a happy living - What a show - even with modern Tech - yeah even better
Something like that
Guess we are looking forward to meet you next summer?
btw. I'll call from FL.
gorgeous pictures. I love the bee shots.
Michele sent me over to say hello
These photos are magnificent! You really have been blessed with a gift!
Lovely photos, Naomi. They are so silvery! I wish my hair was like that!
I didn't think you could top the last ones, but I love these closeups on the puffy Sweetie-Flowers. (wink).
I esp. love the ones with blue sky, and also the ones with the green taller leaves.
Ted Danson would be honored. lol
Michele sent me this time. :)

As ALWAYS, you leave me wanting more and loving what you've given me! My daughter said, "WOW! Look at THOSE wish flowers!"
Michele sent me to admire your scenecios!
Oh my nose is tickling! These are so light, fluffy, and fun. I want to blow them.
I genuinely love what you do with your camera and I'm fascinated with the bounty and variety of flowering plants in your garden. What a marvelously beautiful calendar you could produce with photos captured like the ones in today's post.
Hello, Michele sent me to tell you how lovely those photos are. They are a good subject, but your talent has definitely brought them to life. I enjoyed these (and the review info from the Spoon River Anthology post).
My comment just vanished - I'm not sure if it posted or not. Michele sent me over to admire your wonderful flower photos, it is not always easy catching the right light.
Michele sent me today, but I'm always somewhere around here.
Those photos are so cool, I just wanted to reach into my laptop screen and run my fingers over that beautiful white fluff.
Thank you, thank you so much for showing us all such beauty in nature.

Such beauty! in every single stage of life :)
(Thanks so much, dear Naomi, thank you very, very much *wink*)
you definitely have "the eye" for capturing God's creation in action ...
i love to stop by here to see what you have posted lately ... :o)
I'm laughing at what you said about Ted Danson's hair!!
BTW, I'm addicted to Damages. I started taping it from the beginning because Glenn Close stars in it, and she is usually quite wonderful. The show really captured my interest. There's so many unknowns and such suspense as to what all is actually going on that we don't know about yet.
We've got wild berry bushes growing by the hundreds around here. They look so pretty. I'll e-mail you a photo. They have a neat series of tranformations too, like your senecios.
They start out with little white flowers. Each flower turns into a green berry, which turns into a dark purple berry. The stalk and stems of the plants are purple, and the leaves are green.
You are so good at this! You never miss. Thanks.
This lovely soft white fluff looks like you could stuff a pillow with it and sink back in comfort while breathing in the scent of Mother nature. Lovely photos. Your garden must be a dream garden!!
Been to Cal. only once but if I'm ever totally across the Country again I want to visit you and your garden. What an amazing sight!
I've been a bad, bad blogger lately because we are doing some painting and have had the computer unplugged, but I am glad I checked in. Your posts are always a feast for the eyes. And the Short People always enjoy the photos too.
That is eye candy! Great shots. I had a whale of a time looking at those photos! You are so good with the camera!
Michele sent me here to enjoy myself!
Sure is pretty Naomi!! You must have a good camera. I feel like I can reach out and touch them! Makes me want to upgrade my camera!!
They do look like hair and/or somewhat like a feather duster as well.
Hope you are having a great weekend!! XXX
Hi, thanks for visiting. I need you camera - too gorgous! The puffy parts remind me of the trees in Dr. Suess's "The Lorax".
You can tell I've got kids, huh? LOL!
Glad to be back here. The photos are too good to be seen once.
No wonder Michele sent me again!
Light & puffy and it looks like cotton wool to me too. I'm intrigued by such beauty Naomi, thank you :D
So glad Michele sent me again and I can feast my eyes once more. But Naomi - is nothing sacred? Ted Danson with white hair? It seem only yesterday he was young and handsome and behind the bar at 'Cheers'
Oh well - none of us are as young as we were:(
I love so much those photos, Naomi! You did a good job with your camera! Those photos are so real that I just feel like touching these delicate flower puffs!
Have a lovely and pleasant Sunday! Many hugs!
your close ups are marvelous. better than de mille's.
the sunlight looks like it's shining on snow.
thanks for sharing.
mck.
So furry! :)
You really ought to teach photography. I'd be your first student.
I swear I can feel the puffs on my screen. The delicate beauty isn't limited to the flowers themselves: it extends to the way in which they've been captured, shared and described.
