I'm guessing either a tea towel or a tea cosy (one of those things you put on tea pots).... Maybe... [laughs]
The pattern reminds me of a giraffe. Maybe a large giraffe sculpture?
Why would they put ads on the sides of buildings like that, I just think it is so tacky.
I'm gonna go with a tea towel....

It looks like one of those plastic drawer liners. I bought some of that plastic stuff just yesterday to line the bottom of my crisper drawers in my frig. Just a guess.
It looks like the fabric that you do counted cross stitch on. (?)
Hmmm, very interesting....my guess is that it's some type of "fiber" but on what, I have no clue. Maybe a plaid bathrobe or tablecloth?

Is it a baby blanket, Naomi ?
The councilman may be correct about the ads being illegal. Now the interesting thing will be if the money wins out regardless - or if ethics and esthetics take over.
p.s. what's going on with the neighbor's house ???
ooh, a game....!
Me and ck are definitely on the same page.
um....a dishcloth :-)
But it looks like it is billowing - so I am a little bemused...
Good one, Naomi.
And yeah, I know what you mean. I met the Aginoths when Jnr was a baby and the girls were still just twinkles. I look at Jnr now and wonder where the years went.

Looks like it might be a place mat or a coaster.
Keep us posted about the GIANT HUMUNGOUS ENORMOUS EYESORE ads.
:-)
Naomi- my guess is a close up of paper towels (Bounty, etc) or a paper napkin. Am I close???
I'll guess a bedspread. Love your Hawk shots... they are majestic birds.
Paper towel?
Is it some kind of funky bubble wrap?
Or maybe egg matzoh...keeping in sync with upcoming Passover?
Naomi, I was going to say either dish or paper towel, but I've been scooped.
Cheers.
that looks like a dishcloth!
I think it's part of a coat worn by a small dog.
kidding.
an apron?
Well, since I showed up (fashionably) late for the game and a couple have come up with my guess (paper towel), I'll have to just sit tight and wait it out. Thanks for the Sunday night fun. Naomi!
As for the ads, keep us posted. I'd really like to know what happens since we have the same problem all over downtown Miami.
I say it is a old kitchen towel :D
Is it an apron?
I'm going to take a few more wacko -- but hopefully creative! -- guesses:
1. a real close-up of a bee's honeycomb
2. an aerial view of something...perhaps a sun shade or patio table umbrella
3. a close-up of something related to Sweetie: a "blankie", food, a toy?
4. a shower curtain with its liner
5. a glass shower door, perhaps with a towel seen from the other side
6. a glass brick wall/room divider with something on the other side
7. a real close-up of window treatments, ie. sheers and a fabric drapery behind it
Gee, I have no idea on what that is! I think everything I was thinking of has been taken.
I was going to say a paper towel but so did many others before me :)
a section of one of those @$#@%$&^ ads?
It's all been said but I think you are more creative than that. I know there is a bend in it but I'm going for a long distance shot from your balcony - of what - goodness knows. You tease Naomi!
I'm going to go with:
1: cactus
2: pottery
3: some sort of fencing around that house under construction
I'm not good at guessing things like that lol.. but I'm sure someone will get it right!
I hope those ads go away!! They are horrible! I realize someone thinks they are artistic and fantastic..but I'm not one of them!
I have no idea...maybe a mat of some sort. A placemat, a floormat for the shower. Or for the sink in the kitchen...
Most of my guesses have been guessed already. It looks like some type of material but it could be a paper towel, or ?????
I can only guess that it's a throw pillow for the couch.
I changed my mind. It's a close-up photo of part of a lady's undies. Macro.
I'm thinking it might be a dishtowel..
I still think it is some form of rubber or plastic drawer liner but it could be some searsucker fabric...
I am guessing that this pattern looks like the "hooks" of your Fish Hook Cactus! LOL!
I enlarged that photo and I guess maybe it is the cactus! LOL!
Interesting to look at a piece of something, out of its place and wonder. I think what I would guess has been guessed-- paper towel design. I will be interested in seeing what it is.
It's amazing how we desecrate our landscape with no respect for beauty and all about supposed economics.
That's a toughie. It looks like cloth or even plastic. But it also looks fibrus, like plant material. I'm stumped!

I didn't read the guesses before me, but I'm guessing a paper towel or napkin.
I'm not a big fan of those giant ads either. I hope they do find them illegal.
It is a close up of a shell... can't think of the name of it right now...if I can think of it I will tell you... hope I am right... surprises are nice...
Is it a lady's swim cap? A brick?
Yes, it is a shell! The comment before me got it first. I don't know the name of it either.
No clue, for me it looks like sometingh Wowen. May be it is, but not wowen as most think of it.
btw. I've seen the revealed result. I was far away, or? Wowen by Nature itself?
btw: Just started my new assignment job. It takes most of my tiny brain capacity for the time beeing. So excuse me for some while not to be a polite commenter - but I read your blog. Besides it's just before we are moving out to our Summer Home. Takes a lot of planning.
And I watched a French movie on TV this evening, with the one and only Gerard Depardieu: Boudu. I love that white/black sense of humour in a movie. Very different from Hollywood. Surprises. Not a recipe that you know the end of - even if happy.
This weekend will be very busy, maybe I can connect to the internet. I do not know yet
hugs

Missed the news on the bldg. ad as have been busy so not watching TV. Sure hope the ads are kept off the sides of those bldgs and there is legal clout to make it happen.
