begin with bees - 2008

I'm posting some Bees because the Video I wanted to post is still "uploading"....it has been doing that for about 2 hours!! (Hello, Blogger???)

Anyway....enjoy these dear creatures while we wait for Blogger to do it's thing.....(if it is going to, that is....!) I love when I am able to 'capture' two bees at once....These are the Senecio Flowers from a few months ago and they really attracted the bees, Big-Time! Do click on these to make them bigger, because the detail is quite amazing...Doesn't this guy above seem to have more legs than one would think? (lol) Oh...I see, they must have six legs! And I love that you can see the outline of those wings over on the right there, in the picture above....I feel like I have been getting a real education just taking all these pictures of these amazing creatures..... Another sweet little guy, above....And that outline of his wing right there in the center...love it! Ahhhhh, there are some really beautiful wings.....Very very handsome fellow, this guy.....I love the way the light hits his back....very 'artful', I'd say......And another pretty guy, below..... And then, below....another pair of bees.... Love that guy over on the right....take a real good look at him, bigger.....!
Well, that's it for now....I am praying to the blogger God's that the Video will finally upload and I can get back to New Years.....(lol)

More To Come......

Good Wednesday morning to you, Naomi ! How are you doing ? Di Blogger finally complete uploading the video ?

You make bees interesting, and their tiny bounty in pollinating flowers a journey of discovery and grace !

Looking forward to all that you share this upcoming year 2008, and how interesting it is each time.

You are quite a woman and a person, Naomi. Even though it is just in cyber-space, I am pleased to know you. With this blog, your energy and range of interests has broadened my life, and your wise and kind comments have helped me in my own journey.

THANK YOU, and *blessings*...

Loving Annie

Ah, more of your lovely bee pictures :) These are gorgeous as ever and really capture the 'busy-ness' of the bees going about their chores, feeding and business! LOL! They really do seem quite intent on those flowers.

I am looking forward to the return of insect life to the UK with the warmer spring weather so I can capture some with my new macro lens.

Looking forward to seeing your video when blogger finally co-operates!

Are these the same bees that you had in 2007? You must have a family of them that have laid claim to your plants......

I like picture #6 the best. I wouldn't have even noticed his wings had you not written about it...absolutely amazing! I love the little curly ends of those flowers too. You magnify nature & help us appreciate the most simple things in life. :)

Wonderful pics, Naomi! Sooo good to see you're still sharing with everyone. I have been away from blogging for a looong time. I'm happy to see you're still at it and still have your loyal friends here! :) I liked the holiday photos you shared, too. My friend has some great pics of your friend Dom from some years ago (he's a photographer). HAPPY 2008!!

Okay you are making me miss going outside and taking pictures of nature. I am too cold to take much of anything right now. Actually this morning I tried a few and my batteries froze up!

Great pictures as always...
The bedding I found was by Eileen Fisher and it had some silk in the comforter but the blanket and pillow shams had cashmere! It was so pretty but way out of my league. Can you imagine the good times the cats would have on cashmere and silk? It wouldn't look too fresh for too long! lol.

Just looking at your bees and clicking on them I thought how - side ways - they have a look of a tasty, juicy prawn but I promise I won't attempt to eat them - crunchy though they may be. Don't mind me Naomi- January does something weird to my brain. Can you imagine day after day of dark gloomy murk? Can Spring be far away?

Hi,
Thanks for coming back by my site and leaving a comment.
I noticed the "tour of homes" button on your sidebar. Is it a tour of homes for chirstmas? I am only asking because I am from Los Angeles as well, but moved to Norway and used to go on a tour of beautiful homes at achirstmas time. Just wondering!
Hopefully will see you around my site again sometime :) Kristie

Whew! I've spent a bunch of time here catching up! I've been missing your posts (along with everyone else's).

Your pictures today make me feel so nice and warm.

I should get busy with getting rid of bunches of old files, as you've been doing in posts below. I SHOULD...but will I?

I love your bee pictures.

I looked up bees on wiki - all worker bees are female. Drones are male and stay in the hive.

Good luck with the video. I only tried blogger video once and it was rubbish, so I went back to embedding YouTube videos.

Your photos are beautiful, but more than beautiful, they are a lesson in how small things are where the pleasure is for us all and too often we miss all of that in our rush to the big things. Lovely

I see from craziequeen's comment that all bee workers are female. No wonder these bees are so busy and cute then!! If they were male bees they'd probably be sitting there doing nothing!! LOL

Wonderful pictures Naomi!! I just went back and saw the video of Sweetie again and hearing you sing Happy New Year!! I love that video!!

GREAT pics! Such detail.......I also love the warm feel to them given that it's bloody cold way up here.

I can't imagine there's a bee anywhere in the vicinity, unless they are captured frozen in a piece of ice.

I makes me feel warm seeing these pics.

It's -17C here ... way too cold for bees. Ha! But they were a nice reminder that summer is coming sometime.

Naomi, It will work with utube. And also with google video which is more private if you choose. All you need to do is to hit on the embed option. I tried it and it works.
