halloween boo!

Halloween is almost upon us, and I thought it would be lots of fun to post some clips from some good and some not so good Horror Films! And because I just did a post about Eva Gabor, here is a clip with Eva and The King of Horror Films, the always wonderful Vincent Price! Enjoy!

And here below....Some "trailers" of Horror Films most have us have never heard of and are happy we haven't....These are kind of funny, mostly because they are kind of "C" movies---that is even below "B".....(lol)

And in these clips, that is my dear old friend and wonderful actor, Bert Remsen who is having his head crushed in by some kind of Sea Monster...LOL....I'll be honest. I didn't even know he had made a horror film....Well, I'm sure there is a reason for that.....Like maybe because it wasn't very good? Anyway...these are kind of fun, too....

And, last but not least on this Halloween Eve, we have "The Trail Of The Screaming Forehead"....This is a new film made by the same folks who brought you "The Lost Skeleton Of The Cadavra"....Both these films are tongue-in-cheek Horror Films that are take-offs of the very very low budget Science-Fiction/Horror Films of the early 1950's. These two films have a special place in my heart because Andy Parks, Betty Garrett's younger son, is in them. And in fact, Betty has a Cameo in "Screaming Forehead" along with Keven McCarthy.....If you are not sure who he is, look him up on IMDB. Among many distinguished performances, he was the star of a very famous low-budget 1960's film that but I just cannot think of the name, at this moment....

Happy Happy Halloween to you all.....Have fun and don't eat too much candy....LOL!

More To Come......Boo!

I haven't seen a single one of those movies, Naomi. I need to sit in front of the silver screen a bit more, I guess. I don't think I have a favorite Halloween movie though I used to like "The Nightmare before Christmas" quite a bit.

Vincent Price had that voice that would give you goosebumps...even if he were saying, "I love you." A classic actor.

I liked the flashy witch on the top of the post. Have fun tomorrow! It looks like we're not going trick or treating...a storm's brewing in the Caribbean and heading our way. I think we'll stay home and watch scary movies and eat chocolate!

My favorite part is the flasher witch. But that might be because I can't really watch horror movies. I'm just too impressionable I guess. Have to admit, I'm not very fond of halloween. Everybody gets really excited about it and I just wait till it's over. Not sure why that is, but there you have it.

I was thinking of you this morning, Naomi, but you beat me to the visit.

These are quite spooky! I hope they don't give me nightmares. Can you believe that Joe and I watched THE BLOB in the Hotel Floyd the other night. I saw it when I was a young girl and it scared me then, so it was fun to see again. Very B- camp.

The last one might have been a take-off on The Hand, which I saw as a teenager.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Vincent Price!!
I used to watch his scary movies and I loved them too! He was such a perfect, creeeepy fellow.
Mad Magician indeed!

That screaming forehead thing is a HOOT!
I really got a chuckle out of it. I love the part when the forehead talks!!

My daughter and I are going to Little Rock tomorrow night to see the 3D version of The Nightmare Before Christmas. I will be fun. She is going to dress like Pippi Longstocking and I'm going to wear my bobbly-eared headband.
What fun it will be!

Have something sweeeet tomorrow, Naomi.
I will too!! :-)

Thanks for that Naomi. Some are just hilarious.
I love Vincent's lines 'It was a head A human head!'
When he was quite old and about to marry Coral Browne she went to choose a marital bed and was told it would take six weeks. She said her husband was in his seventies and she couldn't wait that long:)

And a big boo to you! :) Some of these clips are hilarious!

Halloween has never been traditionally celebrated in the UK like it has in the US but trick or treating seems to be catching on these days.

I do hope you are feeling much better now after your mishap.

"I'm really going to miss her
A tomato ate my sister."

From "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes".

My sons wouldn't believe me when I sang that to them. I had to search out the video and rent it.

Cult classic.

I was telling a friend here yesterday that I wished a local theater here showed Rocky Horror. My sons and I used to go every weekend in San Francisco. I have the dvd now but it loses a lot without the audience participation.

Great clips and yes I do know who Kevin McCarthy is. He does the horror thing very well but I hadn't seen that one.

We had our Halloween scare last night. We're close enough to San Jose to feel that 5.6 quake.

We won't have as much of Halloween here in the UK, although I've been in the US a few times when its been on and it really seems big for the kids.

Don't you just love Vincent Price? I am a horror fanatic...not as much now as I was when I was younger. As a teen I inhaled "Children of the corn." "Cujo." The Nightmares on Elm Streets, the Halloweens (still love Jamie Lee Curtis) and Friday the 13ths. I even loved the Scream series. But the new ones like the Saw ones just are so gross and over the top terror that I can't take it. I think we've gone a bit far. What about suspense?

Anyway that was a fun post and I hope you have a very Happy Halloween. I know you have some REAL Goblins and Ghouls out there so be careful!!!

I wonder if the flashing witch is what is meant by "bats in the bellfry?

My favorite scary movie stars Eva's sister Zsa Zsa and is called "Picture Mommy Dead." Don Ameche and Martha Hyer also star and it's a real hoot (and yet I was absolutely terrified as a child).

LOVED Andy's "Lost Skeleton" movie but haven't seen the other one. That would be perfect for tonight!

Don't imagine you get all that many trick-or-treaters in your parts. We get a TON, mostly because the word is out that Kendall gives out full size candy bars!

Thanks Naomi for the "Fright Film Clip Festival" -- reminds me of the days when they would show 3 of them in a row at the drive-in!

Vincent Price came to Bozeman, Mt when I was in college to talk to our Film and TV Dept students -- he was very nice and it was a great treat to meet him way back then. He really was so very TALL!

Thanks for the fun tonight!

Naomi, hello am unable to see photo's today on your blog. But any way growing up in NYS, a time when there were very few tv station. Friday nights,TV show called Fright Theater, different scary movies, that came on a midnight. The Mummy, Frankenstein, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, and such, and Vincent Price, was one of the few actors that I remeber by name. But gota tell the music that played before the movie actually started was so scary, it could make a body pee it's self. So one would need to go turn down the volume, until movie actually started. And yes I did say go turn volume down, no remote's :)p

But I have to say that forehead one...that was a hoot! MORE like a comedy than horror....lol
