Well, this is as much as blogger will let me do....I wish they would get this picture-loading problem solved, once and for all...it is really getting me p.o'd....So, hopefully I will be able to show you more next time.....Grrrrrr......Blogger! Maybe with Mercury going forward today, blogger will get it together...we can only hope....
More To Come.....
You're right about Mercury, Naomi. Our communications at every level are better when it isn't retrograde!
Thanks for the reminder about Mad Men; I WILL be watching!
YOur plants are fascinating. I love the one with the pinkish edges!
Never mind Naomi- it's quality rather than quantity that counts. I find with Picasa I can only easily do four at a time or have to repeat the whole date business. They are lovely to look at and quite lethal I imagine with their sharp bits. I wonder if nature put them there for a purpose?
Such beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing.
I've heard alot of good things about Mad Men, I'm glad they're starting from the beginning.
These plants are just stunning, Naomi. It amazes me how many different and beautiful ones there are....and SO many are in your lovely hills.
Thanks SO much for telling us about Mad Men. As you know...I caught a couple of the very last ones. I'll be watching! It was great TV viewing!
Cactus - ouch ! Useful and you have to be very careful around them !
Your posts and pictures are` always great Naomi - not to worry about having 'enough' - you do so much, share so generously with us !!!
Stunning photos, as always, Naomi!
Although, I must say that it looks from the likes of these ones that you are living on a different planet from the one I live on!
Michele sent me today,
N.
oh i LOVE the succulent picture! i love the color/texture bit.
glad to know its not just me fighting blogger again. i LOVE free blogging, so i guess i get what i pay for.
I just finished watching Mad Men. I loved it. Looking forward to watching more.
I love the first photo - very clever I think.
And don't woryy, blogger annoys me a little too often at times...
Enjoy your weekend.
Michele sent me to visit tonight & I'm so glad I did- those pictures are beautiful- I've never seen cactuses like those- of course I have yet to venture further west than Houston TX, so that would account for it!
really like the succulent- you're right it looks like an overview of some alien landscape.
Naomi, I tried SO hard to stay awake for Mad Men. I watched it almost all the way through, but I fell asleep at about 10:30 and woke up at 10:55, so I caught the last minute or two.
I liked what I saw of it, but I can't believe people were so sexist then, and woman took all that crap from the men....LOL
That first one looks amazing; and the second one (sort of) looks like what we call a Grass Tree (use to be a Black Boy before we got all PC!), it is called Xanthorea (sp, I am tired). But the third, is it an Echivera by chance? We have a few around the place here and if it was not raining, I would go and grad a pic, maybe over the weekend...
Here from Michele's this evening...

I loved the serrate edges of the first one. Great photos!
Good to be back here from Michele!
i absolutely love the colors in that last photo.. your love of your plants always shows in the photo's you take!
Gorgeous photos!!
I liked your Halloween post too!
Have a wonderful day!

That last picture does look alien - or medical... [grin].
I think I've seen similar pictures recently of the surface of Mars!
hi naomi! hope you haven't forgotten me...;)
it is so great to finally have the time to visit and read all your wonderful stories again. i have missed how you always make your experiences come alive for us. your garden is lovely, as it has always been. the only thing i seemed to have been lucky in missing out on is the problems you guys seem to have had with blogger lately...:)
Your garden is very wonderful and I love the pictures. :)
Gorgeous photos Naomi. I think you did great justice to those plants by shooting them in close up the way you did. They truly look like sculptures. Especially the first Agave. I'd love to take that image and turn it into a black and white image. Would look like one of those great photos from the late 30's that someone like Ansel Adams might have taken. Thanks for showing these to us. It's a pleasure to look at.
Hope you're feeling better.
xx

Beautiful shots!!! You have such an amazing garden!!
Wishing you a very wonderful weekend!
Don't you wish you could smack Blogger around sometimes? I like the Dasyliriun....I've never seen it and I like the way it shoots for the stars!
Alas Mad Men is out of my range but I'm enjoying a second look at your lovely succulents - courtesy of Michele.
Cactus in the garden can never be seen in Norway you know - so I have to come to you to see it - thanks for sharing!
Mad Man? hmmmmmm there is nothing of that in Norway either - at least on TV *giggles*
Wishing you a wonderful end to your week :-)
Shoot! If only I'd seen this last night. lol
I love that first photo esp. What a great eye you have. I love it. Actually, I loved how interesting and unusual all of the photos were. I was in your garden and failed to notice that succulent from another planet. lol
~S
I love the Dasylirion. It's an elegant plant and one that would look beautiful anywhere in the garden or in the home. I want one!
LOL! That LAST succulent plant looks like perhaps it belongs down in the post about Eva Gabor! Maybe in the fake doggy stuff portion.... LOL! Nooooo... actually it looks like brains.... hehehe... well, it IS the strangest looking plant I have EVER seen!
I loved your story about Miss Gabor, by the way -- she is QUITE a character! I'm very impressed though that your boss stood up for you in that situation! :)
You know... I would DO the renewing our vows thing... but I still can't get Dennis inside a church - and I'm AFRAID if I did, he might say "I don't"!!! LOL!
I think it looks like pretty pink brains! Oh, I missed the ten o'clock show. I've never heard of it. Will it be on every week?
Hi from Michele's.
We have a plant similar to the dasy lirion (is that right?) but thicker 'leaves', I am not sure what it is. My favorite plant, a giant lantana bush, is not faring so well, and I'm thinking that I need to learn some green thumb basics. Someday my plants will be as beautiful as yours are!
You always have such freaky plants around you! I love it!
It's me again! Michele sent me this time, and I'm glad she did though you don't need much prompting to come all by myself anymore! I enjoyed looking at your pics again. They really are gorgeous.
As always, I thoroughly enjoy the photos and additional descriptive tidbits about your plants.
Had to go back and take more time to read your Lena Horne post again. I watched that show on PBS -- she was fantastic -- have loved her performances since I first saw her in a movie as a child -- so sexy at every age.
Just stunning photos, Naomi! Looks surreal and amazing! You did a good job here!
Have a nice weekend!
I have mentioned before what a wonderful sculptor nature is and you ahve provided yet more proof in your wonderful photographs! Such variation in form, texture and colour. Your garden really is a gallery of natural beauty!
I love the plant life in California. Being from NY, it looks so alien.
It's amazing the things that you can see in your own yard!
That is nature's art indeed!!
I especially like the shapes and shadows in that first photo.
My camera broke yesterday. DRAT!!!
I recorded all the episodes of Mad Men. It really is a great show. There's so many dimensions to the characters and their stories. The season ender left me begging for MORE!!!!
