more happy flowers

This Orchid was from Christmas, 2005. Betty's dear cousin Carol Smith brought it to me on Christmas Day....Actually there were three Orchid Plants in a Beautiful Big Basket....I took this picture at the beginning of February, 2006.... You can only see two of the Orchid Plants in this photograph....but each of them had multiple blossoms and this arrangement was absolutely stunning! There is a huge Orchid Nursery where Carol got this fabulous basket....it's above Santa Barbara....and when ever she drives down here to Los Angeles from San Jose, she stops there and finds these gorgeous speciman's.....

And here below, is another lush group of flowers taken from an arrangement that someone else sent me.... These came from two gentleman who have been coming to the S.T.A.G.E. Event for 20 years....I always take care of their tickets for them....They come up to Los Angeles from San Diego just for this Event and these flowers were their way of thanking me for looking out for them over these many years....

And here below, another lovely Rose....I feel like I can almost smell this flower as I look at it.... Do click on all these pictures because they look so much better bigger....at least I think they do. The pink in this rose is so rich and the color has a such depth that feels utterly edible. Yum, indeed!

And below is a glorious group of gorgeous roses...this too is so rich in every respect that it is wonderfully satisfying to look at in some unexplainable way.... You know what I mean? Oh yum yum yum! I think if I did not have a Cactus Garden, I would have a Rose Garden....but, truly, there is not a good place here on my property where a Rose Garden could survive....Well, I just hope people keep sending me flowers that have an abundance of all kinds of roses in every color imagineable....!

On on that happy note...here is one more delightfully beautiful Rose surrounded by other beautiful colorful flowers....

And below, one more very pretty little Orchid. A gift to me on my Birthday at the end of June from a very dear dear man.... This is a little Orchid....smaller than any of the others that I have had or still have....Talk about your lucious colors...my my my....just stunning and perfect in every way...! Once again, nature takes my breath away....

More To Come.....

Beautiful flower pictures. I could almost feel the velvet of the petals and smell the sweet fragrance from the roses. Something very welcome with my own roses a long way from blooming again

Oh, the pink rose is absolutely breathtaking! I attended a meeting in Santa Barbara twenty years ago and went to a famous orchid nursery near there. It was fabulous. I can keep African violets alive but usually kill the orchids.

Nice plants! Orchids shudder when I walk by - as they should. I've been guilty of killing a few in my time (not intentionally of course)

As I've said before you really do take wonderful pictures and I love the one of the white orchid. I have the exact same one in my bathroom. I also have one that has just re-flowered adn it has such rich purple mini blooms. I do hope they last until I get back from NY!

I'll take loads of pics and share them when I get back. Meanwhile I hope you are well. :-)

I'm pretty sure I'm smelling that pink rose, too, Naomi. Stunning images as always.

I thought of you this week as I circled a large-ish table in the lobby of my hotel and thought about how I wanted to capture the orchids in the big glass vases in the middle. I thought you'd find it funny that I was making a public spectacle of myself :)

Popped by from Michele's tonight. I'll be back again soon.

I love those last two rose photos - pink doesn't do much for me but shades of apricot, peach, coral (whatever you like to call them) do it for me every time. Michele sent me.

one of the wonderful things about visiting you is that you share so much beauty. today its natural floral beauty, yesterday you showed the beauty of your spirit, sometimes we see the beauty of your home... and george. It is always a pleasure to visit your blog and "spend time in your company"... no wonder so many folks give you beautiful flowers.

Loverly flowers!

I took some time and read several of your recent posts.
The Primal Scream stuff sure is interesting. I could use some of that therapy about now. :)

We are all set to move in to our house over the Thanksgiving weekend. My college semester ends on Dec. 11th. After I get settled, I will begin posting and blogging regularly again.

Congrats on having not smoked for so many years! That is a glorious accomplishment.

Happy one year blogiversary! I'm so glad you are a blogger and share so many interesting things with your blog buddies. We enjoy your posts so much, and I know you enjoy our visits. :-)

I have great news! My brother will be performing along with The Bonner Singers at the White House on Dec. 20th. He is their pianist and will be tickling the White House ivory with delight!! I hope C-SPAN carries it, so I can record the performance.

I hope this note finds you doing well. I wish you a warm and calorie-filled Thanksgiving. Enjoy it to the fullest. Eat with abandon and feel no guilt. That is what I plan to do. The guilt will come later when I try to fasten my skin tight jeans. :)

That orchid plant is so beautiful. I love those flowers.
You are so right about the pink orchid, just by looking at it, it's as though you can smell it.
The peach & white roses have to be my favorite. The petals on the peach ones are so beautiful, especially the outer petal.
Naomi, you take the most beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing them with us.
