Wow! Those photos are amazing!
Did you just let it be, or call someone to come and get it?
The most interesting creatures i get, are kangaroos :(
Have a great rest of the weekend.
Ps. Here from Micheles
What a handsome chap :-) I didn't realise the Californian Bobcat was still prevalent.
I do hope he comes back to visit you again :-) Your beautiful garden must be a haven for the little man.

How wonderful that you were there at the right moment and with your camera too! I suspect he/she visits quite often but you normally wouldn't see him as cats are notorious for hiding away from humans. I hope you get to see him again. I suspect he is very useful for controlling any rodent activity in the that area of the hills!
Truly marvellous!
On a different note - those quizzes are very tongue in cheek but they are fun aren't they... and perfect when I need something quick for my blog as I am busy!
You have displayed beautiful photos. I loved the view of the 2nd one. Are Bobcats dangerous? I don't think we have them here.

Naomi, what an exciting visitor! More so than the one I had yesterday...LOL. I am really glad we don't have those here....they might eat my bunnies, deer and kitties!
He's gorgeous, though, and what a treat to see one up close and personal (well, not too up close...LOL). Did you name him Rufus?
Wow! Those pictures are just amazing, awesome! A Bobcat in your yard-garden! And you are so luck to had the great opportunity to see this beautiful creature and taken so gorgeous photo! Great Naomi! You did a good work!
And the site Desert USA is great, too! Thank you!
Oh wow! You sure beat me when I lived in Ca lol.. all I saw in my "yard" was an Possum, and a skunk (different times..) oh and the 80 lb. African Serval that was owned by my roomie..heh. wanna guess who the skunk squirted?... it was not fun!
I hope the bobcat finds it's way back home without being harmed.
Wow! That is exciting! We've had coyotes, but never any feline visitors (other than domesticated). And how lucky that you were able to snap some photos of him :)
I read "more about The California Bobcat" and learned a great deal I am however concerned about the fact that they like living in the hills among the thriving healthy bush so close to where so many unsuspecting people thrive.
While they are a truly beautiful creature, they are also truly dangerous. Have you alerted the Wildlife folks?
and hopefully Sweety is an inside kitty!
Awesome ;)
That is brilliant ;)
There is nothing liek getting close to nature ;)
I went to a friends house last weekend and witnessed some of nature first hand and it really is a pleasant experience ;)
I can't help but think that you were fated to see him. He was fated to have his story shared in this way, to have us learn more about this beautiful animal.
I can always count on a wonderful vision of your world every time I visit your site, Naomi. Thanks!
Wow! A visiting bobcat! How cool! And it's great that you had your camera handy to get the pix to share with us.
I had NO IDEA you were running a wild life preserve on your property!
Do you charge admission? :-)
Blog buddies get in free of charge, of course. :)
Especially if they bring chocolate truffles!!
That truly is both exciting and scary.
Had you been strolling through your garden at the time of his arrival, I bet you would have peed your pants!! YIKES!
He's a beautiful creature. I'm glad you got some good photos of him.
Just popped in to say goodnight Naomi and my goodness - what a post. I wonder if our own bob-kat has seen it? Broad daylight too. Would it be dangerous to humans? If so be very careful. Remember it's a jungle out there:)
I just popped back to see your new visitor before going to bed. I still love these photos of him :-)
Goodnight, honey.

