There is much to think about in these days of grief and contemplation....I miss those daily phone calls right now, more than I can say. Everyone who knew Hanna---especially those of us so very close to her---are still in a kind of shock about her death.
I will write more as time passes.....
More To Come.......
Hmmm the first picture, it looks like copper...
So sorry to hear about your friend Hanna.
And thanks for your encouraging words!
All the interesting textures in the world which we can't see because we're not close enough --
I'm horrible at this, but I'll say chocolate cake.
As for Rosemary's Baby, I stayed up late when I was a kid an sneaked into the basement to watch it. It scared me for a month after.
I'm sure your friend would want you to enjoy the memories of her. It doesn't mean there can't be sadness, just that we shouldn't forget the happiness, too.
I am going to guess it is the back side of a mold (those coppery molds that one can make jello salads in) but they can be used as decoration in kitchens (Damn you gotta be from the South to that gene, though!)
I remember that scene in Rosemary's Baby!
Your mystery photo looks like something in hammered brass - maybe a cachepot?
I'm anxious to post this comment then scroll down and read about Betty's b-day lunch party.
My guess for guess what?? is that it is a part of a silver platter.
Thanks for giving us more insight into Hanna and her career. I know you will write more about her as time passes.
Those are such great shots to remember your friend, I am so sorry about your loss...
I have no idea about your guess what?, a metal thing of some kind...I would say it is a tire but no, it is most certainly something else because it looks like made out of metal...I will keep thinking, though!!
I think it is a pot for a plant. (gosh, I can't think of the word right now... you know, the things you put a plant in. is that a pot? LOL)
Thank you for sharing pictures of Hanna.
When I enlarged the image, it looked to be the side of a cactus/succulent plant without the "quills".
I never watched Rosemary's Baby right through; it disturbed me too much.
I love that movie, so scary! I watch it every now and then when it's on cable. Now, I will think of your friend every time I see it from now on.
Guess what - some type of knob? Like a doorknob or drawer pull.
My thoughts have been with you about losing your friend. I can't imagine what it would be like to know someone for so long and then they aren't around. I wish I could give you a big hug!
About the picture, looks like some kitchen utensils or....?? hehheh...
I am so glad you told Betty about us ;) Glad that she had a good time.
My first thought was some sort of jewelry, but then I though "picture frame."
I love those pics from Rosemary's Baby but am so sorry you lost a friend.
Could it be shagreen(sharkskin), or snakeskin?
Hi Naomi. Trust you're better these days.
Mystery picture: cannot figure out -- looks like chocolate yet not though.
Mia Farrow looks so very young then.
Must be jewellery of some kind.
But it's beautufully mahe anyhow.
Mia and Roman - well - I say no more
btw. I've posted flowers for all my blogger friends that so well blessed us after our Son's sudden death
Is it the base of a candle stick?
I didn't see 'Rosemary's Baby' It was probably when the children were little and I would avoid such films. Hanna has a lovely face. Such a loss.
I don't understand how a person and their presence just stops. It always seems so abrupt, mysterious, and abnormal to me.
Rosemary's baby was such a classic.
I'm so sorry you're going through this difficult time on the loss of your friend.
The photos are lovely and I remember her very well from Rosemary's Baby.
I hope in time your grief will ease and you'll be left with the warm feeling of wonderful memories. Hugs to you, Naomi.
you hit the nail on the head Naomi. Since the Kelley's have passed, I miss the calls and notes as much as anything else.. it's always the little things that are the hardest to give up.
