More To Come.....
Spectacular pictures, Naomi!
Michele sent me here.
Magnificent photos...as usual. My father was a beekeeper; but for only 42 years. We know bees.
These close-ups are amazing. How do you do it?? I need a REAL camera and a house in the hills! :)
The photograph with the nectar has me buzzing:)I'm constantly amazed at your pictures. Isn't it strange how your bees are different to ours which I believe are smaller. Maybe Paul would know?
Wonderful pictures, Naomi! Those close up are stunning! Sure, looks like the bee has sunglasses on! LOL!
Have a nice weekend!
Miss Rebecca and I love the bee with sunglasses on his butt lol.
Emmy day tomorrow, have to go dig out my Aunty Em emmy shirt.
Glad to hear it has cooled down for you too !
These pictures are just fantastic- but by now I am not surprised!! :)
Hope you're having a good weekend!
Junie
We went to the cactus place today to replace some of the echevaria that died in the heatwave. Saw lots of little bees there! :)

P.S. Michele says hello!
Beautiful pictures Naomi -- but I jsut sit here wondering how the heck you get to take them. Astounding!
We have some bushes that get covered with bees --- next time I notice htem I must try to photo them too!
Michele sent me,
N.
Great photos once again. What kind of camera have you got? One thing I discovered about bees - they're not camera shy!

Your Love Coach
Wow! Looks like you got up close and personal with the bees. Very cool!
I love the curlicues on the flowers, Naomi, and it is great to see the bees in action, since their numbers have dwindled recently. Happy New Year!
Glad to see you have your beloved bees after your worried post last spring.
Here from Michele
I love your photos! I have fun as an amateur sleuth trying to figure out where you are and I've picked out a house on Google Earth. The funny thing is I'm probably 100 miles off! (To readers here, it's all in fun. I'm totally benign!)
Love the photos! Nice to see how everything works out the way it should. I learned last week that the size and shape of hummingbirds' beaks is in direct correlation to the flowers they help pollinate. Quite amazing things.
Michele sent me.
Hi Naomi! From birds to bees...I see more clearly the designs of inner flower. Great pics. Looking forward to more...
OMIGOD - I was impressed by the pictures of hummingbirds, but these easily outclass those.....
What amazing pictures of our much maligned bee.
Brits are irrationally fearful of bees, classing them with wasps. I like bees and like to watch them as they flit from flower to flower.
I 'embiggened' the photo of the bee with nectar on his wings, and you could see the droplets :-)
Michele sent me to say hi this time, but I'm usually hanging around like a devoted fan :-))

Awesome photos!
I'm so glad to hear it's cooling down out your way. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and stay cool!
Love these photos like all others you post. These flowers are very unique, they almost look like something we would find underwater for some reason, with the curly q's...they seem to belong in an exotic aquarium or something like that lol...
Great macro pics Naomi! This is actually taking the story about the birds and the bees to another dimension LoL
Wishing you a great week ahead!
hi Michele sent me!
Those are some truly awesome pics!! I especially love the one with the dew on the wings. Lovely! You're a very good photographer :-)
Hi Naomi, Michele sent me this time...Love the photos! I think it is so cool!!!
Hope you had a great week-end and that it has cooled down a bunch for you!!!
What gorgeous(!) photographs. I love the one of the the little curlique on his butt.
It's difficult to get pictures of insects so clear, and so close up. What a great job.
awesome
but I never expect anything less
p.s. please do send me that e-vite thing again. I somehow deleted it by accident.
Naomi! We did go to CA Cactus in Pasadena (on Rosemead)! And they are everything you said they are. So nice, so helpful and friendly! We loved wandering around and seeing everything... they actually do seem to have... well, everything!
~S :)
Always when I see your terrific pictures, I think to myself, "Jamie Dawn! You need a better camera!!"
You really get some wonderful shots.
My brother called me this afternoon. He's been in Virginia playing for a choral workshop and the concert which was last night.
He called me while he was driving to play for something tonight.
He's a busy one that fellow!! He asked about you and I told him I keep in touch with you through your blog and occasionally by email.
I'm going to read your previous post now.
Well, you get the busy bees , we get the flies this time of the year!!
Lovely pictures as always. Glad to hear you weather is more pleasant now !
These photos are absolutely wonderful. Bees are fascinating creatures and you have captured them magnificently - as ever! I like bees too :)
Thank you for your recent comment on my blog and the others too. I am faring much better now, though the funeral is tomorrow and Jess' death still hangs heavy with me. Getting away was definitely the right thing for me to do though. I do hope you and your friend are okay too. Sending you best wishes from Vienna.
Just yesterday I was watching a bee on my butterfly bush and thinking I needed to take a picture of it. You beat me to it again! Great shots and I've never seen dew on a bee's wings, probably because I don't get that close. I'm allergic to their stings. We have mostly the type of bees that live in the ground. They look like a cross between a bee and a beetle. They're rather large and slow moving, but they don't sting. I like them just fine.
Poor Bob-Kat! Have a good week Naomi:)
I can't help it, but your posts about the bees and flowers are a fav for me - and you put it all into the correct state: sustainability.
Thanks for your sharing of another fantastic voyage in your garden the the important life there.
ps - i'm so eager the read your votes
The first couple look almost like they're under water. Another one looks like Dear Bee is levitating.
Wish my hair would curl like that.
Been waiting ALL day to have an Emmy discussion with you.
James Spader??? Noooo!!
Yay for Jaime Pressly! America Ferrara (but, Ugly Betty is not a comedy to me), & 30 Rock.
It's a long, long time from May to December but the bees are drinking it all in as if every day is a year in which to capture and sweeten the earth we live on.
Naomi, I just love the life in your garden. You did a great job of capturing the bees doing their deeds.
Tasty looking flowers. If I was a bee, I'd head right for them!
