Same thing, sort of....
Another one, that is similar...
This is what I was photographing...
The one above was taken during the day, of course, when you can actually see the street where the night shots were taken....That street, La Brea Avenue, is soooo very busy that I was trying to show the huge amount of traffic, going both ways bumper to bumper, with all the lights. And I moved the camera by mistake and it looked so cool, I actually began to shake the camera a lot of different ways, on purpose....but had no idea till I saw the photographs what they would look like!
And, incidentally, a few of you did guess lights from traffic and you were indeed, correct. There were more shots, too...but I didn't want to over-do it...Well, I guess I may have anyway....
Thanks so much for guessing...
I still think it's art.
i thought maybe it was sparklers, would never have guessed what it really was
How cool. I would've never thought it was a city picture!
What an amazing view from your porch! So urban and busy!
I miss sometimes the urban life, traffic, agitation ....
That was more than interesting, Naomi! great shots!
What a tricky way to fool us Naomi! Shaking the camera and all!
Made a great post and a great guessing game though! That's pretty cool. I thought about the lights but I didn't think about them looking like that!
You have a great blog here! When I was a kid in high school about 1963, I took photography and the teacher taught us how to take a picture of Sputnik by laying the camera on the roof and leaving the lense open as it passed over. I thought it was so exciting at the time! Night photography can be fun.
See I knew it was the view from your deck LOL :)
wicked!! :) you know, some days i just love living here in LA. :D
It looked like a time lapsed photo to me, but I wouldn't have guessed it was a city at night.
I love those kind of shots, so I cheated.
those are totally great pictures! what a neat idea!
and thanks for your sweet, sweet comments about my family. makes me think I'm doing something right. Thank you.
wow - great photos
Ah, well, at least I knew they were lights! Interesting photos, Naomi.
That was neato!
Now, that I know the answer, I am going to go to your previous post and "guess" the correct answer.
It looks to me as though you're having way, wayyy too much fun!! Aren't the simple pleasures in life just wonderful? I think you're remarkable & I love your attitude towards life.
A quick hello to let you know my link wasn't correct! it was my own fault, get the blog olympics here . Sorry about that. The "presence" link requires a verification code (hate those!) ... good luck! you are terrific!
greetings from michele.
the neat thing about this is if you were to print them on a high quality photo paper and frame them, you could probably make a pile selling these photos as LA Art!
Naomi, I'd be glad to sign your map. Where is it??
Very clever. I liked it.
Michele sends me today.
La Brea is one of my favorite streets....in LA
It might not show what you intended but it's still artful.
Sorry I seemed to skip you in the comments at michele's. You know how it can be when we're all moving so fast over there!
Hi, Naomi, we posted at Michele's at the same time again! I think it's catching, like the flu!
You said you sent me an email, but I haven't gotten it. Try again?
Those are SO cool! Thanks for sharing them! Here via Michele's today.
VERY cool! here from michele's... is this a regular post? i like it!
Sometimes, the best pictures result from supposed "mistakes" in taking them. I don't know how many pictures I've taken since I first picked up a camera. Probably hundreds of thousands. But some of the most surprising results came from moments where I technically blew it.
Photography is magic to my soul, and I love seeing how others capture the moments that matter to them. Yours are so, so effusive. Please don't stop sharing them.
I surf the web looking for blogs like this one.
