I see you've come into the big money! Who needs the lottery huh?!!! LOL!
show business or other businesses.. doesn't it make you wonder where their heads are? The cost of the paper and stamp vs the 6 cents on a check... I got one sent to me once for 29 cents and the stamp is 37... duh...
Can't believe it... you are a rich lady now !
I think you will enjoy my thursday pics :)
Gotta love those residuals. They might be small but they keep rollin' in year after year. Having a few more digits on the check would be nice tho. No matter how many checks you get for 6 cents you're not going to be on Easy Street.
Thanks for sharing this one.
That's the reason I choosed not to be in showbiz in this tiny country where I live.
Yes, I've been into it. Even as representant and member of a Theather Group on Festivals abroad. And making /writing comedy shows. And been on film, Radio and TV.
But ended up with IT. Mostly as paper magazin writer and now on the net.
Why? As the only one to pay all bills for a wife and 4 kids...
So now I've been luckely married for 25 years (Dec 3 this year) and my X as our sister - we are all happy - the "kids" as well (born in 1968-69-75-77)) where as the 2 youngest is working in the US.
Have more relatives in your country than here.
OK. This is an open letter. Let it be. 'cause your blogfriends seems to be very openhearted and kind people.
btw: Have you heard from Vence, my friend there? use my e-mail
My wife also gets checks from SAG with residuals of 1 cent.
Now don't you go and spend all that loot in one place now ya hear *giggles*.
I'm off to get my SAG card right this minute!
They really ought to save up those checks until the total is at last $1.....LOL
We used to get dividend checks from an electric cooperative that were for about $ 1.25 per year. The CPA said they were more trouble than they were worth!
HAHAHA...at least you got paid;)
They didn't want you to go on a spending spree obviously!! Gee whiz!! Is this going into your laptop account? If so it'll take a loonnnggg time!!! :)
You can't even afford a pack of gum!!
Spend that 6 cents wisely, and then put the other one in savings for a rainy day. :)
Are you sure that isn't for 91 million ?
I am still waiting on five checks from my agent but they are for a bit more then that LOL
OH no! And to think some now get 30 million per movie! I think that is crazy...I don't care who you are. We could wipe out hunger for children in the US for that.
And what are you going to buy us all??!!
I take it those are royalty checks? Wow Naomi, you're really raking it in! LOL You folks get paid almost as much as us journalists!
Michele sent me, yada yada...
Michele sent me too, and I hope you have a great weekend.
I'm glad they spent more money on sending you your checks than you got. But at least it's something. I can't tell you how many people try to call me up to help them decorate a set for free, because it would "look great on a resume." hahaha. Not that I would work for 97 cents though haha.
Oooohhh that is sooo nice. That's why I wanted to be in showbiz. I want to rake alot of moolah. Hehehhehe and yes at the same time entertain people
You are just rolling in it, aren't you?? Residuals are a lovely thing. LOL
Here by way of michele today, my dear!
That's what I thought it said! It must be a royalty check, I'm guessing. I guess you have to wait till they add up before cashing?
I don't want to do the interview right now...maybe cause my bathroom is brown and I don't want anyone to know. Ha! I inherited it. It's a log home. You can only do so much.
Ha...you are still makin' more than I am. LOL
Have a great day.
Hi Naomi! What a fortune! Lol!
I love reading all your comments! Very funny and creative!
Yay! Now you can take me out to dinner at McDonalds. haha.
That's hilarious!!! Makes you wonder why they bother, don't you? I remeber getting a tax return for 45c once, and the stamps cost 45c at the time. Stupid hey?
Funds for a new IRA??
"Indeterminate Retirement Account"
Just think of what $1.02 would be worth compounded annually. No telling how wealthy you could be if you don't draw on it!
I find it incredibly ironic that they call these "royalties". There is, after all, nothing remotely royal about the amounts.
It stuns me how difficult life is for the 99.7% of SAG members who aren't in Richard Gere's or Halle Berry's league. The disparity in income is staggering.
Thank you for allowing us to smile at the irony, Naomi. I hope you had a wonderful week!
Hey, don't spend it all in one place! :)
ROFLMBO! That is tooooooo funny! That is as good as Hecht Company sending me a bill every month for a looooooooong loooooooooong time for $00.17 ... and it kept gaining interest! So when it finally got to a quarter I taped one on the bill and sent it back to them! LOL!
May I please borrow 91 cents?
