More To Come.........
the sky line is heaven
awww he is so cute
I get my little puppy tommorrow
michelle sent me btw
And thank you for sharing that lovely rain with us! We need it too :)
Love the sky views...hey, at least you know how to get a video...you are way more technical than I am...
I have no idea how to do that.
The puppy is cute!!!
I saw on the Weather Channel LA was getting rain and I immediately thought of you! I know you all need it.
Chickens!! Woo-hoo!! What? You don't want a rooster crowing?? There is one up the road from us, about 1/4 of a mile I guess, and if I'm outside I hear him crowing at all hours!! I go out on the porch at night and he's crowing! I think he is a confused rooster!! I don't mind it, as I can't hear him when I'm inside, and it brings back memories from being on the farm.
I don't have a clue as to what else your neighbors intend to get with that sliding door thing. Maybe they'll get rabbits next!!
I'm so glad you posted, Naomi. I'd been reading about the mudslides and avalanches, and I worried about you. The news says the hills outside LA are supposed to get three inches of rain today!
Your photos, as usual, are stunning. You take such joy in the world around you -- thanks for sharing it with us!
I absolutely love the view from your home. The sky is wonderful. My nephew tells me there will be a full bloom in the dessert this spring due to the rainfall. He lives is Vista (north of San Diego). We have never seen a full bloom and plan to visit him during that time. He's a wonderful tour guide.
Naomi, In response to 'why those people were in my home.' We have very large live coral reef tanks in our home. As the coral grows it needs to be pruned (much as your shrubs do) in order to keep the reef right-sized and healthy. The pruned pieces are called "frags." Other hobbiest buy the frags to grow in their own tanks. The husband called and asked to see our tanks and to buy a few frags. When he came he brought the whole fam-damily! That wasn't expected but we tried to welcome them with true southern hospitality. NEVER again!
I LOVE the view from your home, Naomi! The scenery is wonderful all around! The skyline is stunning too!
Have a nice weekend!
the rain kachina has come to bless the day! and brought the puppy along!!
wonderful photos! what a view you have!!
We've had rain for weeks (certainly since Christmas), but it's finally stopped for a few days so I managed to get out to take some photos.
Thanks for sharing your photos :)
You have an award waiting for you at my blog...
It is such a panoramic view. Are you ever tempted to take a deep breath and say 'Friends, Californians and citizen;s - lend me your ear...'from your balcony? That would make the lady with the chickens stop and stare:)
Michele sent me - always a pleasure.
Nice to hear your voice, Naomi!
You know you're blessed, don't you?? :) That view is divine. I, too, love the pic of the half rain/half clear sky. I love it when it does that!!!
Beautiful sky pics Naomi. Stay dry!
Thanks dear Naomi for your nice comment about my flourish tree!
Have a good Sunday!
Awwww, he's a cute, white little doggie to go with your white, fluffy Sweetie. He'd probably chase Sweetie though, and Sweetie would most likely give him a good face clawing.
You've needed the rain there, and boy oh boy! you're getting it!!
The sky photos are wonderful.
Those clouds make me want to reach out and touch the sky. I have visions of you sitting with your camera in hand, waiting for THE perfect moment when the clouds are lined up Just So in the sky and the light is pitch perfect.
Michele sent me to take in the awe inspiring beauty that you manage to capture both in and from your home, again and again.
I've been quiet this last little bit. Workload (extreme) and sickness (running rampant through my immediate and extended family) have kept me away from blogland for a bit. I'm trying to keep my fingers in the pie, so to speak. Not succeeding. Thanks for not giving up on me. Out of sight is definitely not out of mind.
naomi- I like those photos, I always find clouds fascinating anyway. They can convey feeling and emotion depending on their color, shape, intensity, height, etc. And yes, we DO need the rain!
Hi Naomi! Thank you for the good post and pictures. Love them all. Hope for more rain though.
I'll bet the puppy is being trained to keep the farm animals in line!
Is there a rooster with those chicks? And does it wake you up with it's cock-a-doodle-dooing in the morning?
I am jealous of the view from your place.
Oh, I'll be visiting LA and northern Cali in a few months time. I'll keep you posted.
