breathtaking beauty

Nature stuns us with it's color combinations and it's variety of shapes.....and, it's endless surprises in design. There are no mistakes in nature.....It is all perfect, whether we think so, or not.....Colors that shouldn't go together do----Shapes that seem to be at odds, aren't, at all.....Only in nature is the miraculous totally possible every time you look at a flower, for instance...... The Orchid is endlessly fascinating. There are so many kinds and so many color combinations......I could look at an Orchid for hours and not be bored. There is so much to see.......And so much to marvel at.....This is a very complex flower in just about every way---yet, in beauty, it is honest simplicity, itself. Oh....I want to take a closer look at this...... And then you have this view below, of another Orchid Blossom.....Each one really is different from the other......
And last, but not least....a different Blossom, once again...... I am in awe of these delicate, but strong flowers.....Endlessly engaging----I want more time with these gorgeous soft Blossoms......Okay? Okay. Here's one more for the road, as they say.......

More to come.........

the first shot almost looks like a shell. Every angle is stunning. They always surprise me at how hardy they are because they look so delicate.

I have never had an orchid flower but each time I see one now I think of you! They are so very lovely and unique in their shape. Now when I see them I stop and study them for awhile...again..thanks to you! With your posting photos of flowers so up close it has made me look at them more deeply than before. Not just orchids, but any flower. Thanks for sharing that gift Naomi! Hugs to you dear lady, and I hope Sweetie is doing well.

When I see this much beauty in nature I have to believe in a God, in a design plan, or at the very least, that artists helped in the design of creation. It's all just so beautiful and breathtaking.

I just find those photos incredibly sexy. Of course it is a most wonderful flower but it takes a Naomi to really portray its beauty. I'm going back to have another look.

ok, first let me say that just this very moment i left pat's blog where i mention the magnificent crimson and purple sunset over the marshlands at my cottage at the beach - i click to come here - and voila! this magnificent crimson and purple orchid! a flowering synchronicity -

and now, to this breathtakingly beautiful floral goddess! what else is there to be said - very georgia o'k-ish [whose work i adore] and whose paintings of flowers are very very sensual and sexy [totally agree with pat] - fantastic images of yours of this gorgeous flower - thanks so very much for sharing, naomi!

have a glorious remainder of your california day!

Hi Naomi,

What some beautiful shots, of a particularly lovely coloured bloom.

I love orchids, although here in the UK, we only see the cultivated varieties in pots.

There are some amazing colours and varieties available these days and they last such an amazingly long time. A much nicer gift than cut flowers to my way of thinking, and they flower so many times if cared for correctly.

It is of course, much nicer to see them growing wild, as with all things in nature.

What a lovely post,

Yvonne

Beautiful photos, Naomi.

Photo #2 looks like a little creature face waking up, and #7 (third from the bottom) looks like a little frog with his frog legs dangling.

Just great!
