sunset looking west
This was what was happpening in the sky this afternoon around 3:55p.m.....a dramatic sky all day, actually, with the threat of rain and horrific winds which continue as I write this....rather scary winds, I might add....I love that you can see some blue sky up in the left hand corner across the top....and sun trying to stream through the way it does sometimes.....
And then....here is the sunset....well I should say the changing sunset, a minute after 5p.m....the winds having blown out quite a lot of the heavy rain clouds that had been hovering all day.....this is looking west with the Pacific Ocean just there on the horizon....Glorious!And a close-up of those wonderful trees on the hill with the setting sun against the cloud(s) behind it.....
Peaceful and lucious, all at the same time....I love those wonderful trees on the hill more and more as time goes on....and....
More To Come......
What a dramatic sky! I just love the colours in the second photo and I love the close up of the trees too. They really are a lovely silhouette against the sky.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your message about the card. I am glad that you liked it :-)
wow.. that is some dramatic sunset!.. but I think I like the last picture of the trees best!
ReplyDeleteI keep telling you Naomi.. you have the eye for a table top book!
So pretty! We had a lovely sunset yesterday as well, but I missed most of it because I was so busy getting ready for our party. Ah well.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are beautiful! I love sunsets :) We've not had any beautiful sunsets here for a while, the weather hasn't been right. So it's lovely to see yours :) Take care.
ReplyDeleteI love the picture with the trees "sliding" down the hill side ... the sky is so fantastic
ReplyDeleteBecause I was gone and missed it... I hope you had a merry Christmas Naomi... and have a stellar new year.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a real treat seeing the world through your eyes, and I look forward to seeing more of it. :)
Just beautiful photos, Naomi!
ReplyDeleteWonderful sunset and amazing view from your porch!
You DO get some gorgeous skies sittin' up there on your hill.
ReplyDeleteOh! Isn't that fun! Love it. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! I'm glad you were there to capture it! I wanna come live with you :)
ReplyDeleteHoly COW! 11 clocks for just one person! That means my family is actually BEHIND in the game -- to maintain YOUR time, we would need 66 clocks!!! LOL!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. I love your last picture. That is beautiful. I've posted a few more pictures of our snow storm that we are currently getting. Nothing as beautiful as your sunset photos.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE ALL THESE PHOTOS AND KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT THE TREES ON YOUR HILL.
ReplyDeleteMY SON HAS BEEN OPERATING HIS OWN FORRESTRY BUSINESS FOR 30 YEARS AND TAUGHT ME HOW TO REALLY APPRECIATE THE BEAUTY OF TREES.
You are the ULTIMATE weather forcaster and reporter. LOL. Fantastic pic's.
ReplyDeleteWish you the very best for 2007.
They are all good photos, but that last one is terrific!
ReplyDeleteGreat clouds! I bet those winds can howl through the canyons and over those hills, very scary. But these skies look inviting.
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures - I love the second and third. And I really love the way the sun streams through the clouds in rays of light sometimes - I'd really like to capture a good photo of that.

Dramatic but thus so lovely! Thanks for sharing your hills with us!
ReplyDeleteBtw: It's less DANGEROUS to come over and eat with me now :-)
Lovely pictures as usual Naomi! I saw on the weather channel that CA was getting the rain and wind and I thought about you up there in the hills!
ReplyDeleteYour views are wonderful and you take full advantage of them! Glorious!!
I sthere a sky out there?! Oh my, I've been so "wrapped up" (Christmas pun intended). I love the last shot, as if the trees were climbing up or down a stairway!
ReplyDeleteI envy you. Ours are just grey, though the sun seems to be boring a slight hole through the greyness. Alas...
ReplyDeletehere via michele today.
gorgeous!

Spectacular photos....such an angry looking sky, but such beauty.
ReplyDeleteAnd they say the best things in life are free? I think your view proves that correct. Enjoy!
I love to see a beautiful sunset.
ReplyDeleteI hope this notes finds you doing well in the afterglow of Christmas. Now, we must gear up to ring in the New Year!!
Gorgeous as usual!
ReplyDeleteI love how you keep shooting that scene as it evolves from day to day, hour to hour. Sunsets never get tired, and I hope you continue to share them from your unique vantage point.
