your fired!

Your fired! And your fired, too!

That's right.

Your Fired, Trump, and so are you Howie!

You are both so fired, I can taste it!

I'm trying to understand these two programs.....Maybe my brain is being destroyed by the rays from the television tube....But all I know is, I cannot follow what that "Deal Or No Deal" is all about...I do not get how it works, at all! Oh yes, I understand it is all about Greed, that much I get....(isn't everything on television now based on that?) But, do I understand how these people make any kind of decision as to what to do next about those silver cases? NO! I do not get it at all, and frankly, I think it is just about the most boring thing I have ever seen....! More boring than watching paint dry! Maybe I have watched 4 minutes of it all together....But for my money...I would just take it off the air tomorrow morning, and replace it with paint drying! Howie, your fired!

And, El Trumpo? Oh you are soooo fired too! All your so called "show" is really really about is selling you and the related commodities that carry your name! It is just one l-o-n-g commercial for you and everything you are selling, Mr. Snake Oil....

And NBC is selling this little 12 inch doll, that actually says "your fired", among other things, (Talk about Greed...)....You can buy this Donald Trump doll, here....!

They say, and I say it myself, 'well, you can just change the channel you know....You don't have to watch these programs'. Well, in fact I don't usually watch these programs and truthfully, I didn't really watch them tonight....but they were on, filling up the airwaves with one long commercial for Greed Or More Greed.....

Disgusting and Shameful NBC!

Moving Right Along......Okay. What I did watch was a really wonderful little film called "Something New"....with the very beautiful Sanaa Lathan and the most attractive Simon Baker. (I want me some of that....I mean I may be old but I'm not dead yet!) This film is a wonderfully written story of an interacial relationship that almost doesn't happen...I won't go into great detail here except to say, if you like romantic films that actually have something to say too, you will love this film! I know I did.And I just happened to trip over it by accident, you know? It was a refreshing and honest look at two people falling in love in spite of there being so much against it working out....and utlimately, following their hearts and their love for each other. A Happy Ending! Hooray!I don't know about you, but I'm a sucker for a story like this, every time. And this one is truly watchable....So, rent it and enjoy it! They sure make a beautiful couple!

More To Come.....

hi! i missed being able to comment on your blog so much! i changed over to the "new blogger" and it screwed up my commenting ability for nearly 2 weeks!

currently my favorite television program is Gilmore Girls, which i love so much i went and bought all 6 seasons on dvd and religiously tune in every tuesday night, and even watch the 5 pm out of order reruns on some cable channel whos number is higher than my ability to count.

mostly, the rest of tv appears to be garbage. if it werent for gilmore girls, one more fear factor advertisement would make me shut off the cable all togheter! (well that and Indy would be lost without his pbs sprout shows)

dear sweet lady over there in the hills,
I don't know how I found your blog, maybe through someone's link. It is so delightful and refreshing. Full of happiness and good news with honest comments on your experiences. you have a most beautiful spot in the world and I appreciate your photographs. I live in Queensland, Australia but have travelled a little, including LA. A blog that you would enjoy is a fellow LA dweller, Crazy Aunt Pearl, originally from Texas. {I think} Thank you for your time to do this for us.
Best wishes,

We also have a franchise of this program here but it is hosted by local celebrities. It's quite a big hit. It's aired at the time when the family is having dinner, so we don't get to watch it. We prefer watching reality shows and American Idol.

Trump is shameless isn't he? Basically he has made himself a celebrity by selling anything down to his mother for a shot on TV. Deal or No Deal is cute when I've watched it but the "over the top high strung" contestants get on my nerves. Why can't contestants just be fun and outgoing without being complete morons anymore? Everything is so staged for ratings....it would be nice to see a show that wasn't "set up". The main thing about that one though is the kids really like it. The older kids Caleb's age that is. They can follow it and he thinks the girls are hot!

Naomi, I sure do agree. I watched Deal or No Deal a few times when it came out. There is no "decision-making" about which silver case to choose - it is all guesswork. But the greed got to me, and I quit watching it. Trump is disgusting, and even more so since he took on Rosie and made such demeaning comments about her. He is a total has-been, as far as I'm concerned.

