Here are some sweet little hummingbirds who have visited my garden over the last few years....I was lucky enough to capture them with my camera. This one above was just sitting there on one of my plants. I was fairly close by and could therefor get some dear pictures of this little guy, at rest.....
This was a little wee one. Again, sitting on the tip of a plant....This was during the time that those Agave's I have mentioned were Flowering.....He looks so cute, doesn't he?
This one above is "in flight", going for those delicious flowers on one of the two Agave's that were blooming....Hummingbirds are so very special, aren't they?
Above, there are two sweet little Hummers.....again, going for 'the gold' so to speak....I still cannot get over the numbers of Hummingbirds I saw every day all day while these Agave's were blooming. Sometimes there were six and seen, all at the same time....these flowers stalks were enormous---maybe 50 feet high....And each of them had about 20 or more flower pods blooming.....What a feast for all the birds....!
I truly never tire of seeing Hummingbirds and especially when they are visiting plants that live in my garden. It lifts my heart that they chose my garden for some of their sustenance.....It fills me with such a warm lovely satisfying feeling.....Nature. It feeds the soul and the spirit.
This one above had made a little bit of a stop on a tree in my garden. He was on his way to one of those two beautiful Agave Flower stalks, but was just taking a little respite.....a few minutes later, he took off for the top of those gorgeous yellow nectar filled blooms.....
This dear Hummer above, I caught with my camera, looking down from my deck, as he was just about to suckle at one of those sweet sweet flowers. So very beautiful....The color of his body, and those wings moving so very very quickly that they almost look transparent.....-LC-A+08-07-07+003.jpg)
Look at these two above.....These flowers were like the best restaurant in town.....I never tired of watching them and photographing them---I bet I have two thousand pictures of Hummingbirds while these flowers were blooming.....!
These flowers were just dripping nectar....and I loved seeing all the Hummingbirds going after everything these blooms had to offer, and more.....And here below, one of the prettiest........
I love the iridescent colorfulness of this sweetheart.....And in the background is one of my Red Trees, which sets off the colors of the Hummingbird so very very beautifully.....There are more, as I said.....but that will be for another post or ten.....lol!More To Come........

Hummingbirds are so much fun to watch, but we don't get them down here in Texas very often...I've seen them in Colorado when we would go camping. You have lots of wild life in your area... I wonder if you will get any baby hawks this year?

Beautiful hummingbird pictures thanks so very much.
They remind me of the hummingbirds that visited our garden in Trinidad.
Used to love watching them as a child.
Remember that I could happily sit very still and watch them for hours.

Hummingbirds are my favorite bird. When we lived in Maryland I put out the feeders for them. I loved to watch them. Yes, they are very cute birds. What a delight, thanks for sharing your photos with us.

You have really caught the essence of these tiny birds visiting your flowers. Beautiful! The first time I saw a hummingbird, I was amazed at it's minute size. I thought it was an extra large bumble bee! I see them from time to time at my hummingbird feeder in my garden in the summer, but I really have to look for them as they are very sneaky and fast!

You should get your photos of your garden (birds, plants, wildlife) all printed and bound into a book - I guess you have so many photos it would be hard to choose, right? You are lucky to be able to photograph the hummingbirds like you do. You must sit patiently on your patio and wait with camera in hand do you??
