plumbing problems

I have a major plumbing problem.....The Pipe, going from my house to the City Sewer Pipes down the hill....is a crapped up mess and has to be replaced.....OY! This means that 65 feet of pipe needs to be replaced...Yes....you read that right....6-5 feet......It is going to take five guys and two days to do this....starting this morning at 8AM......Ugh! I am not looking forward to this, but...It has to be done. The old Pipe is so broken apart that sewage is leaking and seeping into the soil.....Ugh, Ugh....This is not good at all.....And that is putting it mildly.....! So, though I will need some bail-out money from the government to pay for this enormous project....it has to be done and I know I will rest a lot easier once it is completed, Hopefully, As promised, at the end of the day on Thursday..... Actually, I happen to like my Plumber very much....He is a good man....He is thorough and does very very neat work....And he cleans up after he is finished so that you don't even know he has been there, and yet, the problem---whatever it may be---is fixed!.....I just hope they do not have to disturb any of my beautiful plants in my garden, going down my hill....
Ahhhhh, the beauty of home-ownership......But, it comes with the territory, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else in the world......

Stay Tuned........!

More To Come.......

I'm sorry to hear about your plumbing troubles, Naomi. I hope everything is fixed by Thursday, as promised.

I can't believe 65 feet of pipe needs to be replaced! Wow! I'm glad you like and trust your plumber. He has a sh*tty job, but someone has to do it, right? ;)

PS - I LOVE the cartoons you included w/ this post. Priceless!

Good Luck Naomi, hopefully, they will not have to disturb your plants or garden too much.Sounds like good news to me that at least you have city sewers, one has not lived untill, they have experienced, having front yard torn up for months, while new leach fields are built & septic systems installed. We have been fortunate in that our guys are also very good at what they do. The mud that tends to be involved with such advendures, are what I get destressed wtih. Not to mention cost.
Hopefully they will be able to get every thing done without a lot of disturbance, to the property. Do you still have nice weather? Take care thinking of you. Pat from NY.

having a plumber you trust and like is more than half the battle - we're lucky that way too.

we had to have similar work done last year - not as extensive but the pipe was leaking into the laundry room and that made for some -uh - ambiance to say the least.

hang in there!

Thanks for stopping by my site! Oh no, a plumbing problem is not fun at all!!!

And yes that car video wasn't really funny, but it was more out of stupidity.... Really what were they thinking!!!

Good luck having everything under control.

Oh, no! I remember the summer I turned 15, our sewer line got stopped up and my dad said it was my fault because I used too much toilet paper. I had to dig up the line til the clog was found. Turned out, the offending item was my fault. A summer I'll never forget.

I hate to hear you are having pipe problems. Hopefully, they will get done quick. I get all upset when I can't use my shower or potty due to plumbing problems! Here is someone who is going through pipe problems right now, too, but due to a negligent builder!

Ugh! I do hope your plumber gets this fixed as quickly as possible for you. As you say, having your own home is wonderful but when things go wrong... still it's great that you have such a good plumber :)

I like the cartoons BTW :D I used to have the top one by my desk at work! LoL!

Well today is Thursday so I really hope it will all be finished today and it's good that you like your plumber because plumbing problems are the worst. You are very brave about it.
With any luck the plants will have appreciated the extra nourishment:)

so sorry for your plumbing challenges, Naomi. We have a septic system, and although we have had the septic system blues, it's works pretty well.

Thank goodness you have a good plumber you know and trust. That's a huge thing! I hope your plants don't get disturbed. We had new cables put in through my front bed, and the workers replanted things, but they are in completely different places. I keep telling myself that it's better than losing them.

I loved the cartoons - you are a wicked woman you are. (I loved the first photo *grin*)

Glad you've got a plumber you trust - pity they're so expensive, but as you said, it is something that needs to be done. No ifs, but(ts!) or maybes!

Loved the cartoons...lol. I hope everything gets fixed and doesn't cost you an arm and a leg (or two). Yes, home ownership has its downfall but I wouldn't have it any other way....Good luck and have a great time with Jamie Dawn when she comes to visit.

sorry...lol!

I LOVE that photo of the paddle store!

There was a septic system guy who worked in a small northern ontario town where my friend lived. On the side of his van it read...

"Joe Rivers...Your shit is my bread and butter." Honest to God!

Hey - "sh*t happens" but at least you have a wondeful attitude about it and that makes all the difference in the world (and a good plumber!).

Brilliant illustrations, which means you take the challange and problems with a humoristic attitude.

It's needed. If not fixed.
don't think about it.

I'mhappy to hear our plumber is doing a great job. That's the most important. get it fixed and done.

I laughed when I saw the pictures; its god you can maintain a sense of humour when dealing with such domestic emergencies. We had the heating fail at 8.20pm on Christmas Eve and then had to wait several days before plumbers were back in business.

Luckily we were able to improvise during the cold days and the weather remained mild.

I hop yo get this fixed soon, although 65 feet of pipework seems a lot to replace!

Wow! You’re one of the few lucky ones to find themselves expert plumbers. Having one can give you a peace of mind that whenever you have any plumbing needs, there is someone you can rely on. Make sure to establish a good working relationship with your plumber.
