show me some roses
These were the most BEAUTIFUL Roses.....the colors were just mesmerizing in every way.....
The incredibly talented Van of The Conservatory had made two Arrangements for me---one was a gift from the lovely Terri of Island Writer, and the other was a gift from Van, himself---in honor of my Birthday. He used a lot of Roses....the ones in this post are just one of the types of Roses, he used......
As a painter and as a person who loves color more than anything---I found these so very beautiful...They were not just pink....there were gradations of other colors....But just look at the center of this Rose above....The pink is so very deep......
A closer look at the depth of that pink.....And then below....a closer look at the gradations of the petals as we leave the center of the rose.....
I can never get enough of the beauty of Roses.....not ever.
Just look at the way the petals seem to flow outward in such a perfect way.....there are no mistakes in nature...It is all perfect and all beautiful.
Even the imperfectness of the shapes is perfect, to me....and look at how the outer petals have this lovely soft green tinge......
And then you put another flower of another color next to it and that brings out more of the colors of the Rose.....But, there isn't a bad picture of a Rose, no matter what!
No matter what angle you take it from, it takes your breath away.....It is truly awesome, to me......There will be more Roses coming along next time, too. They will be of some different colors, of course.....Meanwhile, enjoy!
More To Come..........
As always, your photo composition for flowers is spot-on.
ReplyDeleteCheers.
Roses are my best friend ;) They are gorgeous Naomi :D
ReplyDeleteYou know I'm not into flowere at all, but your photos have changed my mind!
ReplyDeleteThere's an award for you on my blog!
Your images of the roses are as good as air conditioning to lift my spirits! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI can FEEL how soft and sensual they are.
ReplyDeleteOh my, these are beautiful. As R. Sherman says, your photos of flowers are just spot on. In fact, they would make a lovely piece of art all on their own. I can just see them framed in a series. I love pink and mauves and purples. Van sounds a wonderful florist and you clearly are a true artist. Now Naomi - have we seen your art on your blog and how did you get started with art. Which of your talents started first? Music, art, writing, acting etc.
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous, indeed, Naomi. The thing I like best is the juxtaposition of the colors (blue hydrangeas against pink roses tinged with green) and the darker pink dahlias. That makes every color pop!
ReplyDeleteI have one rose bush and that rude Dow that I posted on my site a few weeks ago ate all my buds and other foliage as well.. I have since heard it works if you sprinkle the plants with pepper..now I know.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures as usual.
Dorothy from grammology
Wonderful pictures and while no fragrence, no thorns either. Great way to enjoy. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteno one, absolutely no one, captures the folds and textures and details of a flower the way you do
ReplyDeleteyou paint with your camera
Van really is an artist with his arrangements. I love it when you feature his beautiful works!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I think we live on different planets because I've never in my life seen flowers that are so breathtakingly beautiful and you seem to have them around you all the time. Then I always realize it's the magic that you do with your camera and your amazing eye for beauty that improves on even God's work!
ReplyDeleteDoes Van deliver to Miami?? lol
ReplyDeleteThey're beautiful and their colors are amazing! I agree with you, there is never a bad picture of a rose (or roses), and when you're the one behind the camera, they come alive!
Thanks for bringing some beauty into my Saturday afternoon. Have a rosy day! :)
Roses are so enigmatic. There are the soft colours, the curling petals, the many layers of the blossom, and the fragrance....in contrast to the cruel thorns on the stems.
ReplyDeleteLovely impressions of rosiness in your pictures, Naomi.
I have always loved roses, my great grandparents grew wonderful rose bushes when I was a kid. Love the scent. Van does great work, very talented!
ReplyDeleteYour roses are stunning, gorgeous, Naomi! The color are fantastic! You did a wonderful photos too!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice Sunday!
Many hugs!

ReplyDeleteThe roses are lovely Naomi. I love roses in all colors and picking a favorite would be hard! Great photos!!
ReplyDeleteThese are just gorgeous. I love the one with the purple flower next to it. They're just like paintings.
ReplyDeleteSince I've been reading your blog, I've tried photographing roses and they never look like yours. These are beautiful as always. Maybe it's the California sun?
ReplyDeleteThe simple beauty of a flower. Delightful.
ReplyDeleteThose are something beautiful. I love roses also. I think I have some white ones in my back yard. I will have to go out tomorrow and take a photo of them and down load them on the computer.
ReplyDeleteSo dreamy. I'm with you and I can't understand how looking at roses can make me feel so unglued. Sort of like falling in love or having a new crush.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colours, Naomi!
ReplyDeleteI bet they smelled amazing!
Roses are my favourite flower and if I were rich I'd have fresh ones delivered every day. I love the pink with the pale green outer leaf- that is perfection.
ReplyDeleteI think American roses are different - I think we call them tea roses.
What a compliment to be given roses by the florist himself. Lucky lady:)
i absolutely ADORE your rose pictures ... you capture every the best that they have to offer!
ReplyDeleteYou bring me into a Fairytale of flowers and natures wonders.
ReplyDeleteLike you have done all your life

Tor
Roses are art just by themselfs; with you behind the camera, well what to say but you create roses as art into a new dimension;)
