power out!

We had another bloody power outage today.....This is ridiculous! Out if nowhere, the lights flickered and off went everything. Then it came back----maybe, two minutes later....Then the lights kept flickering and threatening...two more times EVERYTHING almost went out....then, finally, it all went out and this time for a nice l-o-n-g extended 5 hours, plus!

I just leave candles out in every room now, and have been doing that for two years....Today, for the first time the DWP said, 'We are having problems with ther infrastructure'....Hmmmm. No kidding!

These are hard days for me right now, and this power crap did not help, at all.....!

So, this is a boring post and I apologize.....I have been working on a rather long some-thing-or-other, but....well, it is not ready, I'm sorry to say. I hope it will be ready by Monday.....

I'm too old for this stress.

More To Come........

Geez. Naomi. That is not good!! Five HOURS is a long time without power, do they not have a way of permanently dealing with this problem?? What 'infrastructure' are they talking about?

Can totally understand your frustration!

Hang in there, Naomi. It's not that bad -- I spent two hours Friday afternoon stuck in the middle of a WalMart with a thousand sweaty people during a tornado warning. Just crack open a bottle of wine and enjoy the silence.

:)

Cheers.

Oh Naomi, I'm so sorry to hear about your power outage. As you know, we are no stranger to those here in PA.

Please take care of yourself so you don't get overheated. I wrote you a nice long email early this morning about heat stroke.

I hope you get your power back on and STAYS on real soon.

I suffer greatly when our power goes out - or when we have a storm and I have to turn off the computer. Too bad we're so addicted, right? LOL

Naomi, did you ever look into getting a generator? Check out Home Depot, they have generators that will power the entire house when the power goes out. It might be a worth while investment. A generator is a lot cheaper than going solar.....

Real annoying when that happens. As hot as it is here, if ours went off like that....well...I don't know what I'd do! Forget the candle. I wouldn't want to add to the heat! I hope that this is something that doesn't happen often and if it does happen that it's for only very short periods of time.

That would tend to really tick me off...I love candles - but, I prefer to use them for atmosphere - not need! :)

Hugs to you...I hope you get to relax a little...

When you're dealing with other things that aren't going so well, having the simple things in life that we expect to have operational go wonky on us instead just adds to the pile of crap. Ugh!

I'm sorry to hear about your power outage...of five hours, no less! Wow! I hope they get it together soon, so you don't have to be concerned about something you pay for and count on to work.

You remind me, hurricane season is right around the corner for us here in South Florida. Once we lost power for 6 weeks. We have a generator, but the gas lines to fill it up can be exhausting.

Good luck to you w/ your candles and Sweetie!

Hi Naomi.......I'm sitting in my living room waiting for a big thunderstorm to hit, and should be powering off soon because they are calling for a DOOZEY! Yup, the skies are darkening.

We only lose power during storms.....once when max was a baby, there was a huge snow and ice storm (January 1998) that hit the Montreal area badly.....it hit Maine too. Anyways, they were without power in sub zero temps for over 3 weeks! We were VERY lucky here and weren't impacted, but it was the worst mess.....power lines crumpled under the weight of the ice etc. Their infrastructure was old and obviously not reliable. They have since upgraded and put in back up plans etc.

I will send you an inspirational email.........I just watched a video on Youtube that completely touched my heart.

Hope that they get it fixed soon, Naomi.

Why are you having power blackouts? We've been having hot and humid weather here lately along with thunderstorms. But no power outages.

We are having severe thunder storms this afternoon and this evening, but so far the electric is alright. But, some in a 20 & 30 miles radius have lost power. We are having some high straight line winds with the storms. All in all, it will be over in an hour or two.

Have a pleasant Sunday evening.

Candles are great for atmosphere, especially on a cold winters night. Not in summer heat. Our power just went off for a mere 25 minutes, and I started to wilt. Thunderstorm was great though!

Hoping your days get easier for you.

I also don't like when the power is out here in my house! It's very frustrating! I hope all went OK now!

Naomi! Girls with naked lungs should avoid candles!!! Get a nice green led lamp or 2, powered off a rechargable battery. Check your land line phone--it may need AC-- you don't want to be off-line with your computr unnecessairly in an emergency. And you DO have an uninterruptable power supply for the computerd-dd-don't you?

Eesh, that sucks! I dread hurricane season. Nothing worse than being cooped up in a hot house with sweaty dogs!

Glad you're back on!
