And then below.....this glorious flower----opened finally, for all the world to see in all it's petite intricate sublime beauty....
And here below...the "arrangement" as it stood on Easter Sunday....brightening the room and brightening my life.....Oh the pleasure.....the true true pleasure of it all.....!
beautiful, as usual!
That arrangement is just sumptious! The colours are so rich, I bet they just brighten up the spot they are in adn they do look good enough to eat :-) Thanks for sharing them with us :-)
Ohhhh YES! THAT is my favorite color! Uh-hunh! THAT one! Yep... and that one! Naomi that arrangement is soooooo gorgeous! I only know of nasturtiums (sp?) being edible -- I know there ARE others but I don't know which ones either... I didn't think tulips were though... but, of course, I could be ever so wrong!!! LOL!
Lady of the Hills,
Good Friday morning to you !
You have the most exquisite eye for capturing beauty !!! I don't think I've ever seen flowers look lovelier, and I love pretty things !
Nothing clashes in nature...
Good enough to eat, indeed, they are -- even if technically they aren't, they look like they could be !
What a great way to start my morning, by visiting here !
I cannot imagine how welcoming your home must be with your enjoyment of things like this... I bet every week is Easter Sunday or a variation of it for you --
You are an artist with that camera!
Don't stop clicking!
You have a beautiful eye for capturing the beauty!
Gorgeous!
Thank you for sharing them!
Huggles and Love,
Raggedy
Here from Michele and oh, so glad to see the wonderful colors and blooms. It's snowing here and I'm starting to despair of spring ever showing up.
Thanks for that lift. I needed it today!
Those flowers are so very beautiful, Naomi, but still they don't make me hungry. I guess flowers only hold appeal to my eye.
Speaking of lovely flowers, I couldn't sleep last night and ended up watching a movie I taped off of TCM a few months ago. Take Me Out to the Ballgame.
I remember you did a post on Busby Berkeley a while back and you probably mentioned this movie but it had slipped my mind. I was quite surprised to see that your friend Betty Garrett co-starred in it. She really kept Sinatra on his toes!
I adore those colors!!!
So vibrant...so alive...
Have a sunny beautiful day my friend!!!
Maria
Whomever said those colors don't go together and clash... well, what can I say... we'll just say they may possibly have missed out on the color gene. But you're an artist, you know that. :)
Pink and orange are very flattering to each other, not to mention red, yellow and green.
We have to talk about your florist. Those arrangements are lovely.
~S
Just truly gorgeous, Naomi! You have a very good florist.
My boss has 4 weddings this weekend, and 1 of them is in that color family.
You can eat rose petals, although they are bitter. You can eat lilacs, they are a little better. Pansies are pretty in a salad, but don't taste too good. Just so you know. When I make a punch for a shower or something, i always freeze pansies in ice cube trays with a little water, then they can float around in the punch. So pretty!!!!
That is a gorgeous arrangement...so very pretty.
Kendra
I love those colors - so pretty!
Naomi, I can't stop saying this, but you are simply the most talented nature photographer I've ever seen. Truly, you should be getting thousands of dollars for every photograph you take. How do you do it? One day I'd like to watch you with that camera. Your photos are even more beautiful than real life!
What a beautiful set of flowers you have. I love the rich colours and I bet they smell good too!
Yes, they do warm the heart and soul. Their loveliness takes my breath away thinking of the beauty they bring to the days of our lives when spring blooms once again to color our world with nature's painted artistry.
I'm not saying this, just to say this, but I believe this is the most beautiful, colorful arrangement I've ever seen.
Oooh la la! My eyes are popping. Good enough to smell, eat, or breathe. Don't you just love color? Where would we be without it?
Beautiful arrangement and lovely pictures. :)
Those flower colors don't clash in that arrangement, but truth be told, I'm not sure I'd like to see those colors all at once on a 400 pound woman walking down the street. ;)
Oooooo, gorgeous! Snappies are my FAVORITE flower!
When my now 12 yos was 3, he picked snapdraggons for his little flower garden. He was sooooo proud of his garden (and subsequent gardens filled with snapdraggons).
He would tend to his little plot with such precision and care so he could grow the very best "snappies".
Thanks for that sweet memory!
Here via Michele's,
Chelle
i am so glad for the flowers, and I am glad that you shared them with us, Thank you!
You are a frighteninly good photographer Naomi!
Breathtaking............
The most impressive flower pictures I've seen so far.
Thanks for sharing such wonders.
Nature is simply stunning isn't it? Your photos are wonderful - great clear shots, well done... (And I love all those colours together!!)
Such wonderful colors in those flowers Naomi. You do such a great job of photographing them too!! You bring them so close to me here that I can almost smell them and I want to reach out and touch them!!
Loved your post about Morris Broderson as well. I've been busy and didn't get on here at all yesterday! He was a great painter!! How wonderful that you own several of his paintings to brighten your home!
Your site is always a site for sore eyes. Pardon the pun! The flowers are so exotic - what one would expect with all that lovely sun. I just popped over to say hello and - forgive me - has anyone ever told you your photo has a look of Joan Collins at her early best? You look so cool!
Don't you dare stop clicking! Those were incredible...beautiful!
You need to be entering shows!
So beautiful, Naomi! Just stunning photos as always! I can feel the perfume!
Have a beautiful day, dear friend!
I don't get it. I KNOW I commented yesterday on this. Early !!!
Your pictures are exquisite, Lady !
Breathtakingly Bea-u-ti-ful!!
and Michele sent me over to tell you so!! :o)
Can I frame one of your images next to one of mine on my living room wall? It would be an honor to have my work hanging next to yours. Not sure my visions would measure up to yours, but at the very least I'd be in great company.
Your work continues to amaze, Naomi. Your artistic gift seems to know no limits. That's a good thing.
Oh my gosh those may be the most beautiful flower shots I have ever seen!
Absolutely gorgeous!!!
Thank you OLOTH!
Michele sent me back to tell you that the flower you refered to as glorious, is a scabiosa. Did you know that?
OMG those are the MOST AMAZING PHOTOS EVER!!!!! Unreal. Truly. You're so incredibly talented!
Very nice. It's raining here today, but the flowers are stating to bloom everywhere!
Michele sent me this afternoon,
Mike
Michele sent me - and those are absolutely gorgeous spring flowers . . . btw - you can eat nasturtiums . . .
Your floral photos spring to life...brightening my bleak-looking Toronto day.
Thank you.
you always have the most beautiful flowers! it's so uplifting to see. i love coming to visit your corner of the world because it seems you always have something beautiful, be it your flowers or your stories. thank you, Naomi, for brightening my day.
does it seem like i am always saying something like this to you? well, it makes it no less true.
I clicked over from Danny's blog and just wanted to say how much I enjoyed clicking though your lovely flower portraits! :)
Talk about artistic talent! You certainly demonstrate it with your photography and the work you show us. Some of those flowers looked like paintings and some so real, I could almost inhale their scent.
From the bottom of my heart: I have to buy a camera that can bring at least half of the splendour you share.
once again: My English to childish to express...
Hope you will have with my friend in Vence--
Hugs from early Spring Norway
the flowers are so gorgeous! you captured the very essence of spring in those photos.
