It was a delightful time spent with you, Naomi, and great to meet you in person.
As we've both said, the time just flew by!
I've been fortunate to have a couple of blog-meetups and they've been uniformly a treat. I'm glad you had such a wonderful time.
Cheers.
How lovely to meet other bloggers, and you know how passionate I am on that subject!! I'm glad you had such a nice visit, Naomi, and I hope to be doing that myself someday (although it is looking less likely that I will do any travel.)
What a delightful surprise Naomi. Meeting a blog buddy is more like a reunion as you do know a lot about each other all ready.
If that rose was 9 days old, it must have been spectacular fresh. It still is awesome.
The Internet really closes all the gaps between countries and we become neighbors as the miles melt away. So glad you had such a great visit and welcome Rashbres to the US. Enjoy your stay.
Dear Naomi,
I am glad you had a nice time with the Rashbre friends! Sounds it was a delightful day.
I would love to meet you in person someday... You know that I dream about this meeting...
Love all photos and the rose is gorgeous!
How wonderful for both you and the rashbres to meet in person! And you have photos to commemmorate the grand occasion. I have only met one blogger and his wife when they had a stopover at Toronto for 2 nights on their way to Australia. We met at one on the hotels close to the airport and had a marvellous time having breakfast and coffee and swapping stories. You are right, it seems like meeting old friends when you have been reading each other's bogs for a long time.
One of these days I'll be on your side of the continent and give you a call, Naomi!!!
I love meeting blogging friends who I refer to as "friends I haven't met -- yet!" Unfortunately not many brave the 'wilds' of Ohio. You, dear lady, are one of those who I really would love to meet!!!!
I'm so glad you had a good visit!!!!
What a great visit!
I love meeting bloggy peeps! It's neat to sit down and talk to someone "in the flesh". It really as if you've known each other a long time already.
what a wonderful treat for all of you - while i've not yet met in person my blogging friends i do have those with whom i communicate [by phone, mail, email, etc] as if we had known each other in the first person sense - there are those with whom we just have that visceral connection - and geography really has nothing at all to do with friendship, does it! but how lovely your visit, i can tell - and your guests thoughtful bouquet of roses is exquisitely beautiful! thanks so much for sharing all your shenanigans, lady! ;)
oh, by the way, my birthday was thursday and i've saved you a piece of the delicious 4-layer chocolate/dark chocolate frosting cake!
Fine thing that I have to come to California to put a face to my friend Rashbre. I'm so glad you met up and I'm sure the three of you had a ball. The world is getting smaller all the time:)
How fantastic! I'm glad the bloggers meet up went so well! I'd love to meet you too, but am so camera shy!
Meeting 5 blogger friends from across the U.S. was an experience I'll never forget. People think bloggers and readers are just made up people, but from my experience they are real and wonderful. I'm so happy for the three of you! If I am every able to walk again I am headed straight to Hollywood and a visit to Naomi. Just the thought pushes me onward!! (If you don't want me I'll just take photos of the tile house!! :)
I am glad you got to meet "new" computer friends! I have met some (one just a few months ago) and all have lived up to and surpassed and expectations!
It' always fun to meet new friends that we have never met before..
(I can't remember exactly what I wrote! lol)
Meeting you AND Santa Barbara?! That defines a guaranteed GOOD vacation.
I met a large number of my on-line writing buddies back before blogging, before the Internet, back when we were still telnetting. I'd love to meet some of my blogging buddies. I think I'll get to meet Trish of Menopausal Stoners when we go back to NYC in September. And some day Naomi, when I get back to CA, I hope to meet you too.
Hi Naomi! This post put a smile on my face. You look beautiful :)

Stan
greetings naomi! just wanted to let you know that one of my blogging friends [the daughter of a longtime blog friend] took one of my poems and did her own musical version as a belated birthday gift yesterday - today i posted her youtube song at my place -
and i've left a little response to your kind and supportive words which humble me so - oh, and the other thing i've meant to mention [and if i have already, please forgive the redundancy] is that i've another blog [the gypsy on words unspoken] that is my poetry over the past several years - that blog really began my writing again after many many years and began at the end of a relationship that could not be - one of those things - anyway, when i began that blog, it was designed just for words from the heart and i've kept it that specifically -
gypsywomanworld began more as a conglomeration of things i find beautiful and meaningful and has now more or less become my primary blog - and the posts for the past several months have all been my own poetry - mostly words from the heart, but including other subject matter, as well -
hope your day in the hills is as lovely as i imagine it to be every day there - california has such a special place in my heart - it's a cool rainy day here after such a long hot summertime -
have a great remainder of your day - and again, thanks so much!
