Hi Naomi, love these photos!
Golden Barrel is really wonderful!
I have in my garden a little Kalanchoe and it's very resistant.
I like so much the Cactus and Succulant world and here in my garden they are the only resistant to the attack of the ants.
Beautiful post Naomi! I'm looking forward to see more photos!
Lovely! I miss miss miss my So Cal garden, but now that I moved to New Mexico, I am learning about all the local flora. Some of it is the same, the Hens and Chicks, the other succulents, but since I live on the edge of the Great Plains, there are more water worthy plants as well. Thanks for posting those photos.
I just love the pictures.. I love cactus.. My dad has small potted cactus nothing compared to those!
Love the pictures of course! I have hens and chicks here but none as beautiful as those and I've never seen any bloom like that! Obviously they are better suited to your climate than ours!!
Be looking forward to more pictures, as I love any kind of flowers/gardens!!
Great pictures and very informative post, my dear. I love your plants, mine are so much smaller and I do not have the variety you display, although I guess the climate is quite similar. Thanks for the kind comment on the audition (lol), it was a lot of fun!
Thank you for stopping by my blog and for your comment regarding art. I think I will rent the movie you suggested!
It helps talking to others who feel this same way...as a studio artist, it can get pretty lonely and feeling like I am the only one who feels this way! I truly appreciate you coming by and your comments!
Love the photos, your home must be a showcase!
Here from Micheles today
Great pictures!! Thanks for going through these, I'll never have the patience to be a gardener but really appreciate them!
So pretty! I still have to plant my yard in my new house, but I htink I better wait until Spring.
Your plantings are gorgeous. I'm curiuos if any of these plants could handle being houseplants in large containers...???...
They had a cactus garden in our newspaper the other day & let me say, it was nothing compared to yours! Not even remotely. I love the 'hens and chicks', I think its just so beautiful. I love looking at the pictures of your garden Naomi, you give it so much love. It's no wonder its so alive!
Wow, what a beautiful garden you have! You're making me miss CA - that's for sure:)
We have golden barrels too and they are beautiful - especially when the bloom. That's what I so love about cactus. They look kind of mean, but they produce these beautiful delicate flowers. Quite the dichotomy! Can't wait to see more pictures and see what other plants we have in common. :)
I love cactii. I would sure hate to trip and fall in your garden, though, ouch!
Thanks for posting the lovely pics.
I agree with Sonia. The Golden Barrel is really neat looking.
I just imagine a burglar trying to sneak up the hill to your house and falling into all those prickly cacti.
Great pictures and very enlightening for those of us that live above the 49th parallel.
WOW, Naomi, your cacti are really wonderful. I love the first photo; the spines look so geometric!
I really would love to visit your garden but I'm afraid that a trip to the USA is out of the question at the moment. We are going to build a house in the near future so a new garden will be pending - cactus prehaps? Nah, maybe not with a small child around....
Lovely photos. I am afraid I am not musch of a gardener. But I do enjoy looking at the results of other's hard work.
Forgot to mention that Michele sent me today.
Our only cacti are those my son planted in pots but they are teeny compared to yours.
I would be too afraid to have huge ones with children around.
Have a great day I am back off to bed :)
I had no idea there were so many different kinds of cactus or that they could be so pretty. Great pictures!
Beautiful photos! :-)
As a boy, I never really thought that I would get into plants... but after a stint managing a garden shop I can't live without the green in my house!
Love the photos!
I really liked your blog; I used to read it every day. I thought it was simply lovely in every way. I assumed you were, too. And then I read some of your comments on another blog.
Michele sent me back but i think I have commented on every one of your posts LOL
Mamacita, the next time you post a comment like that please post your address along with it and I will be promptly over to give you the shin-kicking you deserve. My friend Naomi is a lovely person in ways I don't think you could comprehend. I'm sure it is her compassionate view of the world and all its ways that has got your own narrow mind in such a mean spirited state. So please, Gei Gezunt, which means in Yiddish, "Go. Go in peace. But GO!"
