This is a succulant that is no bigger than a slightly thick pencil...look at the piping...(Nature is simply amazing)....and you can see where clothing designers get their ideas...and check out those teeny tiny flowers, too....
I'm not a Photo Friday Regular but I haven't had time to do a nice long post, so...I hope you enjoy this....
BTW - I had to tell you... You've inspired me to start buying cacti again. Picked up a Echinocactus grusonii measuring about 3" across a few days ago. My first cactus in years. Now to make it flower..... [grin]
Naomi, Michele sent me today. That photo is really gorgeous! I can't believe how many different colored flowers the cactus has. Just beautiful!
Clothing designers from Mars would have a field day with that plant LOL
Michele sent me this time but I am here every day checking up on you.
Michele sent me! Love your site!
Hello again! Here today from Michele's. What a beautiful plant.
I love this picture. Nature beats man made hands down!
Thanks for stopping by today. Glad you enjoyed the hormone humor! :p
Love the succulent. What can you tell me about it? I know nothing about plants.
Back again, via Michele again. That cactus looks better every time I see it!
Here from Michele's...pretty...
It is interesting. I have the same fascination with flowers, even the ones considered weeds. Nature is just amazing!
won't you please come by my blog and help me grovel to ellen Degeneres? I need some help spreading the word...
What an awesome photo. I love getting in really close like that... it changes your whole perspective on things. Here from Michele's
Michele sent me back, I am having a bad day so I am going to be at Micheles a lot I think !
I love that photo. I just wish I could grow succulents here in the frozen tundra. Maybe indoors, if it were ever warm enough indoors. And sunny enough. Oh, never mind!
Here from Michele, Naomi and now I'm going to see Mr Sweetie's site. He's such a good helper!
That is cool. I don't know much about plants, but I sure like to marvel at them. I heard some one say that plants are where he gets his spirituality. He thinks to himself, "Ya know, I can't make that from scratch, and I don't know anyone who can."
Works for me!
~Mike
That picture is very colorful! Here from micheles
what a clear close up! when i try to take a picture in this close, with detail like this, my camera blurs badly!
i love your cactii
greetings from michele... i would have made it on my own eventually, though!
thats a very pretty little plant
That IS beautiful. Like a necklace that my daughters would LOVE to play with!
Thanks for visiting my blog (more than once, even)!
It's really a lovely picture. Nature truly is amazing!
Hope you aren't working too hard! I'm sure with Sweetie's help you aren't though!!
succulents are so beautiful because of their texture. i've always loved them. do you have a little plant called "lambs ears" out there in So Cal?
Great shot, Naomi! wonderful post for a friday, I am starting my saturday with it, though, lol! Now off to water my plants :)
Cool, about as thick as an iPod Nano. :P
Those cacti are as always amazing! I always forget Photo Friday ... I need more ginko!
Nice shot. Yes you're truly right about how amazing nature is. It made me think of buying some this weekend and start collecting them again. I used to have them years ago but had to give them away when we did some renovations in the garden.
I love so much the succulent!
They are a great survival here in my garden surrounded by a lot of hungry ants! LOL!
Beautiful photo, Naomi!
Have a great weekend and enjoy Josh Groban's DVD!
This is art. Seriously, I hope you see fit to get this printed up nice and bit (at least 11x18), framed, and mounted in a happy place in your home.
And if you're taking orders, make a few extra copies for the rest of us. I'm sure everyone here would display it with pride.
Are you sure you haven't done this professionally?
I love cacti, especially the "non-needle-sticky" kind. While I have seen a few growing around here, it was always to humid and damp in Mississippi for them. There they had to be indoor plants, small and cared for with benign neglect.
I have some succulents in the garden, but on my walks here in Albany, Oregon; believe it or not I have seen beautiful cactus (large and small) in bloom (in warmer weather)in some gardens here. I have wanted to go and knock on their doors to see how they get them to look so nice and to actually to bloom in our rainy Oregon weather. You would think they would rot. I take it they must use sand or something to make sure that the water drains at the roots and when it freezes here, they must cover them in some way. I will have to find out! On one of my walks I will have to gather pictures and some information. Lovely picture Naomi! And as usual after I have been away awhile; to catch myself back up on your Blog postings I have to find my dratted reading glasses, now where did I leave them? LOL!
What a fun picture! The more you look, the more there is to see!
It's snowing here today and that picture made me feel nice and warm and cozy. Thanks, Naomi
Gorgeous photo!
Here via Michele's today.
Delicious. Really. The forms in nature are there for us all the time. We just have to see them and report back. That's what makes us human. The opposable thumb ain't nothin' but vanilli.
this is an amazing image..
I really love it.
here from michele's... i normally do participate in photo friday but this weeks theme was masculine and i couldnt find anything to post so i didnt do it.. is this pix supposed to be in the masculine theme too or is this a different photo friday?
nice one! the wonders of nature never ceases to amaze. :)
Coming here from Michele's this time :)
Your photos of plants are always so wonderful, especially to someone such as myself who seems to have the world's worst brown thumb. I sincerely can't get the hang of keeping plants! But you make them look so beautiful :) Thanks!
Ohh cool picture! Thanks for visiting me!
I also thought your post about MGM movies/stars was interesting too.
