What a great post and I loved reading back over your the old one. The stories that were made up were so funny. Can you imagine if they were true! Ha.
I loved seeing your Sweetie again, 12 years is a long time to have a little four legged friend in your life, I bet you do still miss him.
Happy Christmas Naomi! I hope you get to do lots of wonderful things on Christmas day!
Merry Christmas Naomi!... I do love you put Sweetie's photo there at the end!
Those are the bluest eyes I've ever seen on a cat!
Please be well and have a wonderful Holiday.xoxoxo
What a great post in 2005, those comments were delightful. I read them all and marveled at the creativity. Or was is all creativity?? Maybe a glimmer of truth there??? Ha ha.
Loved the kitty cards but the picture of Sweetie is the best. Those eyes were just stunning. I too miss my furry friend.
Hope this Christmas is full of fun, friends, family and good health.
SO fun to read those made-up stories, most of which show you up as a wild and crazy lady!! Now, if you caught yourself at any time thinking "oh my gosh, I DO remember that", then you would need to 'fess up right now, in THIS year's post!!
The vintage kitty-cat cards are so very sweet, I would love to hug every one of those little furry elves. The one with Santa is an absolute delight...what a big cat that is, and how totally at home he is in the lap of the Big Guy!
While I was reading through I began to hope that Sweetie would show up as being one of the most wonderful kitties-in-white who took care of you for 12 delightful years...and there he was! I miss him, too.
Happy Holidays, dear Naomi, I'm so glad to be a blogging part of your holiday cheer :-)
Merry Christmas, Naomi. Best wishes for 2014. Thanks, very much, for stopping by my place and always leaving a treasured memory of your years in New York and theater. They are always appreciated.
Merry Christmas from me and my old Dad! xxx
Paul Newman eyes. Beautiful post.
I love these vintage cards. I have a nice little collection of them and even have one of these! (The second one.) But my favorite photo of all of them is dear Sweetie.
Sending you wonderful holiday wishes.
Such beautiful cards! I think I love the one with Santa holding a sleeping cat the most. There's nothing more peaceful that holding a purring kitty.
And Sweetie was indeed so beautiful.
Merry merry Christmas, my friend!
Sweetie's eyes are so gorgeous. I'm so glad you had twelve years together.
Merry Christmas my dear Naomi Naomi!
I am glad to see lovely Sweetie and his gorgeous blue eyes!
Love this post, the beautiful cards and read the post written on December 20th, 2005 and the comments.
Wishing you a Very Happy 2014!
(((Hugs)))
I'm glad you included darling Sweetie. As you know he has pride of place in my office.
I started my blog a few weeks after you but it was some time before I discovered you.
That was certainly a lucky day for me.
When you think blogging friends probably communicate more that off line friends so you really do get to know one another.
Long may it continue.
I wishing you a merry holiday and a happy healthy 2014. Take care dear friend.
I love the cards. Especially the Santa one.
Have a lovely 'Happy Holiday' or as we Brits say - Merry Christmas!
MERRY XMAS
And happy holidays to you, Naomi. I hope your new year will be full of joy and good things.
What a wonderful post this is! My own beautiful Dixie Rose is on the sofa, wondering what I'm ooh-ing and aah-ing about. If she knew that I was being unfaithful with other kitties, she wouldn't be pleased, let me tell you!
I don't think I've ever seen eyes so blue as those your Sweetie had. Dixie has been with me twelve years now. It's hard to believe that many years have passed - they do run quickly.
You're exactly right that they can crawl into our hearts. And what comforts they are - dogs are nice, and I haven't a thing against them. But cats are special.
Now I'm off to read the posts you linked - a nice thing to do on a quiet Christmas eve before travel tomorrow. I hope your Christmas is warm and content - just like Santa in his picture!
Sweet! My cat Vasil has an expression *identical* to the cat in the next-to-last one. Like he is thinking, "Holy shit, woman!"
Merry Christmas to you too! I will check out the links.
Just read that 2005 post! What an awesome idea - and the stories!! I am totally stealing that for my next post, with a link to you :)
they absolutely stay in our hearts forever
Happy Merry Festive dear lady
Hugs from me and the grands and the kitties
Merry Christmas and Happy Boxing Day! :) I hope you're having a wonderful time :)
I will click on the link and read your old post in a minute, but I just wanted to wish you a wonderful holiday season, my friend. I do love the kitty Christmas pics, especially the ones of the two light gray kittens (those eyes!) and your adorable Sweetie. Sending you virtual hugs and wishing you a day of peace and much love! ♥
That was fun to look back on! I'd try it on my blog but would fear that no one would comment on the fake memory, so many less commenters these days.
I do love the old fashioned cards best and Sweetie's beauty takes my breath away. I've been thinking of you this holiday season and wishing you could taste some of this gourmet chocolate Josh got me from the Chocolate Lounge in NC. xo
Love the kitty cards :) and what a lovely picture of Sweety, he was oh, such a precious cat!
Happy holidays to you, dear Naomi, wishing you all the best for 2014. Cheers!
Hi Naomi! I came to get your blog link for a friend & started reading. I didn't know Sweetie passed on & know how much you loved him. I remember you telling me about all his "bowls"- thinking of that now makes me smile.
You both gave each other so much unconditional love.
