More To Come......
you ALWAYS have the best birthday get togethers!! But that's because you have such wonderful and caring friends.. you are right about "no presents", you can't really ask for more then having such great and long lasting friends!!
Everyone looks simply MAHVALOUS DARLING!
I truly feel like "I" was there with all of you....right down to the goodbye waves. Thanks so much for sharing all of this with us, Naomi.
That cake was gorgeous and I bet it was yummy!
A special celebration of women for one woman in particular. And you deserved it!
Again....Happy 76 and a great year ahead to you.
(The flowers DID look spectacular on the table!)
May you and the "ladies who lunch" be able to meet in your home for many, many more happy and healthy birthdays, Naomi.
You look great in the pic; at least you got into a couple of them!
I agree with the "no presents" rule. These days, the last thing I need is another bibelot to sit around and gather dust! Your party ws a success, the food good, the company scintillating and I wish I was there!
What a perfect celebration with your youthful friends! You all look so full of life....and so well put together too! I can almost taste the cake and am drooling.
(I also got a glimpse of a neat old stove in the kitchen!)
It looks like you had a wonderful day with the ladies...Those salads look delicious, what a treat. The ladies look wonderful, make-up or not. I enjoy having my closest friends over and just sitting around on the sofa with our shoes off and curled up and comfey.
I'm glad you had such a wonderful birthday.....
Just as described, a lovely and inviting warm afternoon shared with dear old friends, a delightful lunch, a perfectly decorated chocolate birthday cake and every moment together filled with memories.
What a lovely birthday celebration you had! It's always nice to just spend an afternoon with "the girls"!
Dear Naomi, I have just read both posts about your wonderful birthday lunch!! The food looks wonderful and I'm sure that cake was quite delicious as well!! I loved all the pictures of your sweet and dear friends that came to visit. Too bad Betty or Annie couldn't be there. I'm glad Betty is doing better now. The flowers Terri sent are lovely!!
I noticed in one picture, is that an old antique cook stove you have there? It looks really pretty!
So glad you had a wonderful time with such lovely friends! Yes, their visit and friendship is the best gift of all. xxx
What a delightful set of pictures to share with us so we get to be there too. Those ladies are all so beautiful and examples of sexy women of a 'certain' age
What a fabulous cake, so unique and original! I hope your birthday was the grandest one ever!
Michele sent me back, Naomi. I'd love to eat chocolate cake with a hint of coffee flavor! My two favorites.
Hi Naomi,
Thanks for stopping by our site, and yes, whilst we had to much food, I think that you have way to much cake there for yourself, how about you send some my way!!! lol
Hope that you had a wonderful day (and whilst I am here from Michele's, I am replying to your visit!!)
Cheers for now
Bernie
What a lovely group of women you are. Good friends and family, what more can one want out of life--ok, a few million bucks wouldn't hurt, lol. I'd settle for getting my book published, lol. Happy Birthday again!
Hi Naomi,
You have left me with a broad smile on my face. What beautiful friends! I actually waved at the photo of them waving. I felt like I was there! Thank you for sharing this.
How exciting to have YOU in the photos too! You guys look like you are having so much fun I was just taken right in with you....the goodbye waves made me just feel apart of your birthday celebration too. Thank you for sharing with us!
You all looked SMASHING!!!!
Looks like everyone had a wonderful time. Happy Birthday!
What a great time & thanks for letting us in on it! I hope I look as good as you when I hit 76!
People truly are the greatest gifts. :) I'm so glad you had some wonderful time with your friends.
Oh wow! I felt like I was there with you Naomi. You have a wonderful ability to share your life with us like we are all of your best friends. Thank you. (The cake looked stunning and so do all of your friends! I only wish I get to make and keep friends like you.)
What a lovely birthday celebration, Naomi!! everything was just perfect! I love your t-shirt and all your pictures, particularly the ones of you because you are almost always behind the camera, lol!
The bday cake is some creation, it looks delicious too, mmmmhhhh!
Hi Naomi! Wow...you all look like super-stars! -- better looking than the screen or tv stars! Beautiful ladies! How did you keep yourselves so youthful huh?
Each one at the party there is the gift! Many happy returns of the day again.
Who needs presents when you have such good friends?! That is what being rich really is adn you are so lucky to be blessed in that area. Actually, I don't really think it comes down to luck but your own lovely personality!
I love the look of the cake - kind of 'messy' looking but sumptious and decadent too.
