Then here below is closer look at one of the other blossoms, head on, which is more the way we are used to seeing them in photographs... I happen to speak to dear Earl H. yesterday...(He had sent these 6 bulbs to me for Christmas...) and asked him if he knew were all the flowers going to be this beautiful bright red, and he said 'yes', he believed they were....
Here is another view of the other open pod, again, with the third blossom not open yet..... And below is a slightly differant angle of this group....I am just having the best time taking pictures of these gorgeous flowers....to be able to watch their progress I find incredibly magical, as I have said before.... And then here below....another close-up of one of these stunning blossoms, in all it's open beauty....I am continually reminded of the awesomeness of nature and all it has to teach us about everything....not the least of which is the amazing 'cycle of life'.... You can count on the fact that I will be following the progess of all these other pods which are in one stage or another of their growth....but meanwhile I am just savoring so much being able to look at these very special flowers and study their beauty to my hearts content....A privilage and a joy, too....
UPDATE ON UPDATE: Here is one of those pods with all three flowers open...! Beautiful, indeed.....!
And I apologize for having to put on Word Verification....too much spam recently....Thanks for understanding....
More To Come, For Sure
They are gorgeous and exactly the same colour as mine which is fully open with four blooms! I love the same picture that you do. Nature is amazing isn't it? :-)
I can't believe I'm the first commenter. Watch, I'll hit post and it will have five others.
What gorgeous flowers for a winter day. Really catches the eye I bet with that punch you don't get from other colors... beautiful.
How long will they bloom?
Magnificent! Gorgeous! I just love these flowers! Thank you for sharing such beauty and magic with us.
Have a wonderful day!

Naomi, this flower is gorgeous!
Your picture is great, too! Well done!
Oh I just knew this was going to be a gift that you were REALLY going to enjoy! I am SO thankful to Earl H. for sending this to you!!! And to YOU for sharing it with US! It's a beauty, that's for sure!
More gorgeous shots Naomi!! It's so funny that in a few shots it looks like the painting "is painting" the flowers, the way his hand and brush are angled lol.
Earl sure did pick a good bunch of blubs for you! I bet he's glad that you let him know how beautifully they are blooming!
It sort of looks like the artist in the painting behind the plant is painting he blossoms!
I had to do the same thing with word verification, Naomi. :)
Gorgeous flowers. Stunning. So vivid. Love 'em.

I took time to get caught up with your posts.
I hope you had a very Happy Heart Day.
I, of course, ate dark chocolate, but unfortunately, I had run out of truffles before V Day. I "suffered' through some Dove dark chocolates. :)
I heard a program about Billy Strayhorn last week on NPR. I exercise in the mornings and listen to various radio shows. It was such an interesting segment about him that it kept me on my elliptical trainer for a long time!
I agree with your comments about the death of Anna Nicole Smith. The news has gone OVERboard with this story. I can see them announcing her death and giving details, but not the hours and hours of coverage it is getting. Good LORD!!!!
The flowers are gorgeous!!
I won't have a new post up until the weekend. I've been too busy the past few days, and I'm using whatever spare time I have to visit blog buddies.
Stop by JD's this weekend!! That's me, BTW. :)
So pretty! I'm glad you are enjoying them so much and sharing them with us, too!
These flowers are really incredible in there beauty. And you are a master to replicate the whole mood of the watch over them.
As a Red Cardinal, which I was transformed into this afternoon, I must admit I love the color.
:))
They are so breathtakingly beautiful! Earl H. did well when he chose those for you!!
As I see these I wonder what is going on in the garden with George and all your other plants? Hope George isn't jealous! :) He shouldn't be though, since he's had lots of his pictures on here!!
Nature is so awesome and amazing. It's such a joy to see and watch things grow and then die back and return the next year, etc. Just awesome!!
Exotic erotic! I've seen some cacti and other plants that made me think of you here in Florida!
Beautiful, just like you !
Happy Friday ( or at least it will be in few hours lol)
So many of those shots could be on a calender they are so lovely.
How exciting that your flower is doing so well....you must have a very green thumb! I had no idea it would grow so quickly.
Those are so beautiful and such a rich color. Thank you for keeping us updated on the amaryllis' progress. :)
Beautiful! Are you using a macro lens, or just cropping or zooming in, wonderful work.
Yea...after a year, I had to put on comment approval too. I got some real weirdos that wrote stuff on my comments that made no sense at all.
I hate people that ruin a good thing!
Wow! They are gorgeous! I gotta get me one of those!!
Here via Michele's.
Your amaryllis looks fantastic! I got stuck with a long leaf, but no flowers! Lucky you... ;)
the pictures look almost like paintings !
Again, lovely colors!! I have posted a plant of mine you might be able to help me out by telling me its name :)
have a lovely day!
Incredible flowers! But the photography is superb also.
The color is so vivid. It's amazing. Thanks for sharing with us.
What a gorgeous plant. My favorite photos are the two with side closeups. Very stunning.
Aren't those spammers terrible. I had my word verification of for about 5 days, as an experiment prompted by Skittles, but then suddenly I was getting hourly spam posts. Very annoying and the verification went back on, sigh.
I hope you had a great Valentine's Day.
Betty :)
As I've told you before; I just love Amaryllis and how much it reminds me of Christmas holidays. A lot of Norwegians bye it before to grow in house for the holiday and I think it i so beautiful. Thanks for this wonderful reminder and what great pictures!
Wishing you a wonderful and collarfull end to your week:-)
What an attractive color! Would fit well in my newly renovated office. It's a pity we don't grow them over here. And if I buy them, it's really expensive. I can try buying an artificial one instead.
Have a wonderful day!
Oh, they are gorgeous and I'm so envioous. All I can see is feet and feet of the white stuff. And I thought that this was going to be an easy winter!
Oh dear! Whenever i wax lyrical my comment gets eaten or maybe it's being moderated and you are asleep? Just many thanks for the diligence and artistry you have shown in providing such stunning pictures . BTW Michele sent me.
Such a magnificent flower - especially in all its glory :)
Those are so breath-taking. I think the only time I've seen that color of orange is on Jennifer Garner's dress at the Oscars, remember that dress?