I like "The Apprentice" but I'm not a big fan of "Deal or No Deal".

BTW, we saw a local version of "Deathtrap" yesterday. The acting wasn't great but I enjoyed the story. Have you seen it? What did you think?

I was LOL at this post. Too funny! Trump is an ass. Howie is just plain weird. I get Deal or No Deal......I kind of like it, even! =) And yes, it's all about greed. I'll have to watch that show, thanks for filling us all in on that. And anyone named Simon has my vote. =)

Oh Naomi - I so agree - it is pathetic the junk that is on the TV - brainless drivel. I have seen that movie you mentioned on pay-per-view, I will have to watch it next weekend.

Not dead yet, indeed! :)

I wonder, exactly, how one decides to grow a comb-over. I'm not judging, mind you, I'd just really like to understand how it is that someone decides to do that. And how do they tell their barber?

Personally, I'd rather watch my fish swim around than watch either of those shows, or paint dry or grass grow. Heh. Well, the grass might not be too bad.

I see another adorable character peeking out from between the two human stars. Don't the dogs and cats just steal the show sometimes? What a pair of soulful eyes! (Psst... I added the "cats" part for Sweetie. Really cats are so regal they can't act very well when it comes to the "soulful" parts.)

Hi dear Naomi, Well I have to agree with you, Trump is a moron! I can't stand to even hear his voice! UGH! But I do like Deal or No Deal, now it is all about greed, I agree, but it is a cute show. Doesn't take much brain power to pick numbered cases! lol

Have a wonderful week my friend!

does that say it all?

Deal or no deal is, i think, also a brit innovation........not one to be proud of I am afraid to say.

ugh - I'm SO with you on the Greed TV thing.......

Terrestrial TV in the UK is filled with programmes based on greed, vengeance, revenge and bigotry - and that's just the 'Reality TV'

Talk about basest instincts...

I go to other channels to find drama, documentary and humour.

Reality TV and gameshows SUCK!!

That's what NBC should replace those shows with... Simon Baker painting a wall, and then watching the paint dry. ;)

I don't care for either of those shows. I'd rather watch water boil or anything than to see Donald Trump. Don't care for the Deal or No Deal either. Like you, I watched it a couple of minutes, but I just don't like shows like that. I like comedy and some of the romance movies, documentary, or a good animal show. All the shows have too many commercials. Gets on my last nerve and it's got a short fuse sometimes!! LOL

The movie sounds like a winner!

Naomi, you go right ahead and fire those two!!

We have 'Deal or no deal' here as well. They try adn make out on the show that there is some 'method' to choosing but it simply boils down to random guessing based on the person stood behind the box. It is all very sad. It has relaunched the career of Noel Edmonds over here it is that popular cna you believe! I really hate it though when the person acts like they have lost a load of money when a box is opened with a large amount 'in' it. It was never theirs to lose in teh first place! Youare so right it is just plain ugly greed. Abhorrent.

I don't like these shows either and I do understand how they work. I hate all the greed and/or backstabbing. I would rather see sacrifice and the good in people. As for the movie, I remember seeing a trailer for it awhile back and thinking I'd like to see it. Then it fell from my radar and I forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder. I'll put it on my Netflix list.

I don't get those shows, either~ in fact, I seem to be completely oblivious to them, probably on some deep, sub-conscious level. I just don't pay attention, though I used to enjoy Howie Mandel's standup comedy.
Life's too short to waste on stuff you don't like.
Thanks for the great movie recommendation!

Sounds like my kind of movie. I'm writing it down. I think Trump and No Deal are just a bunch of hype. Donald Trump insults Rosie now just so he can get more attention and the press love it.

You have said exactly what I've been thinking about both of these so-called shows. They represent the worst in humanity, in all its greedy, shallow ugliness.

I can't even bear to watch even a second of them. I feel my blood pressure rising if I so much as pass them on my way to another channel.

To think that they waste their opportunity to entertain and enlighten with this tripe. Feh.

Thanks for saying it like it is, Naomi.
