A Field Of Rape...
I thank everyone for visiting yesterday and leaving such touching and heartfelt comments....it meant a great deal to me; more than I can say. And I thank Michele with all my heart, too, for sending so many of you here who might not have dropped by, and to all those 'regulars' that come by just because they feel like it, I thank you too, with all my heart, for your very loyal and constant support....blogger friends, all!
It certainly sounds & looks as though you had a fantastic time here.
That's not a particulary old building though - it doesn't really count as old in the Uk unless its at least 15th century:-)
Here from michele's today
More great pictures. That garden is beautiful, I'll have to visit it myself next time I'm in London :)
I love all the old photos, and I surely do hope that I get to see all that in person someday, especially the garden. Thanks for sharing these lovely memories with us.
Very fun. London has a really great feel to the city, from what I remember during a whirlwind press tour I wen ton with my CEO a few years back. Looks like you had a fabulous time.
Michele sent me...again.
Oh the pipers must have been just wonderful. :) I didn't get to eat at Harrod's, but it is truly shopping mecca...lol! There is definitely something special about Merry Ole England. :)
Such lovely photos.
Naomi, I love all the pictures, especially the one of you in bed with the beautiful flowers and those lovely cozy teddy bears to keep you company!!
Ray looks like such a friendly fellow! I love the gardens and...well, just everything! You are certainly painting a lovely picture for us through your blog! Many thanks for sharing!!
We can find beauty and meaning in very diverse places, and for very diverse reasons. Sometimes it takes us longer to get to where we need to be.
But like art or pornography, we know it when it see it. You can tell from this saga of yours that you found some of those things on this trip.
Kudos.
Hi OOL,
It was fun to follow your travels thanks for sharing.
btw I had to start a new blog http://aginoth.blogspot.com is the new address
I love pipers! What a kick it must have been to have them play for you!!
The pictures are great! The garden is absolutely beautiful! Heaven on earth!
I must insist you go on with your tales..LOL I'm enjoying them so much!! ;)
I just read your AIDS post. Most excellent. Thanks for doing it.
I do love all the photos you post of England.
Here from Michele's today!
...Thanks for sharing your Cotswold adventures! Sounds like you had an incredible time...
Good evening, OOLOTH! Michele sent me back tonight; since I was here this a.m. I have been decorating a house for Christmas - it's garland here, there and everywhere! I am so tired.
hey - sounds like the holiday of a lifetime, OOL :-) Lovely photos!
So - when are you coming back? The South West is nice [wink]
Here from Michele's - this time...

I'm loving the vignettes of your trip to England. Makes me so homesick.
Oh, and although I didn't stop by yesterday, I wanted to say that your Aids day post was very moving, and brought back the memories of seeing the whole quilt in DC. It was so intense.
Michele sent me again.
What lovely countryside and such a darling park.
The quilt is just mind-boggling and indeed sobering, especially in the photo on the mall. My sympathies on your losses.
What wonderful photos! Looks like a lovely time.
Those garden pictures are gorgeous. Some day I'm going to make a trip across the pond.
~sigh~

What a lovely time. Harrod's...neat!
I have throughly enjoyed taking this trip with you. Sigh I was trying so hard to be in London this week for the premiere of Narnia but it was not to be :)
Excellent photos! Looks like everyone is having a great time. Michele sent me today :)
what beautiful architecture and gardens!

Ahhh, I'm so envious of you! I have never been to Europe and haven't traveled much in general. I'm now saddled at home with two little kids and it'll be awhile before I get to go somewhere that magnificent. Thanks for letting my eyes dream a little through your pictures!
Michele sent me, but I've been here before!
I love how you have pictures to really show what a lovely time you must have had.
Michele sent me.
Hi OOL, back again cos Michele sent me.
As this is finally the end of your Cotswold saga, and everyone loved reading about it so much, maybe it's time to start planning another trip as blogfodder;-)
Morning!
Michele sent me this time..... :-)
Has anyone mentioned yet that most people hate rape, no matter how nice it looks? Some don't like the smell and it's murder on the hayfever!
Looks can be *so* deceptive :-)

A very interesting report and you certainly got about a bit! As a Brit near London and with the Cotswolds as a fairly near journey, its great to see these through eyes of others.
I've also visited LA and Hollywood (loved it), so maybe I should try a reciprocal project at some time!
And today, Michele sent me!

Great travel images. It looks like a relaxing time away.
Back again from Micheles. You really should have a new post ready for me by now, you're slacking;-)
I like rape - pretty, environmentally friendly, two harvests per annum and doesn't give ME hay fever:-)
Michele sent me over to visit you again, OldOldLady of the Hills.
It's interesting what Mrs A says at the top of the comment list. There's some old Dutch buildings in NY state that date back to the 1600s and that seems so amazingly old but when watching the Tour de France they routinely show buildings from the 1100s and 1200s. It's a different world in terms of architecture there.
Thanks for sharing your journey to England with us, OOL.
Love seeing those pictures (and one of you too!!!!)
I've been trying to leave a comment on the meme post, but stupid blogger won't let me! It keeps saying that I'm not putting the verification word in right, but I am...
:(
Here by way of michele today!
Ahh great post there! I remember visitng Regents Garden too, 9 years ago now, and the rose garden was simply beautiful. I am fortunate enough to have my sister live in London and I can stay whenever I like. Pity I live on the opposite side of the world to her, otherwise I'd be visitng every other year!!!
