MY FIRST MEME

Now that I know what 'meme' means, sort of....courtesy of plumkrazee and I thank you with all my heart, for that...I saw this today on mar's blog and I thought I'd try it, too....and I thank you mar, very much, for the idea....

It involves using Google Images and 8 questions....So, here they are!

NAME OF THE TOWN YOU WERE BORN IN:
GREAT NECK

This is Great Neck High School, (now called GNHS North...but back in the early days, we only had this one High School)
and this is it. My siblings and I ALL went to this school.....

THE NAME OF THE TOWN YOU LIVE IN NOW:
HOLLYWOOD

I thought this image was really nice...but I'm going to post another one, too

A postcard from 1949...! I love the history of places, don't you?

YOUR NAME:
Heart Painting

"Breakthrough" 72 X 80, Acrylic On Canvas, 1987

This painting is 6 feet by 7 feet, and has been included in 4 one-person Art Shows .
And, in a very deep way, this is a picture of me....

YOUR GRANMOTHER'S NAME:
Rose Berman

There was no photo of her, but this Rose, is almost as beautiful as she was....You can see her picture in a blog from a few days ago, 'A Few Family Photo's'....

YOUR FAVORITE FOOD:
Chocolate

Is there any other food??? (OH MY LORD!!!! does this ever look good enough to shovel right in my mouth!!!! Yum Yum!)

YOUR FAVORITE DRINK:
Water

This really is my favirite drink, and it is soooo very good for you, too!

YOUR FAVORITE SONG:
"Move On"

There are so many songs that I adore....but if I had to pick one song that means a great deal to me, it would be "Move On" from 'Sunday In The Park With Geaorge', by Stephen Sondheim.....As an 'artist', it is inspiring to me, and I'll just quote a tiny bit of it here....

Anything you do...
Let it come from you...
Then it will be new.....

Give Us More To See....

And Last, but not least....

YOUR FAVORITE SMELL:
One Picture Is Worth 1000 Words....

There is nothing like the mouth watering smell of warm--just out of the oven--Chocolate Soufle!!!! My mouth IS watering, just thinking and writing about it, right now!!!

That was a lot of fun!!!!

Just a quick addition: About World AIDS Day...I am posting this the only way I've learned, so far....and I will try to put this on every day through December 1st. We must not forget all those in need. Why don't you post this, too! (Click on the logo to find out how).

I am sitting here, full as a tick with food from yesterday and today - and you are making me hungry with your chocolate and souffles. STOP it! I weigh too much already.

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

I'm with Kenju: my tummy may be full, but your entry has made me hungry again as well.

Popped over from Michele's to see what's up. Apparently, lots.

Well, here I am again, courtesy of Michele.

My husband's parents lived in Bayside - not too far from Great Neck is it?

I enjoyed that! Loved the pictures too. I have never made a souffle before. I don't know why really. I guess because I don't have one of those bowls you bake them in.

I also am stuffed from yesterday and today (leftovers I brought home with me), so your post did not make me hungry! That is a good thing! Otherwise it would have!

Hub had an aunt and uncle in Douglaston, whom we used to visit. There was a diner there (I can't remember the name) that we used to go to for breakfast. His parents are buried in Port Washington, and one they took me to the Washington Arms restaurant - and I had frog legs. Is it still there?

Water is my favorite drink too. My grandmother's name was Violet, and yours was Rose. We were blessed with flowers for grandmas. I like the images you chose. I will do this meme one of these days. It is a good one.
We are still at my in-laws and will make the trip home on Sunday.
Enjoy your weekend.

I love show tunes as well. My brother was in the traveling company of Phantom of the Opera for eight years so we were able to go several times.
And your cat is absolutely gorgeous.

Michele sent me to see you, OOL of the Hills.

I don't think I'll be following you in this meme, OOL. Too many pictures to upload!

I was struck by the Great Neck one. My two closest friends in college were from Great Neck and Horseheads. I was always struck by the fact they were both from "anatomical" towns. Where I grew up everything was lake-something or other. Lake Placid, Tupper Lake, Loon Lake, Blue Mountain Lake, Lake George, Saranac Lake, et cetera.

Glad you liked my Christmas post - it's something I feel quite strongly about. Cynicism kills wonder.

As an artist and someone who is drawn to heart images, I'm moved by your painting. If you have another one woman show exhibiting it, please let me know. I'm intrigued by others' work, especially when it's such a personal piece as this "Breakthrough" that is/was you. P.S. I also salivated over the chocolate but in a far different manner. ;)

had this to say:

Naomi, I love chocolate, too. Started with Milk Chocolate, but once I discovered Dark Chocolate, I never looked back.

I will stare at Heart Painting for a few days. What do I see? Well, first, I really like it. A heart composed of puzzle pieces. Is each piece someone or something you love? Are the blue pieces someone or things that bruised your heart?
Is the hole or unfinished piece people or things you have yet to meet or experience?

I like it. I like it a lot