It's wonderful to stop by your blog again and catch up on your previous posts. Your 80th birthday celebration looked like marvelous fun, and I was happy to see not only your friends there but also some family too! Of course, your friends ARE your family too, after all the years and memories you've shared together.
I especially loved the photos of your birthdays past, and the ones of you as a little bitty girl. You were cute then, and you are still cute as can be! Our bodies breakdown over time, but thankfully, we can keep our sharp wit and appreciation for beauty intact.
The Rashbres look like such a lovely couple, and I'm so glad they came to visit all the way from the UK!! I'm sure they were equally as delighted to see you as you were to see them. You are so right about blog friends. It's like you've known them forever. I still cherish my friendships with you, Rachel, Judy, Annie, Illeana, and others I've met through blogging.
The Tile House is incredible! I'm so glad you visited with George and took photos to share with us.
I had so much catching up to do, and I'm glad I did it. Your blog is always a joy to read. I guess it's because of its amazing, talented, beautiful author.... YOU!
Awww, I love when you meet fellow bloggers and then tell us about it. :) It really makes this blogging thing we do come to life, if that makes any sense. :)
That's fabulous. Nothing like meeting a person in the flesh is there? I consider all of my fellow bloggers who visit me, my friends, and talk about them like I have known them all my life and have even met them! I have met Bob-Kat and quite a few Australian 'friends'. You are on my list to meet first hand! How awesome would that be? lol
Ohhh, what fun!! I met our dear blogger friend in Barcelona, I am so happy you got together. Enjoyed the pictures very much!
Looks like you guys had a nice visit.
You're looking good, Naomi.
Hi Naomi,
What a lovely surprise for you and such a beautiful gift, were they nicely scented? Georgeous colour and so long lasting!
I have never had the fortune to meet up with any of my regular blogging friends, but it would certainly be good to do so one day.
You sound a little like me with your camera. I have no idea what mine really does. People post such great photos, I really must get to grips with the software, so that I can join in a bit more. Until then, I shall just keep copying my husbands photos!!!
Glad you had such a good time, you all look very happy, if a little camera shy!!
Take Care.
Yvonne
Hi Naomi,
Thanks for stopping by and leaving comment, as always it is good to hear from you, you always have something interesting to say.
When I first started following you, I never went back down your archive very far, which was obviously a big mistake, as I would have been able to see right away, what prolific and competent photographer you are.
There are just too many lovely pictures and posts to leave retrospective comments on them all, but suffice to say that they are all delightful, full of interesting observations and comments and of course, some fantastic photographs.
I check by your site most days, now that I have you on my blogroll, just to make sure that I haven't missed anything.
Keep doing what you do, it's great!!
Take Care,
Kind Regards,
Yvonne
That was lovely. I like self-timer for some shots and yours came out well. Fun to meet long distance friends for the first time.
Sounds like a beautiful visit. You all look like you're having a grand 'ol time...and no, your smile doesn't look pasted. I thought it was one of your best photos!
I love the way blogging brings good people together. Hope you get more visitors again soon. Who knows, maybe one day I'll be in your neighborhood and stop by for a visit and some piano playing!
Hugs to you, my dear friend! xo
I am so jealous!
When I saw on Rashbre's blog that he's visited you, I had to come over and see the pictures. How wonderful to meet somebody from so far away :)
That's really awesome! I'm a bit jealous and hopefully soon I can also meet you! (The most actual would be around 2013!)
What a nice visit!
Aww I am jealous. How I would love to meet up with you Naomi in person!! Great post and it is lovely to finally put faces to names. Plus after reading your blogs for years you would feel like you knew one another. Just a wonderful surprise. Loved it! My daughter is off to New York and La early next year. Who knows I might head over that way myself...
