This is a succulant that is no bigger than a slightly thick pencil...look at the piping...(Nature is simply amazing)....and you can see where clothing designers get their ideas...and check out those teeny tiny flowers, too....

I love cacti, especially the "non-needle-sticky" kind. While I have seen a few growing around here, it was always to humid and damp in Mississippi for them. There they had to be indoor plants, small and cared for with benign neglect.

I have some succulents in the garden, but on my walks here in Albany, Oregon; believe it or not I have seen beautiful cactus (large and small) in bloom (in warmer weather)in some gardens here. I have wanted to go and knock on their doors to see how they get them to look so nice and to actually to bloom in our rainy Oregon weather. You would think they would rot. I take it they must use sand or something to make sure that the water drains at the roots and when it freezes here, they must cover them in some way. I will have to find out! On one of my walks I will have to gather pictures and some information. Lovely picture Naomi! And as usual after I have been away awhile; to catch myself back up on your Blog postings I have to find my dratted reading glasses, now where did I leave them? LOL!
