First off...you never have to apologise, Naomi.
We value your posts and love reading them when you've the time to share them with us.
I'm sure I speak, not only for myself, but also for the rest of your loyal readers...we're not going anywhere! We're stuck like glue! We're like those relatives or unwanted, uninvited visitors you can't get rid of! :)
No, seeing we're here and here to stay... where's that slice of cake?
You certainly have a lovely array of photos from your birthday celebration. What a great day you had, surrounded by wonderful friends who care.
Love your post, Naomi...you take good care of yourself. Hugs. :)
I'll always hang in Naomi -- if you choose to visit my spot you'll see that I have been more lax than you and I have no excuse other than LAZY...... love to visit with you and so happy your special day was as spectacular as usual. Wishing you more of the same
Love, love, love seeing your birthday celebration posts! You are truly blessed to be surrounded by so many people who love you. It is a true testament to how you treat people that so many come back year after year to celebrate with you. Did I miss your awards post, or has that not happened yet? I'm still feeling my brain is jumbled from the move. I don't know when I'll feel settled. Take care of yourself Naomi, I love reading your posts!
I agree with Lee. I am always just delighted when you do post. The infrequency makes them all the more special to us.
Love your Hippo. Glad you explained for I was all set to ask.
That cake was a bit of art work and too pretty to eat but I see you did. It was nice seeing so many familiar faces at your party. You do draw a crowd of dear friends.
Looking forward to "more to come" whenever you are ready. I'll be here.
That Sweet Lady Jane cake sounds so good! I like the way it was decorated too – fun colors, on the psychedelic style. Your photos show your party very well – we felt we were at your party celebrating with you. You have such great friends. Your happy hippo does look like a sweet pal – just looking at him and stress is gone. Thanks for sharing your party with us and for taking the time to come and visit – your visits on our blogs are always a treat.
Don't be sorry! Take care of you and we will love to catch up when we hear from you. I love the cake, and the hippo, and the bears to take! How delightful.
Hi Naomi! Your birthday is quite an event and rightfully so! A woman like you deserves the best :) The photo of the chocolate cake makes me hungry. I can't say no to a deliciously dark chocolate cake especially if it's moist since most of the chocolate cakes I've tasted so far in cafes or restos here tend to be dry.
I see that you have a fabulous kitchen and the hippo ornament looks absolutely adorable. I'm glad to see that you're having a blast. Take care always Naomi and a lots of hug from us here in Bergen :)
Oh, this makes me so happy! So glad to see these posts --I have always loved the birthday postings the most!
What a fabulous celebration, and thank you so much for sharing your friends with us.
Glad to hear you were actively watching things for the Emmy's. Perhaps you'll have time to tell us your favorites!
So sorry your health issues are still holding you back! I'll raise a glass: To Naomi's health! Best, Kanani
I'm pining for piece of that gorgeous cake.
Just to look at it raises my spirits.
As usual it looks a delightful gathering of old friends and how lovely to have those two girls Karen and Katy whos weddings you officiated at. You must be very special to them - as you are to so many of us.
My dear Naomi, love all pictures of your lovely and Special Birthday!
The dark chocolate cake looks very delicious! And it decoration is really gorgeous!
Love seeing the photos of the dining room with all your dear friends.
The flowers are beautiful too.
I always love seeing your house, with just a beautiful decoration and all sorts of treasures!
I remember well your Hippo, and I agree with you, look like he is smiling in this picture!
Great photos taken by your friends Dianne, Katy and Glenn!
Bravo to Will and his fabulous crew too!
Love these cute soft bears. You are so sweet, Naomi!
I am glad to see you had a lovely and special Birthday!
I wish I could to be there with you and your friends!
Many (((HUGS))) and much LOVE!
Such a nice celebration! I'm so glad you posted more pictures. It's clear your friends love you so much. Those are great gifts - especially the chocolate!
Hope you are well today - I think it's exciting that you get to vote on Emmy nominations.
