Looking at your garden, your plants, your view, your WEATHER is almost enough to make me forget that it's about 10 degrees out here. Honestly, I don't know why I live in a place that gets cold.
I'm serious though. When I look at your photos it genuinely makes me feel good, and reminds me that Spring is around the corner for us.
Here by way of michele today, Naomi!
I do believe your garden knows how much you love every plant there and so produces as much beauty for you to see as it can possibly can...
Wonderful photo's and narrative as ever. I really feel like I have been on a tour of your garden with you.
That Euphorbia Medusa looks like something alien in a way. It is such a strange plant but those little yellow flowers are lovely. I always love cactus flowers - they are often very beautiful and come from the most unlikely looking buds on these strange prickly plants.
Your garden is thriving!
I'm so glad your weather warmed up nicely and that you took a nice stroll outside.
It is unusually windy today here, so I will be staying inside. It isn't terribly cold, but that wind is enough to keep me inside on this restful Saturday.
I hope you have a pleasant weekend.
Oh it's so wonderful to see your beautiful flowers and gardens. I'm jealous of your sunny, warm temps too*giggles*. It's snowing here today and the only green or flowers here are my indoor plants. And they aren't looking that great *LOL*. Thanks for giving me a glimmer that spring will soon be here:-). Have A Great Day!!!
As I sit here and it's -12C and we have a food of snow on the ground, all I can say is that I'm quite envious of you right now!! :)
This weather is getting me in the mood for spring and planting. It is such a gorgeous day today that we're taking a drive to San Vicente lighthouse and park to whale watch from the bluffs. It should be fabulously clear. I'm in the mood to smell the ocean and feel its breezes. Have a great day!
That Medusa is my favorite, I remember it from your video. I wish I could plant something beautiful like that here, but it'd die before it even got started. I'm stuck with daisies, roses, lilacs, and black eyed susans. Boring, but at least it's sumthin'!!
My Miata is red Naomi and I love it to bits. I will post a pic of it sometime when I've washed it - LOL! It is such fun to drive!
Thanksd for stopping by - I always love your visits. Funnily enough, I do intend to go to LA one day.
Now I am looking forward for summer upon seeing the fabulous pictures of your plants and your garden. They all look so robust, full of colour and life!
Dear Naomi - it must be close to year now since I found you - the pictures are beautiful - nice to watch George flower once again ---- incredible amarylis!!!!! Love and hugs always
Life IS good Naomi -- and your garden is gorgeous as EVER! I absolutely adore that medusa plant! I can see why it is given that name! It just ALWAYS amazes me the flowers that these succulent plants produce!
Your garden is gorgeous...I love all of the cacti you've shown.

I love visiting your blog and finding photos of your surroundings. So beautiful--and so different from where I live. The fact that you appreciate it so much is wonderful.
Wow, Naomi! As you might have guessed, I love the orange/salmon/peachy colored flowers! So abundant! It's life bursting forth! Do the hummingbirds like them?
Love the blooms esp. Gorgeous photos. And the skies have been so clear the last two days!
~S :)
Life IS good, Naomi. There is always something wonderful in our lives if we just look for it. You don't have to go far to see it, do you?!
So so beautiful, and a great reminder that soon enough, spring will happen here and there will be bulbs and flowers and lots and lots of green. I can't wait.
You know what I've been meaning to ask you? That euphorbia that you had to take down after the storm about a year ago, and you were going to try and root some of the branches you saved? Well, did that work for you or did you have to get rid of the whole thing?
I love so much to see your garden and your gorgeous plants! Would be so nice a walk with you, seeing this wonderful garden and beautiful blue sky! Have a lovely Sunday! Kisses to you and Sweetie.
Love those blossoms!
So exciting after such a long wait.
I love the beautiful pictures you take from your garden. YOur garden sounds wonderful, how large is it?
You have a garden of extrodinary beauty. A garden like that comes not out of neglect, but of love. I'm really impressed by the richness of flowering magnificense and the quality of your photos.
Thanks for sharing your wonders
=^.^=
As you know, I had been thinking about your garden and wondered how everything was doing, including George!! I always love your garden pictures and your descriptions of them. That Medusa is so lovely. I have never seen anything like that before. Very spectacular to say the least!!!
Those bees are enjoying your garden! Can't say I blame them, it is lovely!! Thanks for sharing dear Naomi!!
Yes, Naomi: life is good when you stop to smell the flowers. Wonderful pics...
Stunning! Just stunning.
Wish I were there.
What a refreshing and beautiful post. I loved the pictures.

That first picture is so gorgeous, the color... a peachy coral. Do bees love these plants as well? I wonder if all the bees winter in California. You couldn't find one around here right now if your life depended on it.
We had snow... well, we had flakes again for about a half an hour but the temps are falling and it is blustery outside. Low tonight 22.
Such a great variety of cacti and such wonderful blooms.
I find the cacti around your house absolutely amazing, Naomi. The variety and size just floor me. Like Bob-kat said--they're so alien looking. Your weather is quite enviable too. Been very windy and hovering right at the freezing mark here all day. Brrrr!
Michele sent me over to your Hills to see you, Naomi.
boo hoo, my husband has decided to leave me to come and live at your place. We both think your garden is beautiful and he loves the way you move that lens and create magic. Gotta go so I can pack his bags.
I thought of you and your garden every day we were in St Martin and I saw the cacti and aloe growing naturally. It must be so nice to wake to such beautiful things every day. I'm jealous!
*breathing a deep, peaceful sigh*
Lovely.
Of course, it's raining tonight and tomorrow... :)
all those plants are so foreign to me.... it's really neat to see what grows in other parts of the country. thanks for sharing! do bees pollinate the cacti? or are they pollinated a different way? and what type of plant is that in the first couple of pictures, with the little orange bell-like flowers?
Oh! I've been so protected. I must come to LA sometime and see these plant creatures for myself!
You aren't the only one who loves your garden. Because of your photos, your words & dedication so many of us also love your garden. I've never seen anything as amazing as "Euphorbia Medusa"...it is a wreath made by Mother Nature. And those orange flowers, are they named some sort of 'bells'? The look as though they should be.
Oh, George! I can't imagine your plants not feeling your love. And George must feel especially loved.
