obama-history was made tonight

History was made tonight and I was moved to tears by this momentous and amazing happening. I honestly did not think I would see this in my lifetime...So, for me, personally, this is truly moving in every way. It makes me proud that we live in a country where such huge wonderful important changes could have taken place in my lifetime, arriving at this night when an African American is the Democratic Nominee for President. It gives me hope. He gives me hope! And we all need that.

Whatever happens....and I hope with all my heart that Obama will be our next President....This night is incredibly special in every way. We have seen history made tonight. Amen, Amen!

More To Come, Please.........

I beleive this might have been part of Martin Luther Kings dream? I cna totally understand why this is so moving for you as it was not so long ago really that this would have been impossible. Sometimes progress is good!

I hope you are starting to heal after the loss of your friend and I send you hugs.

AMEN! Now when is HRC going to admit defeat?

I'm not sure I want her as his running mate - so I hope he will consider other options.

Good Morn, this also sends shivers down my back, as a country, we are on the edge of many changes. My soul is a little heavy hearted, because am a Hilary supporter, and really thought that she understood the common person, better. As a NEW YOrk State resident, have seen first hand how she works, she has helped bring many jobs to my rural area of this state. Allthough I do work for a large corporation. And health care, and its cost. for those with out insurance, and those with, but co-pays have gotten so high. Any way that is not to be, my next idea or thought would be for a dream team, am not sure if that is feasable either. Time will tell.
Thank you so much for your blog, you bring a light to my day. And even if do not comment, read you every day. Hope this finds you in good spirits, do realize that you are still suffering, the loss of your friend. That is a process, to quite the heart, and make peace with a loss, of someone we love.

I too am excited about this and hopeful that he can go all the way to the presidency. I feel good about our country being able to look beyond skin color and hopefully someday accents or religious practices and just people by their actions. It's a great start and something hopeful for the future :)

It truly is a great moment in history. To know that so many truly want change & not just the status quo. I pray that he will be safe & I'm betting he's our next President.

Certainly, it is an historic moment. I'd hoped his success in the race, win or lose, would get us beyond some of the divisiveness of the past. Unfortunately, supporters of both tended to veer toward ad hominem accusations of racism or sexism. For heavens sakes, the majority of us are truly beyond those things. Bring on the substance!

Cheers.

I am so happy to see him as the Democratic nominee. I would also be happy for Hillary, too. Seeing a woman nominated would also be a great moment in history.
The main thing is, whoever is up there, I want the Democrats to win the Presidency.

This whole thing just goes to show how progressive and open-minded Democrats are and it makes me very proud to have always been one.

I put my post up last night about how excited I was. The future for America looked so grim for Caleb and the kids after Bush but Obama gives so much hope! I hope this energy will grow and a change will really take place! I was moved as you were watching it the other night.

Also I love your hawk photos above!

Poor Sarahs boyfriend has been told SOOOOOOOOOOOO many times in the past few weeks he looks JUST like Barack Obama.
I told him when Barack wins I am signing him up to a lookalike agency and he can get work for sure LOL
A great moment in American history indeed !

Hi Naomi. Indeed historic and change -- even if HRC had won. (Pardon me.)

I see since there was the 'white blog', strangely I see now t-shirts have the slogan 'I love being black'!

Mixed feelings though as this will be the most challenging times for anyone becoming president esp in America. Like all other leaders, Obama might have to go back on some of his promises...the world has become a global village.

Have a swell weekend.
