I know some are pansies, but I'm not sure about one or two others......
Like this one above----I'm not sure what it is----at first I thought it was another type of Pansy....but I don't think so now.
Whatever it is----it is truly Beautiful!

I love the way it looks like Bird Wings there in the middle........
That's what I love about getting in close on a flower----you never know what you might see until you actually see the slide.

Pansies are such beautiful little flowers. Quite unusual when you really take notice of them. It's funny how we see things and sometimes really don't see them as they really are.

ReplyDeleteI am slowly reading all my blogging friends’ posts since I am much behind because of my blog break. I read all the posts I missed on your blog and admired your beautiful pictures. You are quite talented with the art of photography. I have some old slides from the 1970s but nothing like those pretty pansies of yours! I also love pansies – they have such a variety of colors. Is your garden still visited by humming birds?

ReplyDeleteI wonder what the evolutionary purpose was for the various colors and patterns. I know color can attract bees and birds, but why yellow bleeding into purples, or pink or white. The patterns are interesting.
ReplyDeleteBreathtaking colors and images within the petals... Thanks for pointing out the bird wings on the one pansy, I had missed that. My first camera (after the instamatic) was a Pentax 1000 SLR, no automatic anything, and I loved it, despite it's awkward largeness and weight when carrying it around my neck! I too had long lenses for distance and micro shots. I learned and loved to work with shutter speed and f-stops. I practiced so I could load film into it at a moment's notice, how about you?! Wasn't it an amazing experience to get the film (or slide) back from the developer and find out what had worked and what hadn't?? Yes, I love my little digital camera (can't afford a digital SLR right now, it's on my wish list), but I DO like seeing the digital image immediately!!!
