A little interim post so you all won't think I just dropped off the face of the earth....my life has been very taken up with things regarding Betty's "Celebration"......I found some more wonderful pictures of special times with Betty.....Below, Christmas, 1996, in Daytona, Florida.....Her dear Granddaughter Maddy was not quite a year old yet......
I think this is such a sweet picture.....! So many lovely memories.....And here below, Maddy's beautiful Mom, Karen Culliver, with Betty on Opening Night of "Meet Me In St. Louis". Karen was in "Meet Me...", too, and that was when Karen met her future husband---Betty's son Garrett. This was November, 1989.
And here is another sweet memory, below. Another picture of Betty and me, in her dressing room before going to the Opening Night Party of "Meet Me...". Such a very special night.
My dear niece, Rebecca---my brother Gordon's middle daughter---was with me that night....A happy time for all. Rebecca died this past August....it has been a really tough year........
I love this next picture.....it is Betty with her boys, in her dressing room---in her robe and with her hair still pinned down, and with the wig she wore in the show, now off her head.....She is in her element, as they say......
Such a sweet picture! And, below, a beautiful rose that soothes my soul......

Note: Tomorrow is the anniversary of my mothers death. She would have turned 111 on January 12th....She was only 67 years old when she died......There are certain dates one never forgets---this is one of those dates. RIP dear 'Jen The Hen'.........

It's great that you have such happy photos of Betty - at all stages of her life. She certainly was a very rare person and I hope all of her friends and family will be able to feel the celebration of her life to help to mitigate the grief. I think that's what she would have wanted.

Betty's granddaughter has always been and remains such a truly beautiful girl.

What a joy to look back at those shining moments, and you've had so many of them.
