beauty

Beauty, Close Up and Observed....It takes your breath away.....well, I should say, it takes my breath away.........Oh, do click on these pictures to see them even bigger. A breath-taking close view of an Orchid......It makes me weep. And below.....Oh my, the colors of this Orchid soar.....! Take a moment. Take it all in. The interior......The colors in this flower above are stunning even in this abstract rendering of this incredibly gorgeous flower.....I stare at this and it is bliss, for me. Another 'abstraction' of this very soft sensuous flower...more bliss....Hawaii is filled with this kind of Orchid bliss.....I remember being there in 1974 and being thrilled by the fantastic variety of Orchids.......I spent three months there---living in a rented house, surrounded by these special delicate flowers......lots and lots of bliss.....! The rich deep colors inside the 'inside' of this Orchid above, are truly sublime......No words are needed.....And below.....another Orchid from a different angle----I love these colors so much.......And then, below.....Two views of yet another Orchid, again, in a close-up abstraction......
More of the unexplainable......The colors. The design. Only Nature could create this. Only Nature could come up with these diverse strange muted colors that all work together.....Sigh.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend......

More To Come.........

I did what you said and clicked and it is breathtaking and I feel I've got my fix of beauty to see me through the day.
One of the pink ones seems to have a beautiful breaker - so typical of Hawaii. Lucky you - I only spent three days there. I'm reading Marie Helvin's autobiography so am revisiting that lovely place.

Totally love how you take us inside a flower. Came "this close" to buying an orchid the other day. Now I am sure I will take the plunge. Thanks for the push.

The colors, the shapes – everything is gorgeous. I went to the Orchid Garden in Singapore years ago, I was all alone in there and it felt like an enchanted garden. I did not have a digital camera then so my pictures are not too good. Yours are truly beautiful.

Amazing close ups! It's just the therapy I need after a week of chaos and running around. Clicking to enlarge makes a difference. You have a good eye for flowers and these orchids are a work of art. Thanks for sharing...and have a beautiful weekend, my friend! xo

They are Georgia O'Keefe-like in nature. It's interesting to see nature close up--the patterns and details are amazing. Thanks.

I am now in Bali and will by flying back to Singapore tonight. I told Seemah I will contact Lia but unfortunately when I called her shop, she wasn't there.

Anyway, I took a taxi and went to her shop and leave all the pressies there so I hope the people at the shop will pass it to her.

orchids are sensual don't you think Naomi? They thrive on their beauty and aren't afraid of showing off their best side. :)

Lovely, lovely. You're right, only nature can create such beauty.

Hi, Naomi,
Earl's CD maker (Ronda)here, finally. I just looked at that fun photo of him with the broom at the last New Year's Eve party again. Thanks for sharing those with us. I've been copying your close-up inside-the-flower technique in my Mom's flower gardens! I've been a shutterbug for many years, and you do a great job with that camera.
Is there a way I can send you pictures? I wanted to send a couple "screen snags" from your guest shot on Police Woman. (Earl's supposed to be sending me one last record, and then I will make him a few new sample CDs with 2 more tunes on them.)
I've been blogging since Jan. - I think you inspired me! Earl gets quite a few mentions on my blog, of course, esp. in a category I call "The Hottest Generation!" I put a link to your blog on mine - hope you don't mind. If you want to have a look, it's at www.ArkWindow.com - be sure to check out the SCREEN SNAGS pages, too. (They're lots of work, so someone needs to look at them - LOL!) TTYL, Ronda/OldNavy
