a rose for today

Here is a series of pictures of one Rose.....One very beautiful Rose, from many different angles...... This Rose was a part of another beautiful arrangement by that great 'Artist of Flowers', Van, who's shop, The Conservatory is right down the hill from me...... Here above you can see a larger portion of the flowers surrounding that particular Rose....Van always uses such interesting flowers in such beautiful combinations.......The flowers are always truly 'fresh', as if he had been to the Flower Mart that morning.....and the Roses, in particular...Always perfection! And then, my very favorite of these closer looks..... I love this picture....! The petals are so incredibly beautiful.....The color of this particular Rose was striking in every way....Yes, it was Orange, but it had so much subtlety of color in, too....I thought it was an incredibly stunning Rose...... The way the petals fell in such an artful way....I've said this before, many times....You Cannot Beat Nature's Artistry.......And I must stay with Nature...For Balance, For Beauty, and For My Sanity....!

There will definitely be....

More To Come........

  2. I don't think I've seen a rose this color before; it's beautiful, like the inside of a mango in one of the photos. I love how much clarity you get from these close ups. I always tell you, but your close ups shots are amazing, Naomi! Thanks for brightening up my Friday. ;)

Have a wonderful weekend in the hills!

  6. That color is one of my favorites. The roses have a deep plum color on the outer edges of the outer petals and the combination is exquisite. Your closeups are phenomenal!

  10. Naomi,
What an exqusite rose - you make flowers look even more incredible than nature does on its own !

Hope you are doing well, and enjoying the cooling weather somewhat. It may even rain a bit tomorrow !

My parents and I are going to LaCachette tomorrow night for dinner to celebrate her 83rd birthday - look for the restaurant review :)

  14. When I first met my partner of 29yrs, I wanted to give her red roses, all the small town had was 12 yellow and orange roses. So now every year we seek out orange roses (yellow is easier)...yours are perfection.

  20. I am not sure if it's the rose that's so unique, or your photography that brings out it's beauty. Regardless, those are the most beautiful pictures of a rose I think I've ever seen.

    USC is winning!!!! w00 h00!

  26. I love the way you see things so artistically and compositionally, if that is a word! You don't go for just that record shot, just a mere snapshot, you always go for the grace and beauty in the lines that define the flower itself and I love that about you.
