Excellent menu, beautiful flowers, lovely friends and good surroundings. what more to want? To be there with you. I am glad you had another lovely party for your birthday, Naomi.
Come see my posts about the museum visit!
Pretty flowers! Looks like it was a lovely dinner. Do you play your baby grand? I love music, but never spent the time learning how to play anything.
Now that is how to entertain. What amazing food and how nice to have someone you have known a long time do it for you. Everyone looks so great---you gals are doing something, make that everything, right. Also good to see the men there. You have the perfect place for a party. Plenty of room and areas where groups can gather plus a delightful hostess.
Looking forward to part 3.
What a spread! I love the same picture you said you like ... because there is so much action/movement in it. Is part three dessert or maybe presents? Happy Birthday!
Such a beautiful party -- and the food? Everything, as usual, is grand and makes us, at least me, feel as if we are there. Thank you for inviting us Naomi. Looking forward to Part III.
I love the way your room has different areas for people to sit in, we have that in our lounge too and at Christmas it means small little groups of people chat together rather than them feeling they all need to talk in one big group which can be hard work.
I don't eat fish, well apart from smoked salmon but I know a great many people love it, my partner included. I think it's always an excellent sign that people are enjoying the food and the company if they go back for more! It means they want to eat and stay for longer!
So the plaster on your nose is to cover up your nose job or your piercing, right? Only joking!
I wish I had someone to cook and serve my food when we entertain, maybe I'd do it more often!
I LOVE tofu! HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Good to see you!
I enjoy your party pictures for a number of reasons.
1. You always look so happy surrounded with so many of your dearest friends.
2. Those flowers! Exquisite! Van is a floral genius.
3. The food. My mouth is watering just imagining the taste of Chilean sea bass.
4. The wonderful art decorating your walls. I'd love to just stand in the middle of your living room and gaze at all your treasures. Beautiful! Not forgetting of course, the marvellous view from your verandah!
I'm so glad you had a lovely party to celebrate your special day. Hugs from Canada!
I was sitting here playing around on my computer thinking it's almost time for me to have some lunch...now I'm starving after seeing all these pictures of your delicious birthday fare, Naomi! I knew I should've started preparing my lunch earlier! lol
Thanks for sharing with us more of your wonderful birthday. I'm sure I echo everyone's thoughts...we love "seeing" and "hearing" from you.
Take good care...hugs. :)
Naomi: I enjoy your "party pics" for a number of reasons:
1. Seeing you so happy to be surrounded by your good friends on your special day.
2. The flowers! Van is a genius!
3. The food! Just thinking about the Chilean sea bass and the marinated shrimp is making my mouth water.
4: The wonderful art that covers your walls. I could stand in the middle of your sitting room and just gaze at your treasures.... beautiful. And not forgetting the panoramic view over LA from your terrace. Marvellous!
i really enjoyed your part 2 post - loved all the pics and i LOVE your house and the art work on the walls and the views outside. what a beautiful place. looks like you had such a good time with good friends. Looking forward to part 3. now that i know i don't get updates on my sidebar i'll just keep checking in.
Obviously, you had a happy birthday as I would wish for you. The foods look and sound delicious -- accentuated by the view behind you overlooking L.A. Keep enjoying your friends -- have many more years with them.
What a lovely party! I feel as if we know some of your friends now - it's so nice that you have remained so close.
Love those flowers and the food! Oh my - the food is gorgeous and looks delicious.
Looking forward to more pics!
Happy birthday once again! What a gorgeous bunch of flowers.
My dear Naomi, I really LOVE your Birthday Party 2!!
What a gorgeous flowers and what a delicious food and beautiful decoration!
So great to have so much dear friends with you in this special day!
I wish I could to be there with you all!
Thanks for sharing all these wonderful photos!
Lots of hugs and much Love!
You do have the best birthday parties! Your friends are so special, the food is super yummy, the décor is elegant and comfortable and the atmosphere is terrific. You looked very nice and ever so youthful - not showing your age at all. I did look at your past posts as I had not been on the computer for a while. While in Alameda I did not have computer access and since coming home my main computer has been erratic. Also I wanted to mention that I have never seen the large flat plates as you showed on your post – they really look very attractive and convenient for a buffet style meal, are they made in the US?
There are ads all over your blog for iTunes gift cards. Are they supposed to be there?
Oh the menu sounds divine. I am getting hungry just reading about it. What a great evening it must have been. The view was clear wasn't it and it looks to be perfect weather. Your home looks like a wonderful place to entertain. And as you say there are many places to sit so different conversations can be had between guests. I have to say that in all your parties everyone always looks so happy and they are always having fun!! Do you play the piano much Naomi? It looks lovely and I so love white pianos. Anyway, I look forward to part 3 when you are ready. I shall be back. And I said it on the last post but you are looking great my friend. Lots of love Lilly
It is the perfect setting for a party. so much interesting art to look at - never mind the fantastic view and the flowers are always perfection - a most lovely party to be invited to.
Than there is the food- I'm drooling:)
And so many interesting people to talk to.
Naomi I think you are the hostess with the mostest:)
What a wonderful party! I love tofu and it's quite flexible if you know how to prepare it :) I just noticed your balcony now after all these years and gosh you got a fabulous view there!
Btw, I can see the ads and if you want I can delete them and just replaced them with text. That way we don't need to change your theme :)
You are looking wonderful! The food looks healthy and delicious although I'm not a fan of tofu. You say it's tasty and I believe you! I believe the tofu at YOUR party was tasty. You really know how to celebrate life and your home is a perfect place to do it. I love your white baby grand and all the artwork on your walls, the fun friends, food, view from the balcony. These are all great shots! Wish I could've been there to help you celebrate! Much love and hugs to you, my friend! xo
nothing like being way late to comment! As I looked at this group of photo's, besides loving seeing your friends gather around you, I also saw so much of your life. The piano for your music, Paintings for your art and love of art... you have had such a creative life. Multi-talented and loved by many. I am sad for your illness but happy for your life, and happy that I have gotten to know you!
Oh, Naomi, I love your beautiful apartment. The paintings, the layout, the light, the furniture. And it's all the more lovely because it is filled with friends and love. What a grand celebration! Many belated happy birthday greetings.
I am catching up on posts and see there is at least one more I must read. I've not been online as much as I would have liked this summer so there is much to discover with my blog friends!
I hope you are feeling as well as possible. I'm sure a beautiful day like this had to do volumes to boost those happy enzymes that I'm sure help our immunities!
G'day, Naomi...just popping to say "G'day!" I hope all is well...take care. :)
