I'm so sorry to hear about Hanna and I look forward to learning more about her in a future post. She looks beautiful in the picture and from what you've said so far, she was a woman of strength and courage.
BTW, the candle holder is beautiful. You stumped me with this one. Good job!
So very sorry for the loss of your friend. *hugs*
I'm sorry for your loss. I've heard of a number of people who have come out of the camps and are the most inspirational people. I wonder, was it that attitude that helped them survive something so horrific, or did they develop that attitude to spite the Nazis?
I am very sorry to hear about your dear friend...
I never thought of glass when I first saw your picture!
Wow. Great pphotos. I've would never had guessed. Interesting angles and shots indeed! Well done!
I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. Ah, yes some persons just is incredible and so admirable despite the life they have had! My own Mom was like that too, which I recently have lost, so I know the feeling of lost very well right now.
They truly are Unforgettable like in the song!!!!
One can only feel proud over the fact of having known such person.... and learn from them.
Take care.
Naomi, I never would have guessed it was a glass candle holder....I bet it is beautiful when it is all lit up.
I'm so sorry to hear about your dear friend Hanna's death. It sounds like she had a long, full life. I'm looking forward to hearing more about her.
I can remember hearing my husbands Grandfather saying that the hardest part of getting old is that your friends start dying around you. He lived into his 90's and was active until the last 4 months of his life. Like Hanna, he was a very strong man.
Once again, my condolences.
Sorry Naomi to hear of your loss. SHe sounded very inspiration indeed...
As for the 'guess what' well, I was right off the track wasn't I? *heehee*
Hi Naomi! I'm sorry to read one of your friend left this earth. Do please take care of your goodself.
Sorry I haven't been following or posting one lately as I'm through some dry spells in life.
What an interesting candle holder and it's sure a creative way of blogging a post! Thank you for sharing.

I'm so sorry about the loss of your beautiful friend. Just like we figured, it's the hardest part of getting older - losing people we love. I'm glad to know a bit more about her. You have remarkable people in your life!
Boy, it wasn't a Triscuit!
Sincere condolences Naomi. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend and it doesn't help that they have lived 'to a good age'. It is always too soon to lose that rare thing - a friend one loved and admired.
It was very clever of you to choose the candle holder. See what else you can puzzle us with:)
Sorry about you friend.xx
I didn't know they made glass candles. How do they burn? Or do you mean lightbulbs?
oh my, i'm truly sorry you have lost a friend. And more sorry to hear her last years were difficult.
I can say that I hate the fact that we have reached ages where this happens to us more and more.
I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend, Naomi. She does sound like a very special woman. Sending you my sympathy.
(I never would have guessed the candle holder...lol)

Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. It sounds like she had a fantastic life and lived a good long time. That is a blessing. That and to have friends that mourn her passing.
Naomi,
I am so sorry for your loss. Sending you hugs from over the hill.
I have been sick for 8 days and out of circulation myself, so forgive my scarceness.

Naomi,
My dear friend, I am so very sorry to hear about the death of your dear friend, Hanna. I know you are incredibly sad...
On a lighter note, I love the candle holder! It is just so pretty. Love the shot you took looking down into it...
Dear Naomi- we don't know what is out there in the Great Beyond--but if there is a place called Pearly Gates Estates, where all one's fondest dreams come true, about now Hannah is reconnecting with her friends from the past who already reside there. They're telling her about the Community Theatre, encouraging her to audition for the next production, and describing her housing options--with all the cats, she will need a very special place on a feline-friendly cloud bank.

Hi Naomi: I am so sorry to hear about your dear friend Hanna. A few months ago, I was trolling through your blog archives and saw her picture (at your birthday party I believe it was, if not then forgive me).
It is so hard to lose one's friends one by one in our twilight years and it is even harder to accept.
After all the memorial stuff, I will look forward to your posting about Hanna.
Take care, Love, Anne
How very sad that you've lost your dear friend, Hanna.
What an extraordinary woman! What a survivor, as you said.
I know you are grieving the loss, and it makes me sad knowing how sad you are feeling.
I missed out on guessing, but I would never have gotten it. I like those great, up close shots. They do give a neat perspective.
Finn is an adorable doggie! I can see why you are taken with him.
I hope your weekend is not too heavy with sadness.
I know that grief can really weigh one down, and it comes and goes in waves.
I look forward to reading more about this dear friend of yours and some of the things about her life.

I'm so sorry for your loss... :( It's one of those things about life that I don't like, you know, the ending? (sigh)
I'm looking forward to your post about her. (hugs)
My sympathies for your loss. It is the memories that we leave others which are the greatest epitaph.
My sympathy to you and to Hanna's friends and family. 88 years... that's a great age. She must have been a strong woman, to have survived the Nazis and then to have survived 3 husbands! So sorry to hear abot your loss.
And the candle holder.... well! I would nver have guessed in a million years.....
Keep on with the mystery shots, they are fun!
Sorry about your friend. I had to Google her,I think she achieved quite a bit, even if she was not as popular as in her native country. Her personal life sounds even more interesting.
I would love to hear more about her.
Oh Naomi I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. I know you will do a beautiful tribute to her and I look forward to knowing more about her.
Hugs!
My deepest sympathy. She sounds wonderful.
Naomi, am sending you my prayers, as I know your heart is breaking. It is so hard to say good by to someone we love, be it a friend or family. It's top on my list of things to ask him when I get there. But memories, are one of his greatest gifts to us, and they can help us thru the process. Am sending you a hug. And thank you for the guessing game, was I way off. Can see how the color of an object behind the candle holder reflects the light.
By the way the photo's of Flinn, he's very cute. Sometime, I will have to tell you about Brandy and Chottie, they are my granddogs, Brandy is a red hotdog, mini, and Chottie, is a rottie/chow mix. who looks like a fuzzy rottie. Any way enough babble from me. And again my sympathy, to you and Hanna's passing. Pat
I still don't understand how a life just stops like that. So sad, so much to miss.
I'm choking up over Ted Kennedy today too. It stirs up what was already lost with his brothers and MLK and what might have been.
I was away at agranddaughters college graduation and missed this post until today.
Please know how sad I am for your loss and understand the time needed to soften such heartbreak.
