More To Come.......
Hi,
that sounds like a really fun meme. I should go 'sign' hunting too around here :)
Hope you'll have a great day!

I remember those posts Naomi because I remember those signs!! *heehee*
Naomi, thank you for being so supportive on my series on booze. It was important for me to do this with the hope that it will reach a suffering alcoholic out there. I don't always comment on your site , but I am one of your regular readers and love your blog. Hugs, Bud
I don't think I have taken many pictures of signs. I will have to look thru my collection of pictures and see if I can find any. I am more like Rachel and enjoy the church signs.
Great signs, Naomi! I remember well the sign on the garden of your neighbor when you walking around and post it! LOL! Really it's a fun idea of Laura!
PS: I added a legend on my last photo. "No smoking" on the bus! LOL!
i'm loving those signs ! the last one especially!
i just caught the tail end of the sign up for the meme and i'm off to find the pictures to post! i hope you'll visit my blog later.
Hi Naomi! I just updated my post about sign. I bet you will like it! LOL!
Love the signs, Naomi. I thought I didn't have anything to post about it - but I've just remembered a sign we photographed in Switzerland that would be perfect for next time!
That first one is so proper it could only be the English but the other one...oh no can we be that blunt? I had to laugh. I guess someone had pushed them too far with their dog poop!
I cannot believe of all days Typepad picked today to not let me post to the main page. I can't get it to work!
I love your signs!!
Did not play as my pc is not being cooperative, but I am enjoying all the signs!
Thanks for another comment my dear!
Flora is SOOO dear sweet with her family... but with unfamiliar people and outside dogs... Oh My... she is really anti-social! LOL!
The Brits are eloquent but we Americans are much more concise! Lol.
Enjoyed 'em, thanks and thanks for stopping by RV Vagabonds.
I think I vastly prefer the more polite sign ;) The second one is just too angry!
Thanks for visiting.
Lol... I didn't play, but had to comment... that second one is so American, eh...
I love that second one, stole it and saved it to my file of photos to use later. Thanks
great signs Naomi. btw- I love the cotswolds area of the UK, so beautiful. I miss it there.
Well... none to share about sh***ing dogs- albeit my thought to Janet that polite or none.. the "substance" that must be collected is, alas sh*t!
On a more promising subject ( and from the "recording years" posts ) NAOMI! Your many friends want to "hear" you sing!... I want your many friends to hear you sing!! I figured out how to embed your songs into your blog- by first installing them into my own... and where your friends are most welcome to come by for a listen to your BEAUTIFUL voice!! I touched base with your friend and blog-designer "girliebits" who said she will be most delighted to install your audio into your blog for you. I gave her the html code to do so. Do NOT be spooked by the mere mention of 'myspace'! This has nothing to do with myspace and is called "Hypster". They only mention 'myspace' as one of many sites this audio can be installed to. Hypster is free... has nada to do with myspace and awaits your nod to be installed by "girliebits" or yourself! ( it turned out to be simple actually! Even for a trousered-ape like me!! )
I am betting everyone here is champing-at-the-bits to hear you!!!

I love your neighbor's sign! It certainly gets to the point.
re: Butchie's comment - I hope you do this! It would be cool to hear you sing!
LOL love the sign, pretty much to the point !
I don't think all your cat friends should see my latest post, I might be in trouble, although technically it was my TEENS fault lol.
Hey very cute indeed :D
Just a comment: people let their dogs poo-poo ON MY WHEELCHAIR RAMP!
No way to go around it, racing to work...how cn people BE so thoughtless?
Yes as I'm from England, I can tell the style, the sign is very English. The other is more to the point.
Michele sent me.
LOL! That about sums up the cultural differences doesn't it! :)
Great signs, though if you were to visit now many of those old signs are gone and are replaced with pictures of a a man picking up after a dog and the words 'Bag it and bin it'. Not quite the same is it?
Thanks for dropping by to see how I am doing. It means a lot as I am going through hell with this project.
It's funny I was photographing billboards yesterday. Some of them are quite controversial.
LOL - I loved your two signs! I never heard the second one worded so bluntly before. Reminds me of the "If you sprinkle when you tinkle" signs you find in some bathrooms. :)
So veddy British. It reminds me of a sign I saw on the first tee of a golf course just outside Nottingham. Where in North America you'd see a sign that says "Slow play will not be tolerated!", this sign said "It is the duty of every golfer to keep up with the game ahead and not merely to stay ahead of the group behind."
And the one sign I will always regret not stopping to take a picture of is one just outside Stoke on Trent, which said (the a helpful directional arrow) "Secret Bunker".
LOL.... that is great! I have a good one too... may have to post it later today!
In 1980, I was backpacking around the middle east and happen to spend some time in Israel. In Nazereth, I was walking through some back alley and saw a sign in Hebrew, Arabic and German. I could only read the German and it said, "Schweinfleisch zu verkaufen."
Pork For Sale.
I was stunned, as I'd been craving a BLT for about three weeks, during which time, I'd seen neither hide nor hair of anything approximating a hog. Somewhere, in pre-digital state is a photo.
Cheers.
Would you believe I finally have time to go see the signs from this meme?!!
I had to leave at 9 am and didn't get home until after midight. We are exhausted from chaperoning!!
I definitely prefer the english version of the signs! The second one... the garden owners must really be fed up.. but I would say a little courtesy would go a long way, instead.
Naomi, I'm really glad you played along, it was a great way to meet you, too. I enjoyed our emails, however brief! LOL
ha-ha. Michele sent me to be amused at your signs. When I think of unusual signs I remember one that used to be on short street in Cambridge, Massachusetts that said "One Way Except for Taxis." It never seemed like a good idea to me...
DIANE! THATS THE VERY "INCIDENT" THAT GOT ME WEARING GLOVES... HAVING ENCOUNTERED SAID DOGSH*T ON A SIDEWALK AT NIGHT! HAVING ROLLED OVER IT I COULD ONLY TURN BACK HOME, WITH THE "MESS" STILL ON ONE WHEEL FOR 7 BLOCKS. KINDA LIKE ROLLING OVER IT AGAIN.. AND AGAIN.

The English sign is so very polite, and the other one is.... so very NOT!
Ha, ha.
most people try the polite sign first... then give up and tell it as it is! lol.. can't blame them one bit!!!!!
Ha! That second sign is hilarious!
Well, Diana's retelling of K9 piles on her wheelchair ramp cause me to feel the "American" version was understated! I shared her revulsion when one evening
( on my way to a friends about 8 blocks away to conduct a bible-study ) I rolled [ also via wheelchair ] over what can only be described as a freshly-lain pile of... of... well!... DOGSH*T excreted right smack-dab in the midst of a public sidewalk. I regretably rolled right thru it... gathering it onto my left wheelchair tire- and without an extraction helicopter to lift me out to a haz-mat unit I had no alternative but to turn-about and return some 6-7 blocks homeward... with the said excretion unavoidably revisiting my left hand at varied points along my way home! How I kept my cookies I will never know... but have worn gloves EVERYwhere since that ghastly incident!! The signs are both great... but things can get ugly as this'YouTube' excerpt demonstrates!

We seem to get away with signs like that over here ... I don't know how. Recently a local primary school headteacher caused a storm when, after politely asking the parents more than once, he put up a banner outside his school entrance that said "What part of NO PARKING HERE don't you understand?" ... It was all over the papers and evetually the Education Authority had him remove it.
