It's amazing how much the flowers have changed but you're right still very beautiful.

Ah, not just paintings, Naomi, a bevy of old Dutch masterpieces!! The veining is lovely.
Just gorgeous! I can never seem to capture such clear close-ups. They do look like paintings.

Good Monday Morning Lady !
Exquisite 'paintings' with your camera ! You truly have a gift at capturing the beauty of those flowers. Wow.
You ought to sell your work -- or maybe you already do.
These would make an awesome series of prints/placemats/coasters, you name it, depending on how you priced them...
Luscious...
It's not the first time you have captured nature so magnificently --
They are so nice Naomi. Reminds me that my mother also do something like that with some flowers either she does this book press thingy
Beautiful and very much like a painting, the feeling of an O'Keeffe painting
I agree. At first glance I thought the first picture was a painting of yours:-). Wonderful photos, Thanks for sharing the beauty.
Have a great day!!
They are still lovely....such beauty that God created...amazing.
Kendra

That top photo sure does look like a painting.
I've never heard of "painting with a camera" before, but after this post, it makes perfect sense to me.
You are right Naomi - that first photo really does look like a painting from the 18th century. It truly does. Lovely, lovely, lovely.
Wow! Just beautiful, Naomi! Amazing photos!
Dear Naomi, I have nominated you for a Thinking Bloggers Award! Take a look on my current post to know the rules. Cheers! Many hugs!
Sure dear Naomi, I truly understand
that you don't choose any people for this honor. And thank you so much for said that I would be one of those 5, too. Many hugs my dear friend!
Those flowers and photos are lovely.
Yeah, in the summer... I like to go out into my garden and paint / sketch the blooming flowers. It relaxes me.
So so like art! How can anyone not be inspired by such beauty? I just love the last photo.
Hi Naomi,...I got your site from over at Melli's place.Your pictures are truly a work of Art!!
What kind of camera do you own that takes such great shots??
I will bookmark your page and return later.Have a good day. Baba
they certainly are gorgeous! Nature always has hidden surprises for us doesn't she?!!
They certaintly do look like a painting. But you captured them as a true artist! They're utterly gorgeous. Those would make incredible framed photographs.
All I can say about these are "Wow!"
Breath taking pictures Naomi!!
Hope you are well. Big hugs to you and a pet to Sweetie!!
They are gorgeous, Naomi! Just gorgeous!
Love these colors... not exactly yellow and not apricot but something in between... help me here... what fruit is this color and in between a lemon and an apricot. Gorgeous!
PS: I gave a hug to Nick for you. Let us know how Sweetie is doing.
They are beautiful, Naomi. There's a lot of enjoyment to be had from doing still lifes with a camera. I know you're an experienced artist with paints, so photography is a nice extension of that painting ability of yours. I did one photo last Fall that had a similar affect on me. I wish I could do it more often.
Painting with light again Naomi....? [grin].
[looks impressed as always].
Yes the pics speaks for them self but it was nice to read the post too - thanks for sharing!
Reminds me of spring as we finally have got it in Norway this year too:-)
Naomi, I don't know about Tai Chi helping after you get shingles. The research was done with people who did tai chi before getting shingles - not afterward. I'll bet it might help him anyway; tai chi is so calming and serene. Tell him to try it. It may take months, but every little bit helps, you know?
You are a painter indeed with that camera Naomi. It just seems very natural to you....it is hard to explain. But all your photos are just like an extension of yourself. Very real, very enduring, not overdone or calculated...does that make any sense at all?
I am saying you're a natural talent basically! Very pretty colors too!
Your camera really does paint beautiful blossoms, but the artist in you paints pictures of your own beauty.
Belated Happy Easter!
These photos are truly awesome.
Love these!
Hello, Michele sent me.
I always like visiting your site because you seem to capture some really amazing pictures - especially closeups of flowers.
How did I miss this post?
I love the faded shades of these cabbagey roses, Naomi. Must get your florist's name/address/phone.
