And looking at those little trees on the horizon...HERE is the most recent amazing magical view of them..... Ooooops! No, that is not the trees....but, it is a beautiful beautiful sunset sky picture taken in the same direction as those beautiful trees.....
The view from my home, truly truly saves me....Without this view, truth be told, I would have been dead a long, long, long time ago. Believe me my dear dears.....long gone.....but, with the beauty of nature like this....well, what I can say....I am blessed.... Oh, Oh, Oh...now there are those delicate vulnerable sweet dear trees, in close up....(I am so glad I finally found where I saved this rendering...well, it is like a painting, isn't it?....). So often at this time of year there are fantastic clear skies....It has been chilly and the winds have been really really blowing.....and that cleans out all the shmutz in the so-called 'basin'....and so then we have a gorgeous sunset like this.....
This next picture is one of my favorite views....the dusky sunset seen through the Euphorbia Ingens on the side of my house, looking west, of course....I keep taking this picture on different days over a period of months....the Euphorbia Ingens seed pods are visable here in silouette....and just to the left, in this particular picture, is the Euphorbia Amak Verigated.... And here below, another shot of these Euphorbia's back around January 9th, 2006....Almost a year ago now....How did this year just fly by? There is something about the combination of the sunset and the plants that moves me....God knows how many times I've taken similar shots...and the truth is they are never the same...they are each different and to me, quite stunning....So, here is one more with just a teeny tiny part the of the city visible, too....This is kind of a peaceful sunset which feels very appropriate as we are now just a few days and nights away from Christmas Eve.....Lovely and Peaceful, indeed.....
I dont know but there is also a romantic atmosphere around sunsets. It is nice to watch a sunset with your special someone.
Anyway, lovely shots Naomi!
Your text and pictures goes so HILLarious well togehter. I'm so happy I've found your blog.
I really like these photos! Suddenly while driving west over Kellogg Hill on I-10 this afternoon to take my granddaughter from back East to a TV show taping, we marveled at spotting the tips of downtown L.A. skyscrapers -- which often can't be done from that distance due to the state of the "stuff" in the air. Your recent L.A. skyline post from your home immediately came to mind which I mentioned to loved ones.
Oh, what beautiful silhouettes of the plants against the gorgeous colours of the sunsets! Truly magnificent. I just love the one of the trees against the orange sky.
I am so glad that you delight in what you see and share it with us!
Happy Holidays to you. I wish you a peaceful and jouyous time.
Forgot to say...
To answer your question, the cat in the photo is not my dear Bob but the look on the face is similar and that is why I used it. At the time I started my blog I didn't have my digital camera and had no pictures of Bob to use! I will take some of him with his stocking and post them on my return! Lol.
I love black silouettes against a night sky, very primitive feeling. Mmmmm. Thanks.
I always enjoy these Naomi. When I lived in CA it was in the Valley, so I had no such sights as you do! They are gorgeous!!!
Beautiful.
Beautiful! Beautiful sunset pictures, Naomi! The dusky sunset seen through the Euphorbia Ingens on the side of your house is just stunning, breathtaking!
Beautiful as usual! I love them. Keep 'em comin'!
Your view saves me too! :)
Absolutely stunning pics, as always :)
Love the silhouettes, the colors, everything!
I'm with you. I love the combinations of plants/silhouettes and the sunset. And that gorgeous orange sunset! Wow.

Lovely sunsets and views from your home, Naomi. I always enjoy looking at them vicariously through your photos.
Very nice! The colours are gorgeous!
These are beautiful as every Naomi! For SOME reason, that middle one with the cacti reminds me of dancing kokopeli... I dunno why. It just does!
Thanks for the visit, Naomi, and the nice comments. Most of my stuff for Christmas is stored in the attic, which is not fully floored, but enough so I can put most everything up there. This year, I have decided, that before I put everything away, I am going to pare down a little and give some stuff to my children. It will make it a little easier for them when we move from here - or when I am no longer around.
Naomi, those trees in the sunset just took my breath away! Lovely. You have the greatest sunsets and the east coast has to be satisfied with the sunrises. My goal is to someday capture a moonrise over the ocean on a clear night with a full moon. I can dream.
Stunning!(I smiled at cleaning the schmutz out. Great description!)
Sunsets (or trees) are my favorite subject to watch, photograph, and paint.
Those photos are lovely. The sunsets are so vibrant!
Thank you for sharing.
I hope that your holiday is a peaceful and wonderful one.

So Serene and Lovely. I'm reminded of a line from "On a Clear Day"..."When The Glow Of Your Evening Outshines Every Star".
It's the Music of the Hills.
The trees and the cacti with that beautiful background is stunning! I love those pictures....Pretty clouds like that always make me think of heaven....that maybe angels are sitting there watching us!
Gorgous work Naomi!
Awesome photos, Naomi. Especially the one with the trees and those clouds are gorgeous!
I agree...I feel the winter sunsets are the most spectacular.
The silouettes look like real people looking on.
The 3rd pic down is just stunning!
Naomi, thanks so much for voting. He is still a looker (although much heavier). Back in 1961 or 2, he won a Fabian look-alike contest that some girls entered his photo in. Thanks again! We both appreciate it.

Absolutely breath-taking, my Angelic friend... :-)

Naomi, I owe you an apology. In true form, I didn't remember that part of her post when I decided to put up a link to it. I should have read it more carefully and thought about some parts of it. Most of it was written for the comedy it affords, but humor at the expense of a group or a person is never a good thing. I am sorry, and I hope you will not think that I agreed with that part of it.
Those last 4 photos are breathtaking!! Really, they are.....the orange in that sunset is so gorgeous, it looks like orange sherbet. Oh, how I wish I had a decent camera to capture stuff like that.....maybe for Xmas. =)
Sometimes when they show an LA view on television, I always say, "Hey! That's near Naomi's view!" I love your pics friend. :)
Hello, my dear blog buddy, Naomi!!
It has been quite awhile since I\'ve been in Blogland.
I sure have missed your stories and wonderful photos. Your kissing fishie is so cute, and I see that you are dedicating Tuesdays for CATS!!
I hope your holidays are warm and FABulous!!
I just baked some cookies and banana bread. I\'m feeling quite jolly.
Ho Ho Ho!!
Had already read this post....but just popping by to wish you a wonderful holiday weekend. All the best to you, Naomi.
I love the cacti and the third photo from the top looks like a Soutine landscape.
Have a great holiday, Naomi!
The cacti look like people! The beautiful people!
loving the tree silhouettes!