I am so glad you had a lovely day. Thanks for sharing it with us :)
Naomi, we saw your crew in the final performance of "Morning's at Seven" yesterday at Theatre West. It was a magnificent production, as you know, in my opinion better than the two Broadway revivals I've seen in 1980 and 2002. How great to see Betty in the part of Cora. She was perfect but I was also blown away by Seemah Wilder and Diane Travis as Ida and Aaronetta. WOW, they were just fantastic. What a great show, and beautifully directed too. I am so glad that I was able to see this before it closed. And then to see folks like Kim and Ann Morgan Guilbert in the audience, I felt like I was spending the afternoon inside your blog! That is one performance I'll never forget, I only wish you could've been there with us.
Oh, you charming ladies know how to celebrate and bear age with grace. I would so have liked to be a flie on the wall to see you all and listen to your talks. And steal something of the wonderful meal. LOL.
Thanks for sharing this moment with us all.
What a wonderful Birthday commemoration, Naomi! Sounds you all had a lovely lunch! The cake looks very creative and yummy! I love all photos and you look really great! Many hugs!
That was a pretty cake, Naomi. The candle number was well chosen. 76 candles would have taken a long time to blow out.
It's not often one gets to see so many bare toes in one post. LOL Thanks, I think.
You can chalk up another wonderful birthday and another divine luncheon at your place.
That cake was so cute! Very festive!!
Suddenly, I'm hungry for Cobb Salad and chocolate cake for dessert.
Your friends are lovely ladies.
I really like the picture of you blowing out the candles. That's a Hollywood ACTION shot!!
Thank you Naomi, for sharing this wonderful day with us. What a happy place is your home, and happy friends in your life.
I hope you had a lovely birthday, Naomi...sorry I haven't been by in awhile...super busy.
Love,
Kendra
There is no way anyone could look at these photos, read your words and not be happy! All the joy you all have together is so obvious. And I feel quite privileged to be able to feel like I was there too. So do you only do Ladies Who Lunch for birthdays? I noticed a painting on the wall behind the closeup photo of Bridget - the face in the painting has so much character. did you paint it? (Sorry if I'm being nosey - I tend to really look at photos and happened to notice it. I hope it's not too hot down there, up here in the Bay Area we are coming on some HOT temps.
What a wonder afternoon with friends! Your cake looks so sweet! I love birthday cake. In the picture of you blowing out the candles, what is that piece of furniture behind you? Looks like a stove?? I love how your house is filled with light. My house is dark because of the layout and lack of windows in the living area. My dining room has light but I don't spend much time in there.
You had commented on the beach here and they are all mostly wide here in Northwest Florida. We have been having more erosion from the hurricanes and I can tell a difference in the size of the beachfront in some places. When we were little, the sand dunes were very high, but over the years and with the storms, they are washing away. But I feel so blessed to live in this beautiful place.
I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall listening to you guys discuss "the biz." It looks like everyone had a great time. Bravo should do a reality show about you!
I'm so sorry I'm late... :-(
I wasn't very well over the weekend and busy at work so far this week.
I love the Ladies What Lunch - and I adore those beautiful portrait shots of them.
But most of all, I love the photo of you blowing out your candles...
:-)
btw - SO glad Betty is feeling a bit better.

OMG You have gorgeous visitors and they all look lovely indeed. The cake and the food look scrumptious as well! It is so nice seeing you having a wonderful bday lunch!
My 16-year-old daughter is wearing a short pant with spenders. She thinks of herself as Indie kid. You are stylish all the time. haha.
You know how I love to blog about special cakes! Terri has one too. So do I still on my front page.
This reminds me of one of my family gatherings. We usually take pictures of feet or some other unlikely photo op.
What a great looking group!
Looks like a fun party (as always!)! And that cake looks yum-meeeeeee!!!!!
Naomi - I am so sorry I missed your birthday. That's what happens when one is in a boat without access to the world! It looks like your day was just as fabulous as you!
Sure looked like a wonderful way to spend your birthday. Happy Belated Birthday.
Ohhhhhhh DEAR Naomi! I have been SO naughty not to get over here to visit you!!! I've been SO busy lately and then staying with Daisy for 4 days... But I'm here now - and read PART DEUX and I will be back to read the upper posts tomorrow! I PROMISE! (after work and grocery shopping...) LOL! I'm SO glad you had such a lovely birthday -- and that cake really IS adorable! Looks like we BOTH had some great "girl time" recently!
Oh, I love that Bday cake, Naomi!
Would you recommend Sweet Lady Jane? My bday is coming up, and if they're great, I can tell B to get my cake there. :)
What a wonderful time you must have had.
