I think this is my proudest moment to be an American. Given the last 8 years, I've often wondered if I would ever feel hopeful about our nation again.
I thought of elderly African-Americans & wondered about the magnitude of their feelings. I am, without a doubt, the happiest for them, their kids & grandkids... HOPE. That HOPE is undoubtedly contagious! :)
I watched his speech with my mom, Jim & my son. I was sitting between my mom & Jim; both had tears rolling down their faces. It was such a beautiful, historic moment.
I could go on forever, but this is your blog & I am rambling in your comment section! LOL
CONGRATULATIONS DEAR NAOMI!
CONGRATULATIONS BARACK OBAMA!
CONGRATULATIONS AMERICA!
I am so grateful that intelligence will now be operating in the White House and its cabinet. I feel bad for those who got us on this downward spiral and really could not, and still cannot see how bad these last 8 years have been for us and the world. I am ready to begin the long road toward fixing everything. It will be difficult, but I have faith that, "YES WE CAN!"
I AM ECSTATIC!!!
we stayed up till 1am watching the US election results last night (with the rest of the world), and I'm pretty happy about the way things turned out. The future has suddenly got a little brighter. It was very interesting being here in Florida on election day, specially as Florida was one of the pivotal states.
Well done America, finally you have someone in charge who has a bit of common sense.
But don't put the bulletproof screens away!
Aha....Am so releaved, and so proud of our country. Once again, the hope is abudent. And our futures are looking up already. Praise God. For our country and for sending Barack and his family, to lead our country. And we all need to direct our efforts to help pull our country back together. It wil not happen over night. And he said it most simply "YES WE CAN" pAT FROM NY.
I'm with you, Naomi! :)
SO HAPPY AND PROUD TO BE PART OF THIS COUNTRY!!!
Lovely photo of our new President-elect and his family. We can enjoy this time but our work is cut out for us to fulfill the promise. I feel us a renewed hope for the possibilities of the future.
I'm so very happy with the outcome of the election. President-Elect Obama does has his work cut out for him. There is a lot of work to do ahead. But what a wonderful place to start!
Today I woke up feeling so full of energy and renewed hope. What a great day to start my day! It's so exciting!
I never thought i'd see the day either Naomi! I'm once again proud to be an American!
Today is the first day of the rest of America's life!!
thank you for coming by yesterday! it was wonderful to share the moment with you :)
I am so happy!!! And, did you notice his little girl - she just clung to his hand...
Makes me proud! And, I believe happy days are coming our way...
I am thrilled!!!!
Congratulations to the new President elect!!
We spent a good portion of the day watching events unfold on Cnn and Fox, I was grateful we have those channels on our cable !
I, too, am once again proud to be an American!
It's a great day to be an American! I have been emotional and tearful all day, and I'm not sure when the chills will diminish. It is a beautiful time for the United States.
Congratulations to America. Not just for a barrier broken that can never again be erected. Congratulations on the wisdom in the concession speech of Senator John McCain.
Hopefully there will be changes for the better.
It was truly a great night for our country and for the world.
Still got goosebumps! And reading all the wonderful posts from people around the world, of all demographics, only inspires me more. I ask you: Have you ever seen an election like this one?
We were all fortunate enough to be able to partake of history in the making Tuesday night and prove once again what a great country America is! Bravo to all of us that made this vitally important event happen!

I am proud to have voted for him. The times, they are a changin'!
What a wonderful night it was!!!
It took my husband an hour to vote at 6:30AM (folks had waited since 5:45AM), and it took me an hour at 10AM. The energy was palpable. Our daughter was so excited to vote in her first Presidential election. She is a student in NYC and voted absentee. She said a friend had bought a bottle of champagne and a bottle of whiskey so she'd be prepared no matter what the outcome.
So great the shared the bubbly!
It truly was an historic night!
I agree with your prayer of God Bless America and our newly elected president.
I wish President Obama well, and I hope our nation prospers under his leadership.
It's wonderful news!
As a non-American I can honestly say I think it is also the best result globally too :)
I think I can say from an outsider looking in that America, you finally got it right!!!!! WOnderful, wonderful news.
I was so happy. SOOOO happy. But as one of the few in my tour who was for Obama I had to celebrate with foreignors...but that was okay. Because it seemed most across the world wanted Obama to win as much as we did!
I truly hope happy days are here again. :) So happy about Obama!