I've had a fox in my garden... but that was nothing compared to a Bobcat..........! Amazing.
They do say to always carry your camera. It seems that you're living proof of that Naomi!
[falls off chair in shock]
wow - I have published a review of not only a film you haven't seen but a JD film you haven't seen??
You will *adore* Benny and Joon....
cq
How cool to see something like that and actually have your camera in your hand to capture it! What a beautiful view you have! Can you see the Kodak theater from your house?
Michele sent me!
Wow, Naomi. How rare. Wild Cats in general tend to stay under cover, that's for sure. He looks tiny. My sister rehabbed animals, and took care of one that couldn't be released to the wild. But to see one in the wild, what a nice surprise! (and I'm glad it wasn't a mountain lion, lol).
Great capture! Thanks for sharing your visitor.
~S
he sure is lovely.
Kendra
Ahh I can see why you thought Mark and I would love to see these. Can you imagine how excited Mark would have gotten, after his reaction to the squirrel and the deer HAHAHAHA
What a nice visitor to have, a little scary as well though.
Great photos! Here via Michele's.
I come to see again those amazing photos, Naomi! It's awesome to see a Bobcat in a Big City like Los Angeles! Just great! I hope you can see Bobcat again!
And Sweetie, he saw the Bobcat?
Have a lovely week!
PS: If this comment is double, please, delete it.
OMG!!!!! I was going to (and maybe still will) post about the fact that my neighbor spotted a MOUNTAIN LION in the woods directly behind my condo.
While your bobcat is beautiful, I am *freaking out* about the idea of having a mountain lion in the vicinity! Yikes...I'm such a city girl.
Thanks for stopping by several times this weekend!
thats AWESOME!
what a sleek little beauty it is too! my mom would be jealous (as long as it didnt try to eat her birds!)
we are back from florida now, adn i will be posting lots of outdoorsy pictures over the next few days, sadly the only wildlife i saw was at zoos and theme parks. here i was tramping through the swamps when i couldve just sat on your patio!
OMG Naomi! When I was looking at the pictures I had that sudden thought of that looks like a bobcat! I can't believe that was in your garden. That is DAMN exciting!
Wow. He is devine!!! So beautiful - just look at him!! Amazing!!!!! I am such a cat person, and I especially love these beautiful wildcats. I would have been thrilled to see him too. And how lucky that you had your camera too!! Wow!! :)
Wow! Great pictures!! We see bobcats alot here.. But we are also backing up to a huge hunting club where I live..
Very good pictures!
I came back to look at your wonderful pics again. That Bobcat is gorgeous! As it is spring then he/she might be out looking for a mate?
BTW - thanks for stopping by my blog as ever. I am having an apalling time with this essay so your well wishes are much appreciated. The muppets clip made me smile. I love that Kermit was your favourite. He is sooo the harassed Production / Stage Manager. After my experience in theatre he makes me laugh even more, as does Miss Piggy as the 'Prima Donna' star LOL! I have a whole new perspective on it as an adult that I didn't have as a child.
Do let us know if you see your bobcat again. It must have been so exciting to spot him! It reminds me of a time I saw a big cat in the woods! Yep, we do have them in the UK though some people refuse to believe it.
I always feel 'chosen' and 'special' when some thing visits that is rare. I can tell that you also have these feelings!!! On Sunday I saw my second Platypus ever in the wild. Well two of them at a place called Eungella in the north of Queensland, Australia, high in the mountains on a plateau. BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Thank you for your photos.
Keep well...
....so cool to see your photos...wow.
WOW!!! Great pics...I'm sure it was pretty exiting...I'm guessing he loved your garden:)
Maria
Please, please don't let any wildlife etc. people or organizations know about little "Bobbie"! You saw the Desert "Facts" article--Fish and Wildlife see him as part of some bimbo's fur coat, a commercial resource! So be cool--don't blow his cover to people in the neighborhood. Every block has a busybody nut who wants to "clean up" the area and make it "safe". Everyone who lives in hillside areas should be like you--understanding of and respectful of nature. If they are scared of critters, they should be living in Sierra Towers!!!!
Love and luck to him, and to you and Sweetie.
That is amazing! In East Texas we use to see bobcats when we lived in the country, amazing animals! But to see them in a city like LA...that's cool!!!
Have a wonderful day!!
Wow! Wow!
That is so cool!
Thank you for shaing your garden vistior with us.
Awesome!
Huggles and Love,
Raggedy
That is so cool, to see a bobcat! I saw my first coyotes in my area -- Boston. I was walking my dog and two coyotes stood up in some tall grass. Scary, because my dog is exactly the size they could use as lunch meat.
How cool is that?! I love it!
That was like "Where's Waldo?", I finally did see it when I enlarged the picture.
We have sightings around here too & you're right, they're scary. The packs of coyotes sound creepy.
But that lil guy sure looks at home in your garden.
He or she is beautiful... hope there were no incidents with cars and that Sweetie was inside. Of course a gorgeous cat like Sweetie would rather sit and look upon his subjects than dig in the dirt.
How thrilling having that bobcat in your garden. Life is full of memorable pleasures isn't it?
You must have been floored! I thought it was a cat until the last photo! It's obvious it's a whild thing!
PS I meant to say: Feel better soon!
I've only seen bobkats in zoos, Naomi. It's great that you got to see him. I guess it's not a good time to have Snowball escape outside. Keep an eye on the pretty fellow, Naomi.
Wow, Naomi! That's amazing! I can only imagine how surprised you were to see THIS on your property. What a gift that was. He's truly awesome. So sleek and regal and thanks for sharing him with us.
(Sure hope you're feeling better!)
Hi, Ol just finished reading your most recent post.Your visitor, how special, great photo's. I have never seen a bobcat outside of a zoo. Although the area of NYS that hail from, has lots, and live in a very rual setting. but never have seen. Also looking at your photo's of Dom DeLuise, he could make me laugh. how special that he is your friend. Hope this finds you feeling better. pat.
That is so very cool! I love bobcats. It is so very sad that we (as a society) are completely destroying their home. Maybe they are making a comeback?
