the sensuality of nature

The Orchid is the most sensual flower in my eyes.....The colors, the shapes, and just about everything about many Orchids, I find very sensual, sexy and extremely beautiful. in every way........ As you can see above...this is a slightly closer and somewhat different view of this particular orchid....the variety of color is truly astounding to me....the subtlety of color, once again, is just so amazingly erotic...... The Yellow, The Lavender, The Shocking Pink, The Red.....The White....All of these colors in one flower....And, of course, the myriad of shapes, too.....It is all there in this picture below..... Look at that very dark red-almost-brown deep inside right next to the yellow.....I just find all of these colors so gorgeous....And the white right there in the center....simply amazing.....! I love the edges of those wing-like petals....slightly white and yellow, too.... And another view of the center of this Orchid....those edges still visible....I never tire of looking at flowers and/or photographing them---and particularly this particular Orchid.... The picture above is almost like an abstraction of 'the whole'.....I think this may be my favorite Orchid of all....though, I feel that about almost every Orchid I see....lol.....And one more...... In this one above, you can see those little tail like things on the ends of the top part of the inside....I love that the very ends become yellow....I know I say this over and over....but it bares repeating....there is nothing like natures magical creations.....If ever one needed proof, there it is above, in this stunning special flower.......

More To Come........

Note: Things are calming down a bit....I spent almost three hours with my Tax Man today, after spending many hours putting things in order for him.....and soon, that will be done, and then that will be one more thing behind me.....It was a beautiful warm lovely day here today, and that reminded me that Spring is really beginning to go into high gear here.....Hope all of you are 'well' and warming up too, wherever you are.......

Update: 1:40am-Friday, March 27th.....I did not have my computer all day until almost 10pm tonight....The "Wizard" worked on it a very very very VERY Long Time......I am worn out...! And I thought some of these hard things were behind me! HA!....Well, hopefully, the computer stuff is cleared up for a while....Now, if I can just get rid of the rest of The Dead Rats under my house....Hopefully, Saturday. Meanwhile.....I am going to take a well deserved rest......Hope everyone has a lovely weekend....! Stay Tuned.

I had to breathe a douzen times.
Your photos and the flowers are really, yes: breathtaking.

You see details most people never ever takes even a few seconds to watch. What a shame, so many people that are not aware of the beauty of the Nature so close.

When we last weekend did visit my daughters new family in spe (to come), I showed the photos I had taken during the day, and they were amazed what details I had observed.

It's so much beauty in the nature most people nowadays do not see.
They do not even understand the tremendous importance of Bees.
I say no more but:
You do a fabulous effort on your blog to make people aware of what's important for a sustainable globe.

btw. Sorry for my absense for a while. My right big toe seems to recover (hopefully).

It's still snow around here. And we might expect 6-10 inches more during the weekend. Grrr.

For us, the tax man cometh next week.

`Naomi! Remember Sophie Tucker's great comedy record "Max from the Income Tax"? (lol)!

I'm glad you're done with that!! Nothng, but nothing can cast a pall over life, and fill one's life with consternation like TAX PREPARATION!!!

As usual, your photos are exquisite, your words are magical.

Time to relax and enjoy!

Stunning as ever. I have a vague feeling that orchis is somethng to do with the male organ.
How about this:- 'Scientists have discovered an orchid that never needs to get a date—it can fertilize itself by performing a sexual act never before seen in flowers.'
You never know what's happening in the garden.
I'm going to join you - in spirit -with a week-end off and hope we can both feel refreshed and rejuvenated - rested anyway.
I'm glad you are gradually getting those tiresome jobs done. Take care. xoxox

They are lovely indeed! Wonderful photos as always!

It's raining here today, but we are warming up. Folks are beginning to mow their lawns and it won't be long before ours will need it too!

Glad you are getting some things done. I got the taxes taken care of last week. Ours is easy though. Nothing had changed since last year.

Get some much deserved rest!!! xxoxx

Naomi, just one of those things at a time is a trial - but having three at a time? I am so sorry. I have a friend who had rats in her basement and crawl space, and it was hard to get rid of them and then hard to get rid of the dead ones. I'm so sorry.

You are right about the moth orchids (phaelenopsis). They look like that to appeal to insects, so they will be pollinated.

Beautiul photo's and glad to hear that you have almost everything in order. I hate taxes to. My husband goes into over load each year when its time to file. Well i suppose. I need to go and rest. My mouth still hurts. Not as bad but it hurts.

I've allways been impressed how you communicate the beauty of flowers and what really matters to stay mother nature healthy and sustainable. Like bees and humble bees and birds and insects.

And now you have Rats? They eat what should be brought way. Useful, if not too many of them. They get rid of humans waste.

Taxes. Grrr. We got our precalculated tax for last year in the post to day. Positive, even before we have deducted our travelling costs to and from our work place(office). It might end up with and amount equal to a very cheap flight between Oslo and Chicago way out of season.

btw.My right big toe. Not at all healed. 4 doctors so far are very confused. Have never ever seen anything alike. New tests taken to day. Results next Thursday if not worse.
But we did have an unforgetable time with the parents of Ingelin's boyfriend. A very positive event, so say it mildly. Hurray.

have a prosperous weekend. If time, I might call you!!!

This morning we got 10 inches of snow. Oh, no no no, not now.

hugs
Tor

your orchards are just gorgeous Naomi..

I am glad your computer is finally "fixed" and that things (like taxes) will soon be a thing of the past (till next year).

Naomi,
The orchids ARE indeed incredibly sexy.
Of course, I think everything is sexy.
A fork is sexy, if you appreciate the cool metal, and the creativity that went into deciding on the shape, and the sheen of the silver and the sharp points of the tines versus the smooth handle. Well, you get my drift :)

Hope the rats are fully exterminated today. Ugh.

I couldn't agree with you more, they border on erotic (in a nice way) and really lull the admirer to look closely. Such beauty in nature it is a marvel!

First of all the orchids are beautiful! I love clicking on your closeups for a better view of your lovely flowers. I can never get enough of their colors and shapes.

We haven't begun to tackle our taxes, so you are one lucky woman to have that out of your hair.

I'm off to Mom's Night Out for dinner and dancing. I hope they let me break a few plates at the Greek restaurant, or I may have to let one fall "by accident." ;)

Enjoy your Saturday, my friend!! :)

You dirty girl, you!

I have said before your photos make me think of Georgia O'Keefe and these REALLY do... all those sexy flowers. So beautiful!

Glad to know you are back with us. I think I have just kicked a virus's ass and will post again in the next day or two.

As usual, the photos u share with us are breathtaking, the colours jump off the page!
We have sent off all our *tax stuff* to the accountant thankfully! Always glad when thats where it's supposed to be lol.
Spring has started to show it's face here also, although, we still have 3 foot banks of snow along the roads, we actually see spots of grass now!! Tomorrow when I go out, it will be the first day I don't put my winter boots on! That is the true mark of spring for me..it's so special after a long winter, and it even feels funny wearing shoes outside for the first time ...It's a moment I savour each year..since I was a little girl. We can never plant anything here untill atleast the end of may...but atleast the humidity here helps when we do, our summers are as lush as our winters are cold lol.

Rats. The only redeeming quality of snakes is they eat rodents. I'm not fond of either- I prefer they duke it out someplace other than in my garden.