I love seeing the team of people in your kitchen that make your celebration even more special. The cake looks amazing. It's quite a different style of decoration and very bright and colourful.
The first thing I saw in that photo was the happy hippo! He looks really unusual. So how did you get that back to the States from the UK?!
I'm glad you received some presents even if you didn't ask for them, and they know you well to get you chocolate!
That little basket of cuddly animals is a lovely idea, so did everyone take one home with them afterwards? It must feel a little lonely once everyone goes home. I'm glad you all had such a wonderful time!
So glad to read part III of your birthday. First off i love all the photos of your friends and you - just wonderful friends u have. And second - I love the way you have hung all your paintings and photos - I would never think to hang them that way and now I must figure out if it would work in this cabin of mine in the mountains. Your house is so beautiful and thanks for sharing photos of it. What a great idea - the little bears - for a keepsake.
Stay well Naomi- thanks for sharing more of your birthday.
Hi Naomi: I love that hippo! It looks like he is carved in stone, if so, he must weigh a ton. You must have had him shipped home from London, he would never pass the airline's luggage weight restrictions in your suitcase!
As always, the cake (I am dribbling with anticipation!) and the flowers are superb, and how wonderful to be surrounded by dear friends. You are a lucky girl to be loved by so many!
Congratulations to the hard working kitchen crew, for making your birthday party so special.
The handsome gentleman wearing a red shirt also has stunning tartan trousers to match his red socks.... lovely!
HI its been along time. Hope all is well. Happy belated birthday. I havent been around much lately. trying to get back but its hard for me lately. Beautiful b-day my friend.
Hi Naomi,
It's taken me a while to catch up with this post. Delightful to see more from your party. It deserves AT LEAST three episodes! And that is one splendid cake. I love the psychedelic pop-art type squiggly finish!
You certainly had a packed home for this party and it's great to see the party going and also a glimpse into the kitchen!
As for the Londoner Hippo - a cheeky chappy. I expect you'd still recognise the area around the Old Vic, and I wonder if the hippo comes from along The Cut or Lower Marsh? They both have some interesting shops.
As for the Emmys...I'll be interested to see your reaction after tonight's show. I suppose the Game of Thrones and Mad Men are a couple of safe bets, but I wonder about Downton Abbey? Just for sport, I'll also go for an outsider with Maggie Gyllenhaal in The Honourable Woman...
Best wishes!
Any of that cake left, Naomi! I might grab another slice if there is! :)
I hope you're doing well....take care. :)
Now that is one snazzy cake! Everyone looks so relaxed and fun filled. We're watching Mad Men now, finally. The cheating is pathological but I like how they portray the shadow, people's gifts and flaws. I love the historical setting.
Hi Naomi -
Just popping by to say hello. I have your blog listed in my "Blogs I Love" blogroll, but it doesn't update when you post something new, but I check in with your blog every few days to make sure I'm not missing anything.
Hope you are feeling well today!
Lynn
Happy belated birthday! Glad to see you are still with us, surrounded by friends and good wishes. Blessings
certainly you know you have the best stove/oven.
that range looks like a "flair" but i can't be sure. i think hotpoint also made a version. we lived in a rental years ago that had a flair....adored it!!
have you ever heard of the group automaticwasher.org?
this is a group of insane people(they are the poor dears) who adore old appliances & flairs certainly come up. they could be of help if you ever have any problems....i know parts are tough to find.
i hope it never stops working! here's a link you may (or may not) get a kick out of....you've got something worthy of "the roadshow" in your kitchen!

Better late than never, Naomi, and you don't need to apologize. I saw Lee at the Miss America pageant - pretty and regal as ever! Lovely flowers, wonderful cake and nice people - makes for a good birthday. Food looks delicious too.
Hello Naomi, I so enjoyed reading your birthday post. The flowers and cake and and seeing everyone having a lovely time is so nice.
