So I got it opened....(it wasn't easy, either, lol) and there inside was a BEAUTIFUL Bouquet of Fresh Flowers, with a vase! Yes! Fresh Flowers in a box...will wonders never cease! And I couldn't have been more surprised because I had never recieved flowers sent like this before....And they are truly gorgeous! WHO SENT THEM? Ahhhhh, that is the best surprise of all. One of my very first blog friends, who happens to be from Kentucky, the very dear dear Rachel from Sliding Through Life, and she sent them to me as an early Birthday present.....Now, just how lovely and thoughtful is that? To say I was touched by this is an understatement.....Besides being such a generous caring thing to do which warmed my heart, to see these truly exquisite flowers just gave me such a lift! The colors are so vibrant and happy!
This bouquet is a true joy to look at, as you can see from these pictures.....And here are a few more picture----for you to enjoy.
Thank you dear Rachel, for making my difficult week, lighter and filled with so much colorful joy. I send you big hugs, dear dear Rachel.....
And another lovely surprise came from one of my newest blog friends.....Pearl, of PearliesOfWisdom.....A lovely lady from Toronto, Canada who sent me the most Beautiful book to hold photographs.....it is a work-of-art, in and unto itself! I hope this picture does it justice.... It's made of many things....Wood, being one of them as well as parchment.....She also sent me a Travel Journal....a lovely light weight book that I can write in or draw in, as the case may be....And here it is. Again, a lovely thoughtful generous thing to do.....I was overwhelmed by the sweetness of these gifts....It says so much about the blog world that friendships can be formed that are unexplainable in a way, except to say, in some way we touch each others hearts, and that transcends distance and time and age....And I think that is such a lovely and important thing.....don't you?
Thank you both, dear Rachel and dear Pearl, from the bottom of my heart....You have made this coming Birthday richer in every way by your thoughtfullness and caring friendship across the miles....Bless you both.
More To Come......
What fabulous flowers and such thoughtful gifts from Rachel and Pearl.......
I am ever so bad at gift-buying, but for your birthday I send you love, and gentle hugs, wishes for a relaxing week and some time with your best friends, that you fill your book with memories and sketches of life and that those flowers bloom and enchant you for weeks......
Michele sent me to see what you're getting for your birthday, but then you know you can always find me loitering around the Hills.

Beautiful flowers! And, the photo album and travel journal are truly lovely.
I wish you much joy for your birthday.
Well, aren't you the lucky one?! How did they know your address? The gerberas and solidago with lemon leaf (salal) is a good choice!
I am, like CQ, not so good at buying presents either, but I also send you bouquets and cake and love on the 27th!
Re your comment: If you only knew how close we each came to killing someone...LOL....and it wasn't the same person twice! With 16 people around, nearly everyone needs to be smacked down sometime (me included)!
...and you enrich our lives with your words and photos.
I'm sure you'll find creative ways to fill the pages of the album and the journal. Use them in good health.
Michele sent me back :-)
I just wanted to say I adore that first photo........it looks like an alien landscape - isn't nature absolutely fabulous......??

Isn't it great to be so special?!!! Hugs to you Naomi!!
These are lovely! I am so sorry you had such a hard time with the DMV. If only people would realize that just a little patience and time everything can work out and no one has to be rude to make things run smoothly. You have great friends and that furry little friend is most helpful too.
As for the flowers, are these the Berber daisies? Such beautiful colors.... an early wish for a happy birthday!
The daisies are smiling! I agree, blogging friends are special. We may never see each other, but we are not far away in a sense. I hope your birthday week is great...looks like it's off to a good start.
Oh how lovely and what wonderful surprises! Those flowers are indeed beautiful, colourful and joyful! And the books are very thoughtful gifts too - I have no doubt the photo book will be full of your marvellous pics in no time!

I'm glad you are feeling better Naomi..
Naomi, friends and family, now what could be a greater gift from God. And the flowers he surounds us with. Hope this week goes better for you. And thank you for all you do to share your world around you. It brightens all of our lives daily. Pat from NY.
Good morning Naomi! If you have the time, take a look on my brand new blog named ONLY PHOTOS where I will post only photos without words. Have a nice week!
I used to be one of those people who didn't "get" flowers. What's the big deal, I would think, they're just going to die soon anyway (what a romantic, right? you can imagine how many times poor Kendall received flowers from me...). But I have to say that almost exclusively from your blog, both from the amazing photos you've shared of your own garden as well as your uncanny ability to photograph flower arrangements so beautifully that they seem to burst out of the computer screen, you have single-handedly turned me into a flower lover! A flower lover AND a lover of photographs from nature. You have the power to create photos that are even more beautiful than real life--I need you to follow me around and take photos of my life so I can appreciate it more through your lens!
Sorry we've been so out of touch, Naomi. Just slogging through our own travails over here. But hearing that your birthday is fast approaching we are very much aware that we haven't made good on our promise from last year and would like to rectify that SOON! Also very touched to see Pearl's generosity since she practically feels like a member of the family (even though I've never met her!).
Our blogging friends can be just as wonderful as the ones we SEE everyday. Have a happy birthday!
dANNY, "bro", WHAT A SWEET THING TO SAY!
