seemah's birthday lunch - part 3

Continuing on with the contents of the Gift Bags....There was a Princess Lollipop, in the shape of a Crown....And some tiny little 'Princess Pads', too, for writing tiny little notes to yourself......... There were at least three of these itty bitty pads in each bag....Everyone loved them! And that Guitar handle? Well, that was really cute....! Inside this darling little metal Guitar Box were these delicious little round White Mints that were in a sealed cellophane bag. They truly melt in your mouth....kind of like Altoids, only not quite as strong....Maybe because they were so small......! Then, there was this Bubble Maker in the shape of a 'star'...And you can hang it around your neck. You unscrew the top and blow...And these Fabulous Bubbles appear.......Here below is one Bubble.... And then below is another Bubble...... That's all I could catch with my camera---with me 'blowing' and me taking the pictures, too.....lol....Next time I will try to remember to get some pictures of my guests blowing these darling little Bubbles....... There was a lot of stuff in that bag.....Everyone unpacked EVERYTHING and then just enjoyed looking at it all and playing with some of it....There, in Lee's lap, you can see that wonderful B*llsh*t Bag that dear dear Judy, of Imagine, sent me.....I knew everyone would just love the wonderful humorousness of these very clever bags......And below....a closer look at that Bag---upside down.......

I showed Sweetie the special Bag, wondering what he would think about it......And as you can see below, he gave it a good look and a bit of a sniff, too.....And here below is a very very short video----9 seconds----of dear Sweetie's opinion of this bag......

I had hoped to get a longer Video, but when he moves, he moves fast....lol! Truthfully, it was the Star Wand that he got excited about and the bag got caught in the fallout....lol.... There were also some games.....there were five or six different kinds...The one above was a total mystery as to how one plays it....lol....Also there was a Chinese Checkers game and even a Chess Game, plus a few others.... Sweetie seemed very interested in the little Dark Chocolate Kisses in my bag.....And why wouldn't he be! Except, in truth, he doesn't eat chocolate. In fact, he doesn't eat any 'people' food. The Birthday Girl seemed to be enjoying all the goodies from her Bag....Especially, all those Kisses....... And Lee was enjoying them, too.....Everyone had a great time opening all the goodies in their bags. They are all always so responsive to these silly things....I keep thinking maybe I should stop doing the bags, but when I mention that to everyone they say "NO....We love them.....!", which makes me happy, I must say. I really enjoy the fun they all have with all the stuff they find each time.........

Next, came The Birthday Cake! But that will have to wait until Part 4!

More To Come.........

  4. Just so you know, I'm stealing your ideas for my mother's 80th party that we're throwing in a couple of months. (I'll give you all the credit, of course.)

  6. Oh you tease Naomi! Still no dessert!
I think one of the reasons the ladies love your lunches - they cater so well for the little girl in all of us.
I noticed a black Scottie behind Sweetie - not a real one I'm sure? BTW Sweetie looks very fit and healthy now.
Seemah really suited her blue tiara and your voice sounded as if you are getting back on top of things which I'm very happy about.

  7. I never dreamed such simple gift bags might be so special. I can do them too. Thanks for all the great ideas. "People don't stop playing because they are old, they get old because they stop playing." (can't recall who said that...somebody very young! YOU!)

  8. Hi Naomi,

I haven't been to visit for awhile, I had some computer problems and in the meantime lost your blog address. Well I found it today and I'M BACK! I have so much catching up to do, but started today with the party posts, so enjoyable. I will be spending a lot of time here today. Reading, reading, reading!

I hope by now the ant problem is under control. They could have a nest in the wall of your house somewhere. I hope not.

I hope you are feeling better healthwise, and I missed Betty and Annie. Right before I read they were not feeling well, I was saying to myself, where are Annie and Betty? I was glad to hear they are feeling much better.

Enough rambling, I will say until next time...have a great week!

  9. You really are a bunch of girls at play, aren't you. I relate because I am a lover of little toys, tops, pinwheels, stickers kaleidoscopes too and girl play.

  11. Naomi, thanks for the mention and the link. It is just amazing for me that those BS bags, which languished in the bottom drawer of a file cabinet in my garage for many years are now in the hands of you and your friends - and in the lap of Lee Meriwether...
LOL. I am so glad you could use them and I hope they got a good reaction from all the women!!

  14. Ohhhh, new pictures of Sweetie! She is such a thing of beauty. How I wish I could reach through the monitor and cuddle her ... I am a cat lover deprived of having a cat by family allergies ... the video was a treat, though.

It's wonderful not to have to give up princess parties just because one has passed a certain age!

  15. Neat that you all had so much fun and laughter and feeling good is very important today as are long term friendships

  16. The Mystery Game? I'm pretty sure that you play those pieces in a tic-tac-toe kind of manner. I think.

It's nice to see that Sweetie had fun too!

  17. Oh no keep doing the bags I LOVE finding out what you are putting in them and it must give you so much fun doing them too. And the ladies sure look happy getting to see what is in them too.

It was wonderful to hear your voice Naomi on the video of Sweetie. She is a beauty isnt she even though princess things are clearly not 'her thing', lol.

My mother is 78 in a couple of weeks and I just read What R. Sherman's comment. I think I might do the same Naomi. I think I am going to do these goody bags with all credit to you too. Everyone loves good bags.

I remember organising a Girls Night Out in a club in Scotland when I lived there. I had so much fun doing 130 Goody Bags filled with all sort of things. Girls love them, its so true.

You seem to think of new things to put in them each and every birthday celebration. Its fantastic. Now what we should do is do something among bloggers and send each other goody bags, lol!!

And purple kisses wow! You are a star, truly!! I kind of fancy the blue bubble maker star too. We never get too old to play.

    Have a great Thursday!

  27. I ask myself, how to start this comment?
The beautiful ladies, the gifts, the charming Cat?

One thing is for sure, every time I visit USA I do buy lots of Altoids;-)) Simply love those old fashioned pastils.

Another thing: You make me very happy every time you post from these extrodinary BD parties. You simply make my world brighter.

BTW. I've startet posting from our visit to France. Today from Nancy, where I was a member of a Norwegian Theatre Group in 1968.
    Lot's of memories and passion.

  28. Love the story and the pics and of course the video! What a great BD party!

Sorry I haven't been around for a while, but have been busy at the blog gathering in South France with Tor and Anna you know :-)

  29. I love it when you do the goody bags because you always have such fun ideas to give at my parties! No one here in ole Virginia would know they came from California...these were great. The perfect treat as always for your friends!

  30. You know what? I'm thinking that loot bags at birthday parties are kind of like Christmas stockings. I always LOVE to open my Christmas stocking more than the prezzies because they are full of fun things. I also LOVE filling them for my family. Lots of thought goes into them and little surprises that make them laugh.