You're having a great time videoing aren't you? *heehee* You so make me smile. Seriously.
I would love to visit you in the hills sometime and see those cloud formations over the Pacific and Downtown LA. How fabulous!!
Great set of pictures, Naomi.
Michele sent me here.
Ah yes, Naomi. I do remember that song. I didnt really get interested in music until the Beatles came along, but I do recall hearing many songs my family played on the radio. I was thinking that was Peggy Lee??? Dinah Shore??? I think even Olivia Newton John sang it. One singer I do recall and was very impressed by was a lady who sang a French song and oh darn...now my memory is escaping me, tho I can hear the tune in my head. Well, I loved it then LOL! Take care. xoxoxo
Wonderful sky pictures! I love the heavy clouds in the second one - they look so moody! Rain is something we are very familiar with in the UK at the moment! It is necessary but I think we are having too much of a good thing!
Thanks for your visit. I haven't been in blog land much as I have been very busy and things are quite stressful at the moment, so your visit was very much appreciated. Thank you :)
I have a small confession to make. I have given you a blog award in my new post. I know your views on this so I don't expect you to pass it on but I wanted to pay you this compliment. Please do me the homour of accepting it?
Nope, it wasn't Edith P. But I just remembered the title. It was Se Sebone...Say Seebone..la la la la la la.. and I KNOW that is not spelled correctly but that's how it's pronounced. The lady had a very husky voice. I can just picture her in a smoky bar, dressed all in black, lots of eye makeup, maybe even a hat, blond, singing......
Hi Naomi! Just dropping by to say that I updated the post Pets III. I hope you enjoy it!
Have a wonderful Sunday!
Man, you are GOOD Naomi! But I dunno. I looked it up (now that you spelled it for me) and seems everyone sang it from Sachmo to Eartha Kitt to Lena Horne to Dionne Warwick and even a country singer in between. Sigh....Guess I'll never know who my memory is calling up. It prolly WAS Eartha Kitt and the blond in black in the smoky bar was no doubt Marlene Deitrich, who I can't find ever sang that song. Oh well. :)
I am glad you are happy to accept the award. Don't worry about passing it on. As I said, I know very well your views on this and I gave it to you knowing your views and of course I respect them. I just couldn't not mention you in conjunction with the Excellent Blog award. It just wasn't right as your blog is excellent in every way.
The photo of rain falling brought back a fond memory.
When I was a child of 4, my family lived on the 3rd floor of a tenement house and when the rain fell on hot summer days, we went outside in our bathing suits to cool off. This day, the rain was falling on our side of the hill while the other side remained sunny, and afterwards there was a beautiful rainbow.
I'm glad you are enjoying the blessed rain and all it's accompanying pleasures.
We just can't make it without the rain so I am happy to hear you're getting some much needed water. I love it when you can see rain off in a distance. It always amazes me to see it coming!
Your pictures are fantastic. I thought of you when the rooster woke me this morning. Thats what happens when I forget my ear plugs or they fall out during the night!
I'll trade ya some of your rain for some of our snow!
Beautiful sky photos. I think only people in desert areas can really appreciate rain like that. The puppy is cute
The sky towards the Pacific is my favorite photo. The best sky pictures I've taken face west (away from the Atlantic); that's where the sun sets so it gives us the prettiest view of the Florida skies.
I loved the white pup on his quest to find the chickens. He's adorable.
I saw a news report about all the rain in S California over the past few days, that's really quite unusual to have so much rain in your area. But I'm sure you need it. Your post about your neighbour's puppy remined me to post about my grandpuppy. I was puppysitting all weekend, and now I'm exhausted! That puppy has springs instead of feet, I am convinced!
Thanks Naomi for your nice words about my Pets'post. I am glad you like such cuteness! Flora says to you thanks and send also a big hug!
It was so crisp and clear this weekend, we could actually SEE snow on the San Gabriels. Actually, it was so clear, we could see the San Gabriels. lol
Lovely photos. I love clouds.

I love everything about the rain. The clouds, the smells, the water, the cold weather. We were in Santa Barbara that weekend & it really poured there.
I find it amazing that no matter how much rain we get they always say, "This isn't enough to help the drought."
