I think this speaks for itself.......

Sometimes, photographs just take my breath away....the picture above does that to me....in fact, my whole view does that to me, depending on the day....the weather....the smog.....the sunset....

Another fabulous sky.....Oh My.....

And just one more because sometimes there are too many and you can't really take them in....and when that is the case, you miss the 'experience'....you know? I'm off to 'dreamland' now....I hope I dream about these gorgeous sky's....

More To Come.....

  1. ALL of these take my breath away, Naomi. One of the things that constantly brings me back to my camera is the way the same scenes can be rendered completely unique by a simple change in light. It is such a subtle yet powerful force. You captured it in this series.

In answer to your excellent question, I save 'em all. Well, not the obviously failed pictures. But once I triage my images down, they get burned off and archived. I used to use CDs, but since I switched to the new camera, the file sizes are so huge that I've transitioned to DVDs.

  14. One can never experience too many sunrises or sunsets. And they are truly an experience. I particularly love the last one, the colors are so gorgeous, so brilliant and yet, so soothing.

  15. Naomi, this is too weird. I was watching TV with my kids and I noticed the clouds outside. When I got up to come to the computer, my kids asked me where I was going. I told them that I wanted to email you to please take pics tomorrow of the pending rain storm as well as pictures afterward because you know how beautiful the L.A. skyline is after a good rain, plus the Santa Ana's that are supposed to be here on Tuesday. I love your view shots! And what do I find here? Your post on the view from your place!! I'd say that's more than a coincidence, hmmm? Great minds think alike, they say! So please, take pictures of your wonderful view during the next couple of days!!

  21. Dear ole Lady !

There must be a misunderstanding (I first thought it were my english, lol) I wrote :

"You do what you want, a picture is enough too. Just let us have fun that's the most important thing !"

I never said a picture is not enough. I only said no full litterbox !
    But if you want ....

If you don't like Mr. Linky there is no problem either. You just click on mine, so people know that you have posted and that's it. You don't have to put one on your blog if you don't like it. Everybody comments anyway.
Thanks for joinging and I am curious to meet your cat !

  22. I feel the same, sunrise, sunsets or stormy black skies just let me sit down and watch and dream ... I always remember the feeling I had going on a camel back through the desert and watching a sunset this was so beautiful.

  23. I'm going to enjoy these for tonight. The wind's a blowin outside here and the chill is on. The man tells me on TV when I wake for work tomorrow, I'll have 2" of the white stuff to deal with. First snow...I prefer your sunset :)

  25. My favorite photos are nature shots and I particularly love sunrises and sunsets. I find you get such a dramatic color palette then. Though I never seem to capture all the colors on film that I see with my eye. I guess I'll just have to keep trying. Love your photos btw. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. I'm still catching up on my reading after being away from the computer for so many days.

  26. The great thing about you is that you actually appreciate your spectacular view. So many people live such hurried lives they probably wouldn't take the time to really enjoy that view!

Thanks for sharing, those photos are beautiful.

Oh and I hope you had a lovely holiday weekend!

  29. One of my favorite things are clouds. I took courses in college in meteorology and climatology because I like clouds so much.

  31. Me again. I had to have another look. I took a picture of the setting sun earlier today - a totally spontaneous moment that I was able to share with the munchkins. I thought of these images as I was taking my own.

I'm a continent away, yet the influence was rather powerful. Cool how that works!
