I am so happy your power returned. I was thinking of you as I watched the ceremony. You make me feel like I "know somebody!"
I can't wait to read your review.
Shame on DWP for spoiling your Oscar Nite!
You might consider acquiring a small emergency generator. They are fairly reasonable. Your tv, computer and lcd bulbs do not take much power. It could be very important for your comfort and survival in all sorts of emergencies.
I look forward to that. I'm feeling Oscar deprived:)
Yeah! I love your Oscar posts!
What?? You don't have a generator??
Hehe, it's okay, neither do I.
I'm glad you got your power back, candlelight is nice and all, but we've got priorities... :)
I am so glad that the power returned and you can see the Oscar! Yesterday night I saw the Award and I thought on you all the time! I am looking forward to the Oscar's post. Many hugs!
I am so glad that you got to watch the awards, I know how you enjoy them so. Those power outages sound awful, I do hope they sort them out soon.
Looking forward to hearing your view of the Oscars :)
Naomi, what is causing all the power outages? Are you on the grid? I was almost certain that you would be one of the people in California that had solar panels on your roof.
I rushed right over here! Thank GOODNESS the power God rewarded your many good deeds. :-)
I'm glad the power came back on in time!
How come you keep having power cuts? I did hear that California had some power generation problems though. I wasn't sure if it had been sorted or not.... Apparently not.
Hope you have lots of candles & torches handy!
I watch the Oscars for the fashion show - they are all so beautiful - but so much the same. I think they're all afraid to be daring because of all the "fashion expert" shows afterward. A shame, really. Can't wait to read your thoughts. Diane
I'm so glad your power came back on in time. I thought about you last night while I was watching and am looking forward to your review.
ack! I can't even imagine you not being able to see the Oscars!!!! (unless the strike was still on) lol.. sure glad power returned in time for you!!
I loved that they named all 79 best pictures since it began... I always have a bit of trouble getting through those we lost.. there's always at least one that I didn't hear about and that just bums me out .. :o(
I look forward to reading your comments on the show.
Oops! Sorry about this hiccups at the wrong time ya....hope you did manage to catch them Noami!
Naomi, A gas powered generator would be a good idea if you continute to have power outages. For about $ 5,000. you can get a generator that would power your whole house. It ties into the gas line and all you have to do is turn it on when the power is out. We had a few neighbors that decided to get generators after Hurricane Katrina and Rita sideswiped Houston. I hope they figure out the problem and get it fixed.
Oh my goodness, that was a close one for you Naomi!! So glad you were able to watch the Oscars!! I read a little about them in the paper but I haven't watched any of the movies and don't know hardly any of the people (never heard of them I mean!)....so.....I'm really in the dark about all that stuff. I'll be interested in reading your thoughts on how it went though!!
The powers that be hey? *phew*
Are you sure it wasnt a power failure BECAUSE of the oscars? I'm sure with all those extra trucks and satellite dishes and wires, there must be some scope to accidentally take out part of the neighbourhood?
I'm glad your power returned just in the nick of time!
