NOTE: Sorry I have not been visiting you all as much as usual....Much "goings-on"-going on here.....been quite busy with 'life' things.....And will be busy like that the rest of this week, but I will try to get around to say "HI" to everyone, as soon as I can....Thanks for understanding.....
Happy St Patrick's Day to you too Naomi.
It is always a wonder to me how the wind and birds etc. scatter seeds and they just take root and grow .. God is the greatest artist!
Wow, very exotic looking flowers. The first one is my favorite. I wouldn't know what any of these flowers were if I saw them while walking around.
I hope you will be in the pink again soon, Naomi. I am sorry to say that I don't know what those flowers are - except for the birds of paradise. I will try to see if I can find them in my flower encyclopedia.
Happy St. Patrick's Day Naomi and also thank you for sharing all the flowers, very very nice.
Hope the gathering with your friends turned out well :D

I send to you this little Irish Belssing ...
May the sun shine, all day long,
everything go right, and nothing wrong.
May those you love bring love back to you,
and may all the wishes you wish come true!

Breathtaking, as always, and so refresing for an East Coaster! My one visit to CA left me jealous of your beautiful landscapes. I love it when you share these.
Hope everything is okay, and I look forward to "seeing" you soon.
Don't worry about not visiting - as long as you are well - no problem.
That is a glorious yellow and has a lily like look.
Thank goodness for Judy - the blue looks a bit like a lupin crossed with a thistle and the pink grows wild here - near the sea but of course I can't remember the name.
Happy St. Patrick's Day to you too! I love how exotic and unusual your flowers are. I imagine you must have loads of butterflies!
What beautiful flowers...and growing on the hill like that; I'm amazed!
I love the bright and beautiful things that grow in your neighborhood!
Don't worry about not visiting. When you're too busy to pop into my blog, I'll just pop into yours. ;)
Happy St. Patty's Day, Naomi!! I hope you didn't forget to wear your green undies today!! :)~
Gorgeously exotic/erotic. They do DO something to me!
The ferry from Hull to Logan airport was decorated for St. Patrick's Day. I only felt a little silly taking pictures. Blogger on board!
Such gorgeous flowers! It's still waaaaaaaaay too cold for them here yet.
Those flowers cost an arm and a leg in Seattle. Yes, a miracle. (Hey, we can't visit all the time---how would be able to stop and smell the flowers!?)
Naomi, if I ever come to California, I would love to see you garden in person....It is just beautiful.
Hope you are feeling better soon...Come by when you get a chance.
It's been far too long since I've stopped by. Apologies. I've started a job. So much to learn, and I feel life is struggling to find its new balance.
Loved the photos of your neighborhood, and of the plants. This Teddy Bear is cute too!
Lovely flowers, they brought a smile to my face Naomi. Hope all is well.

That last flower was like what we saw at the Bio Dome in Milwaukee Wi when we went.. They look like little birds in the tree's and so bightly colored. Amazing and so beautiful.. Thanks for sharing these and get around to us when you have the time. Life is always busy here to so i visit when I can.
The blue flowers look like borage and the pink ones look like valerian.... but that doesn't mean that they ARE borage and valerian! And those are English names, they are probably called something quite different in USA anyway.
Lovely pictures as usual. So nice to see flowers.... we have melting snow but no flowers yet.
What a beautiful neighbourhood you live in! These flowers are all lovely but I like the shape of that second plant best and the colour of it's leaves even without it's pretty blue flowers :)
I hope the 'life' things get sorted out soon for you. I know how trying some of these things can be. Know thta we will all be here when you return to blogging. meanwhile I send you big hugs, even if they are not needed.
What gorgeous flowers. I am hoping to get to Tucson soon (something keeps getting in the way) and one of the reasons is flowers which we have not yet had much of up here-- although our season is coming. Just the hills get them last
Lovely photos and a belated "Happy St. Patrick's Day" to you, dear. I trust you're well and look forward to your visits.
Cheers.
Hi Naomi, Happy St Patrick's Day to you too!
I loved the photos of your neighborhood and those plants are gorgeous. I guess that the yellow flower is Allamanda, so beautiful but also so toxic. In this site you can see it. Allamanda.
I don't have this flower in my garden because it is toxic to kids and dogs.
Have a nice week!
Those little purple flowers are amazing! Very cool.
Those flowers are so pretty. They look like Lupine maybe, but I'm not sure. Sure have beautiful flowers and leaves too. That would be a pretty picture to paint!
Always love your flower pictures!!
Hope that you are okay, Naomi. I wondered... Healing thoughts and prayers sent your way :)
((HUGS))
The top flower is so beautiful, extraordinary! It kind of gets lost amongst the other plants, but I love that about you. You zoom into every single creation in your garden & bring it to life for us.
I hope your doing well, Naomi. Take it easy & hug Sweetie for me.
:)
it's so nice to see color! Things are beginning to green up here in NE Ohio and some Spring flowers are up.
Thanks for another warming post .

i have 3 of them birds of paradise in my front yard here in florida they get so big. we have cut them all the way down but they keep coming back. when we bought this house they were hugh. i love this time of year spring all the flowers coming to life so cool.
Oh gorgeous - that first photo knocks my eyes out and fills my spirit. Hugs
The purpley blue spikey plant is a bush lupine. They are wonderful if you have the space. The pink stalk- that is red valerian. Some of the birds have spread it through the neighborhood- and no one seems to mind one bit. NoSunny So Cal hillside should be without it!
I forwarded a copy of one photo to Nan Sterman- She wrote the California Garden Guide: Vol II and frequently contributes to the LA Times. She believes the big yellow flower is one of her favorites, Solandra maxima, aka the cup of gold vine. It is a woody vine like plant found growing in old neighborhoods. It isn't very cold cold hardy but when it is happy it is absolutely fabulous- with time, this slower can grow to 20 feet long or more.
She also reminded be what I called "bush lupine" is going to be more readily identified as "Pride of Madeira".
