More To Come........
Hummingbirds are so much fun to watch, but we don't get them down here in Texas very often...I've seen them in Colorado when we would go camping. You have lots of wild life in your area... I wonder if you will get any baby hawks this year?
Hi
Beautiful hummingbird pictures thanks so very much.
They remind me of the hummingbirds that visited our garden in Trinidad.
Used to love watching them as a child.
Remember that I could happily sit very still and watch them for hours.
Have a good Sunday.
Love,
Herrad
Beautiful photos, Naomi! I especially like the colors on the last one, and I can't wait to see more birds from your garden. They're always so busy and I love how you catch them in the act.
Your photography is an oasis on which my eyes find rest. Thank you for another wonderful post
You give David Attenborough a run for his money with your wildlife photography, dear. Good for you!
Cheers.
Your garden is a true delight...
How do you manage to get such great shots of such little vibrating creatures?!
I always love coming here to see what birds and flowers you have captured.
Hummingbirds are my favorite bird. When we lived in Maryland I put out the feeders for them. I loved to watch them. Yes, they are very cute birds. What a delight, thanks for sharing your photos with us.
Oh yes Naomi, the hummers are so special and dear! All birds are special but the tiny hummers are very special, as you said! We usually only have 2-3 here but I love to watch them!
I always love your pictures and I'm so glad you have that wonderful habitat for the birds!
Good Sunday afternoon to you, Naomi. How are you today ?
Wonderful shots of the hummingbirds ! They are so much fun to watch, and just seem like magical little creatures - I always feel like a garden is blessed when they are there :)
There is much sustenance in your garden for nature's creatures. You have made it bountiful.
It's getting warmer but still too cold for hummingbirds and flowers. Ha!
I'm moving in with you for a while, okay? :)
Snowing AGAIN in Seattle, there go my birds. Grrr
I was just out cleaning my flower beds today and thinking how nice it will be to greet my hummingbirds soon! You are so lucky to have them there with you all year.
We get ruby throated hummers her in NE Ohio---but not for quite a while. Right now we have rain---lots of it---and mud.
I love hummingbirds, they are rare but we do see one occasionally. Madison thought it was a big bug when she first saw one!
These are lovely shots. I haven't seen a hummingbird in years!!
I love the photos of their wings in motion!! they're like little helicopters
and the colors!! your photos always have the most wonderful colors
Fantastic photos Naomi!
These shots are amazing! How did you ever manage to capture their wings without the photo being a big blur? You must have a fabulous camera and we already know what a fantastic photographer you are.
I love hummingbirds and one of my favorite possessions is a teeny hummingbird nest that is lined with my dogs' hair and some fuzzy scraps from on of their tennis balls!
We have such sweet singing at present - can you hear them? But no hummning birds alas.
Wow - Some amazing photographs.
I've tried to take pictures of hummingbirds (not in the UK!) but they flit about so quickly and change direction suddenly so it is very difficult; you obviously have good patience and an eye for it too.
Came by to say hello to you.
Love,
Herrad

Hummingbird Pauses at the Trumpet Vine by Mary Oliver
Who doesn’t love
roses, and who
doesn’t love the lilies
of the black ponds
floating like flocks
of tiny swans,
and of course, the flaming
trumpet vine
where the hummingbird comes
like a small green angel, to soak
his dark tongue
in happiness -
and who doesn’t want
to live with the brisk
motor of his heart
singing
like a Schubert
and his eyes
working and working like those days of rapture,
by Van Gogh in Arles?
Look! for most of the world
is waiting
or remembering -
most of the world is time
when we’re not here,
not born yet, or died -
a slow fire
under the earth with all
our dumb wild blind cousins
who also
can’t even remember anymore
their own happiness -
Look! and then we will be
like the pale cool
stones, that last almost
forever.
Hummingbirds truly are special little birds. I love how they change color depending on what angle you seem to be looking at them from. I wonder if they know how many human admirers they have? :)
Hey Naomi you are so lucky to capture it beautifully :)
By the way, Seemah emailed me and I will definitely meet up with her in April :D
so little yet so beautiful... hard to imagine someone never having seen a hummingbird...
It's just amazing the pictures you're able to catch, and hummingbirds in motion at that!
You have really caught the essence of these tiny birds visiting your flowers. Beautiful! The first time I saw a hummingbird, I was amazed at it's minute size. I thought it was an extra large bumble bee! I see them from time to time at my hummingbird feeder in my garden in the summer, but I really have to look for them as they are very sneaky and fast!
You should get your photos of your garden (birds, plants, wildlife) all printed and bound into a book - I guess you have so many photos it would be hard to choose, right? You are lucky to be able to photograph the hummingbirds like you do. You must sit patiently on your patio and wait with camera in hand do you??
:-)
This weekend we had a beige dove sitting in our tree and I was so happy as my mom always said they are good luck..and I need it..
I adore humming birds we have them here in Western New York as well..

Very nice photos, Naomi!
Your garden is always an amazing surprise!
You captured some masterful shots.
I like the ones that show the beauty of the colors of the Hummers. So pretty!
The hummingbirds are due to arrive here in a few weeks. I'm going to have to start bringing my camera outside in the early evening, with the hope of catching a photo or two of them. You've done a great job capturing photos of your hummingbirds.
