sunset looking west

This was what was happpening in the sky this afternoon around 3:55p.m.....a dramatic sky all day, actually, with the threat of rain and horrific winds which continue as I write this....rather scary winds, I might add....I love that you can see some blue sky up in the left hand corner across the top....and sun trying to stream through the way it does sometimes.....
And then....here is the sunset....well I should say the changing sunset, a minute after 5p.m....the winds having blown out quite a lot of the heavy rain clouds that had been hovering all day.....this is looking west with the Pacific Ocean just there on the horizon....Glorious!

And a close-up of those wonderful trees on the hill with the setting sun against the cloud(s) behind it..... Peaceful and lucious, all at the same time....I love those wonderful trees on the hill more and more as time goes on....and....

More To Come......

  1. What a dramatic sky! I just love the colours in the second photo and I love the close up of the trees too. They really are a lovely silhouette against the sky.

Thanks for your message about the card. I am glad that you liked it :-)

  12. I LOVE ALL THESE PHOTOS AND KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT THE TREES ON YOUR HILL.
MY SON HAS BEEN OPERATING HIS OWN FORRESTRY BUSINESS FOR 30 YEARS AND TAUGHT ME HOW TO REALLY APPRECIATE THE BEAUTY OF TREES.

  15. Great clouds! I bet those winds can howl through the canyons and over those hills, very scary. But these skies look inviting.

  16. Wonderful pictures - I love the second and third. And I really love the way the sun streams through the clouds in rays of light sometimes - I'd really like to capture a good photo of that.

  20. I envy you. Ours are just grey, though the sun seems to be boring a slight hole through the greyness. Alas...
