My Auntie always had Dachshund dogs. I think they are ok until they get overweight and then then have problems with their backs. I don't quite understand some of the features that are bred into cats and dogs that cause physical issues.
Ow, that hurts to look at. Get that doggie a roller skate.
Unless that's an oddly shaped and fortuitously placed tumor, it would seem it's a "he."
I'm normally a big dog person, having owned huskies and malamutes, but Dachshunds are my favorite small dog. It's the only breed I think I could get my wife to agree to.
Cheers.
I love dogs. They're better people than we are. It's been 10 years that I've been without Max and though I really want another dog, it just hasn't happened again. The finances have to be right, the yard has to be fenced, my schedule has to slow down to give me time to spend with a dog, and the list goes on. There's a whisper behind all the excuses though, I think it's saying, "I don't want another dog, I want Max back." I really believe the soul lives on and lives again, so much so, that as Max was being put to sleep, the last things I said to him were, "I love you Max. Come find me again." I really hope he does. He hasn't so far. He had such a special soul and just clicked with my personality. We were attached at the hip for 12 of his 13 1/2 years. Gosh I miss him still.
That dog looks like a plump hot dog.
I've heard you really have to watch the weight on that breed or they have painful back problems. He is a chunky monkey! My horse looks like that unfortunately!
goodness! He is riding low to the ground
they should put him in the cart but then he'd probably get fatter
these shots are a great catch lady :)
I don't know whether to laugh or feel sorry for him/her. Btw, I believe it's a HIM...notice the part that's closest to the ground. lol
If you really want to people/dog watch, come with me to Lincoln Road...and bring your camera. You will not be disappointed.
Have a wonderful weekend, my friend! Hope to chat with you again soon.
He'a a cutie!!!!!!
I suppose it would be bad form to ask him if he's pregnant?
It is a great picture and I also think the dog is a "he"... lol
Hahahaha! What a cute little guy! He reminds me of my Oliver. I swear, Ollies weenie just about drags the ground. I think I should tape it up or something.
Poor little dog!! He should be put on a diet; he will definitely have back trouble soon, if not now.
My goodness that is one low to the ground do.....and I'd worry about his heart. Hope those ladies take him on longer walks..it certainly can't hurt.

He is almost touching the ground!! I had to smile at the little guy, he is so cute!
It must have been chilly that day since the people have long sleeves and a hood on.
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend dear Naomi!
Love Dachshunds, but this poor dog is very fat...looks he is uncomfortable to walk... I think he must to make a diet.
Well, I really do not know how to comment when seeing a dog like this.
I hope the owners do love him/her.

Yes very cute and anymore food intake this poor dog will have to crawl LOL :D
